Subspace rift / Subspace anomaly to counter Lag - Sleeper invasion [Yeah, all I know I learned from Start Trek ]
This is a followup to thread Programmed lag and many others that sugested blobing penalties to fight lag. While I don't like the idea of programmed lag, I agree that lag will always be around. If it is fixed for 200 people its not for 2000. If it is fixed for 2000 than how about 4000.
To fight lag I sugest a dynamic reaction of the solar system itself to the number of active ships in system and in fight. If there are to many people, the system should seed anomalies that increase in numbers, size an effect if more people join the fight or enter the system. All people in system should be informed and warned of the things that are going to happen.
The anomalies should escelate as follows: 1. visible (spooky dark rifts all over the system) 2. start pulling out of warp (slowing down people) 3. blocking onboard scanner and hindering probes (spreading out people) 4. invasion of sleepers that distribute additional damage equally (reducing number of ships) 5. finally the apearance of sleeper carriers, doing real damage and pod killing
If enough player leave the system, the anomalies disapear, sleepers selfdestruct.
Both sides in a fight would take serious damage if they let the anomalies escelate. This might cause the smaler fleet to loose faster. But the large fleet will take more damage and lose more ships.
What do you think? Please flame on...

i like the idea but no sleepers, maybe local rats heard about the battle and warp los of bs/frig to the blob when the fight, frig scram/web, but that could cause more lag.

Applicants should have a minimum of 15mil SP and a high level of combat experience. Looking for people who are willing to commit to combat operations with a good crew of pilots. The corp will be operating mainly in the Tash-Murkon region, but will have operations in other regions in the upcoming future. Initially, we will be operating on our own impetus, but soon, we will be taking on public contracts for anti-pirate/anti-griefer operations.
We currently offer: Low-Sec POS in our home constellation Discounted replacement ships and capital production from a sister alliance Seasoned combat pilots to operate alongside Corp killboard to brag about our adventures Upcoming website from http://www.eveantipirates.com/ A chance to take it back to the pirates!
