Primae - PI barge? Mining Barge? Lolwut?

Heaven's Eye	Posted - 2010.06.25 17:16:00 - [1] The primae is a ship for Planetary Interaction. Interesting. My Viator is better for this sort of thing than a slow and weak t1(it definitely aint t3) ship. My planets are in low sec. Bringing a mining barge is like bringing a -10 alt in high sec. CCP, what are the stats for this cool looking mining barge(it does look kinda cool.) Will it be able to fit a cov ops cloak like my Viator can so I can ferry planet materials without being shot lol? I see 3 visible slots on the Primae's front side, similar to a hulk's slots. This leads me to believe its another t1 barge for the lulz. Or perhaps its like the useless Zephyr. A 1 slot ship for the lulz designed to increase scanning yeild of planets...? Dunno. It looks to cool a model to waste it on that role. I mean come on, it is not every day that CCP designs cool looking ship. Im out of ideas. Comments? Suggestions?

I think it's great that CCP has devoted time to the models (at least a couple of them so far) in which they have really brought EVE's main characters (the ships) up to par with what the tech should/can render and still be viable to everyone player wise. My hope is that the T3/Scorpion/Primae/etc. is a prelude to a "new trinity" upgrade, even if they just refine the designs (much needed in some cases and mild improvements across the board) to a cleaner, more interesting state. Another hope is we get a cam/view upgrade to something that is a bit more "epic scale" in which the ships are indeed huge looking. I have heard a few suggestions on this - reverse fish-eye, etc. Anyway, EVE is starting to look really good, I hope that it continues to improve and refine itself (on a faster pace) in the near future.

Any standard industrial or upgraded version thereof is going to be better for the role, based on simple hold volume. However, opening your ship hangar and finding this fella floating in there sure reminds you that they've launched some newfangled thing that you can fiddle with on your slow days.
