Just a warning to those who would attempt a true 'market manipulation' in Jita. If you don't have multiple billions to devote to the game and balls of steel . . . it can end up very badly for you.
I love market griefing

It is called competition. Griefing happens when you actually get off your arse and get into a ship.

*shrug* semantics. Whether you post a profit or a loss on the activity doesn't change the fact that I saw what he was doing and deliberately rained on his parade, not out of any capitalistic motive. Jury is out on whether I'll post a profit or loss on the activity but that is irrelevant.

It was Cap Rechargers II in Jita on Saturday.
I was restocking a few of my stations with various Tech II items for the weekend surge when I noticed Cap Rechargers II were going for nearly 2m in Jita instead of their usual 600-700k. This ****ed me off because I was out of them and they are a big seller on Saturdays and Sundays.
So I decided to teach the guy a lesson for interfering with my plan. I bought up all of my competitors' stock from the area I was servicing and brought them to Jita. Within 30 minutes I was able to collapse the price from a nearly 2m down to 750k at which point I rolled with the wave and offloaded the rest of the modules.
I understand and realize it wasn't that big a big feat, and probably didn't deserve a forum post; especially to those of you bigwigs with multiple billions. But for lil ole me, it was fun and it got the adrenaline pumping for a couple hours. I did notice someone wound up stuck with several thousands of Cap Rechargers II even after the price had crashed back into the 600-700k range.
Anyway, the end of the story is that I cleared out my competitors from the region I am working and posted around a 20% profit -- although obviously it could have been a lot higher if I hadn't purposefully crashed the price in Jita.
Lastly, God has punished me for my sins as when I woke up on Sunday, my gaming computer was broken and won't work now so I am stuck on forums-only until I get my new Alienware M11x that I just ordered .
AUB
EDIT/PS: Do people who try to manipulate an item in Jita realize that even though you can't see it from Jita, Sobaseki is only 1 jump away and is usually stocked with only slightly higher priced modules in large quantities?
Really unless you buy up everything in adjacent regions as well you are just asking to be griefed.

Who ****ed in your cornflakes?
As far as the laptop goes, I really don't care about your opinion of it :) I don't know how to build them, nor do I know anyone who does, nor do I care to put in the effort to learn. I am not in the "tech" business IRL.
On bragging, like I said above I realize it probably didn't deserve a forum post. However, a couple people asked for details so I decided to elaborate. As for you, why do you feel the need to spew venomous garbage when you could simply shut up and move on?
Or maybe you're holding onto a few more Cap Rechargers II than you bargained for.

No seriously, even at the risk of you not caring, I hope you read this post of mine and it registers in your subconsciousness for future refrence.
Do not buy Alienware. Ever. Don't.
It's blowing money in to thin air, seriously. You can grab about 300-500 euros from your bank account and throw it on the street, it's just that bad.
Even if you don't know how to build comps, even if you don't know anyone who does, and even if you don't care to learn, I'm sure you do care about your money. So please for the love of all things capitalistic, cancel the order and walk to the nearest computer store and buy the most expensive gaming rig they have. It might be marginally less powerful than the alienware one, but only marginally, and you just saved yourself a good load of cash for a computer just as good.
Alienware is the biggest hoax of the computer industry going today.

You don't know what you're talking about. Most Alienware is overpriced. Not crappy, but overpriced.
The m11x is a very unique computer. It's relatively low priced, has an ultra low voltage processor and small form factor (between netbook/notebook) size, and has a monstrous GPU for the size.
The m11x is basically a netbook that can game. I mean max out L4D2/eve, run Crysis on med/high, ect. And if you don't want to game, switch to integrated graphics and get great battery life from the low voltage processor.
The 335m is a very powerful GPU, stronger than most 15 inch laptops have. Good luck finding that in an 11 inch form factor. The screen isn't great, the build quality can have an occasional issue, but I've used an m11x and let me tell you it's cool seeing a netbook sized computer max out bad company 2, while still getting 5+ hours of battery life without the GPU enabled.

That's probably the first laptop/notebook that I've seen with a lit keyboard. Laptops/notebooks are quite difficult to assemble yourself and if your looking for some very specific features then your suffering at the manufacturers grace...
I would easily pay 100 euro extra for a lit keyboard on a laptop, a good mobile graphics card is also valuable (if you need it).
Didn't Tyrannis include some exclusive 'features' for an Alienware computer?

This is a strange and unintended tangent. But, Nobzy, I understand where you are coming from. Truly I do. The laptop that just took a dump on me is an Alienware Area-51 m9750, slightly less than two years old, and has been in for warranty repair twice already (for the same problem) and still isn't fixed. I swore I wouldn't buy another Alienware.
However, I am getting the M11x because I want a netbook sized computer that can also handle gaming. It is the only one out there, and I've been eyeing it since it was released. Would you be surprised if I told you the way I configured it I just spent $3,000 on it? Yeah, 256GB solid state hard drive (which costs $500 more than the 500GB HDD), Intel Core i7 processor, and 8GB dual channel DDR3. Overpriced, yes, but after looking at all the other vendors I couldn't find exactly what I wanted - the M11x fits the decription.
With Alienware, I just hate dealing with the Far East tech support. So the only thing I did differently was buy the 4-year 'premium' warranty instead of the 2-year 'basic' warranty.
Oh yeah, and I love Dell, have bought many many solid business computers, servers, printers, etc. from them in the past.

It's not that you have the money to not care. It's that you are paying a premium to others for their specialization. In the same way that you are going to pay for a doctor to perform a life-saving open heart surgery, or a lawyer to defend you in a criminal case, we pay IT professionals to manage our networks and overpriced gaming laptop assemblers to build our portable gaming machines
Unless of course you already have the technical knowledge and expertise yourself, at which point you don't need the Alienwares of the world.
