Just upgraded my 22" 1650x1050 monitor to a 24" 1920x1080.
Noticed that my 7600GT is now struggling when there are large number of polygons on screen. Would not have thought a small increase in pixels would impact it so much but even on PVE missions it's noticeable.
Any recommendation on what I could upgrade to , looking at staying with Nvidia, maybe a 9000 series?
I only play Eve so top end card would not be required.
cheers

stick with nvidia if your motherboard is an nvidia chipset based board.
i prefer nvidia myself as i can multi client upto 5 clients on one pc and 4 on another pc using (old by today's standards) nvidia cards... i had a newer ati card before that sucked at any more than 2 clients.
but there are some good ati cards out there too

I've been using a Palit GT240 (with 1GB GDDR5) for some days now. No problems so far.

I use that exact same card and i run EVE at full specs with no problem.
Have you run the latest drivers and have you defraged your computer since you re installed EVE
hope that helps

I run the game on a 20" with eye candy on at 1600x1200. Recently had to limp along with a 7800GT as my 8800GTX died.
I felt the 7800GT had a very hard time even with all eye candy turned off at that resolution. I see quite a bit of larger fleet fights however. The 8800GTX handled fights very well considering my older platform (nForce4 - 2Gigs - Opteron 170). I've now upgraded to a GTX 465 and apart from everyone beating me loading up the next system due to my older system, the thing makes for a very pretty Eve indeed.
I think you would be happy with the performance of a 9800GTX but the ones I'm seeing on Newegg is 512 memory. I'd look for a nvidia that at least has 768megs. Good luck!

For what its worth, i used to run a 9500gt, and it just wasn't man enough to run full spec at 1440x900. I upgraded to an ATI 5770 (since i had good experiences with ATI a long, long time ago). I had nothing but troubles at first, with constant (ie every 10-15mins) crashes ONLY whilst gaming.
I RMA'd the card, apparently the problem was to do with a certain manufacturers memory chips, newer revisions of the card had different chips.
Anywayyyyyyyyys, the 5770 is cheapish, runs cool and quiet, uses hardly any power, and packs plenty enough punch to run multiple screens/clients full spec at 1920x1080. ATI, despite their pretty crappy drivers at first, seem to have got their **** together with the 5 series and are offering serious bang for buck.
