the only problem i see really with being able to buy sp is that people who have played for a while that prey on noobs may now end up getting there asses handed to them as they will never know how much sp they have :D
eg "oh look and 1 month old char, goodie im off to gank him", 2 min later this player sitting in there pod and all wtf just happend :D

I meet new people everday. I do not know them. I will likely never meet them again.
It does not matter to me what they have done, or what they will do. They're just things on a screen to me. The real downside to this is that they could be Julianne Moore, and I would never really know. Maybe in future they would buy skillpoints. I wouldn't know or care about that either.
Nobody told me when I first activated my account that I agree to be angry at the very notion that something irrelevant could change. They should have made it clearer if they wanted my cooperation. -- On planets... nobody can see you macro mining... |

edited for more likely turn of events

Edited by: Whitehound on 25/06/2010 10:50:21 People already do buy SPs. They buy multiple accounts and train each of them for a specific purpose. This is almost identical to purchasing SPs for a specific skill.
While some need 3 years to train a character to be an excellent mission runner, miner, industrialist and trader, do others achieve the same with 4 accounts in only 1 year.
A system to buy SPs to a character will help to reduce the number of multiple account holders and bring back more fun to EVE.
If you have ever played with someone who needs to run 3-4 accounts in parallel only to run L4s, and who cannot let go of it, and you try to run missions with him, then you know how annoying this can get. "Wait, need to get CNR in first, then the Drake, and I need to dock the salvager, ..." --

Edited by: elgluth on 25/06/2010 11:11:49 What if instead the way you get sp is a small bonus when you pod kill someone, perhaps based on the ship class they were flying and the amount of sp they have?
Of course there would have to be rules and situations where it can be gained, perhaps only concord sanctioned kills such as wardec's, faction wars, and nullsec combat.

BUYING SP??!!?!?! This is the first I've heard of this. If CCP even alluded to, or players foolishly mistook a comment or Devblog about selling SP, I would have though that GD would be covered with thousands of topics about it. How did you get the scoop? I better go start some topics identical to yours, I would hate for this to remain a secret for long.

Implying people buy multiple accounts because of skill training and not because it lets you do multiple things at once.

This is funny until you consider some morons in this place would actually throw all their life savings at this game.
On the other hand, doing this could effectively fix the entire Iceland economy. Lets do it!
