I posted a thread int he EVE fiction forum. It took up almost all of the 4000 characters alowed, had 200 chars remaining. I click post topic, then it brought me to my login screen, confused I signed in agian thinking it was verification that its you posting the thread. Then when I went to the EVE fiction thread, it wasn't there  . WTF! It tok be 15 minutes to right all that. I have already forgoten some of the threads main thoughts. Ithis really ****es me off. Is it just loading onto the forums or is it gone forever? |

The forums were programmed by the office junior and cleared by Stevie Wonder. I thought everyone knew that?

Simple...you timed out. Next time, write a bit...post a bit, then go back in edit.

You mean you spent the time typing out 4000 characters, and you didn't do it in a text editor first?
You took too long to type it, so you timed out. This is a normal thing that happens all over the internet, so you should probably be used to it by now, and take appropriate steps to circumvent the problem. |

Select all text then right click and copy. Its like a reflex for me nowadays. |

If the spelling is as bad in the story as it is in the op, then I for one am glad the forum ate the post

Just make sure you are logged in when you hit submit again :)

Logs back in and pastes in the poast then hits submit. Looks in wonder at the login screen again..

Id recommend you write it in a text editor with spell checker then when finished copy and paste into forums then post.

When ever i do that (hit back, i just get a empty box to type in again).
Its really bad the eve forum still does this on a regular basis, really bad. Someone needs to smack the forum designer/admin its been like this for literally YEARS.

I use word to type everything, then spell and grammar check it. Once happy Copy and paste into here.
Also makes sure you don't get stung by the 5 min thing :).

It's not normal. Even free stuff like PhpBB won't do that. You have to be honest here, it's simply crappy/rushed programming, but this forum is really old and I bet CCP had lots of other things to do back when work started on this. And now it would be a waste of CCP's resources to fix it with EVEgate forums in the pipe. We'll just have to be patient a bit longer .) -
