A few of you might remember my thread about "how much isk do you make?".
Well, I just hit the 1b mark today, in under a month. Epeen now 3x larger.
I remember that there was a challenge to get 100m in under a month by only station trading in Jita, couldn't undock, no Isk loans, nothing else besides buying and selling inside 4-4.
Well i kinda cheated, But it left me with 1b instead of 100m. So im not complaining ^_^. But the reason for this thread is....
I challenge you to, with a new character, make 1b isk in 1 month using any trade-means you can think of.
And to add to the epic poonage, I started this with no previous knowledge of the merket in Eve Online, however I did have experience in trading in games that, when compared to this one, were very low on the difficulty scale (WoW,Warhammer,Age of Conan). Which the simple, easy minded playstyle and market was not enough for my higher level of intellect than my average comrades. So 1-2 weeks of that time was spent learning about the market and all its intricacies.
Rules:
-You have freedom of travel
-You can start with 10m (I had an rl friend loan me some, but i paid him back)
-you can trade in any station/region you like.
-no other loads besides that 10m
-must start with new character
-when finished, post join date/billionaire date in your bio.
Prizes: 1 unit of Everlasting Glory

Been done many times before. Highest made in a month with a starter character (no skills, 5k isk) was 2b I believe.

Some have done it w/ tag and data center when FW came out.
Some have done it w/ target painter when missile was nurfed.
Some have done it w/ civil armor rep.
Some have done it w/ as little as 5k isk.
...
and many more.
What's your point? exactly? |

I'm sure your achievement is awesome and all that, but this kind of epeening is kinda ******ed in a sandbox game...

Usually I'd congratulate people with getting their first billion, but you're a special case (you certainly seem to consider yourself very special).
Now all I can say is: 'What a load of crap'.
Set some kind of arbitrary target everyone agrees is pretty easy, 'achieve' it, and then try to boast about it, including a reference to how much more intelligent you supposedly are than other people. Well, I'm not sorry to say, with all your smarts you've achieved nothing anyone else couldn't achieve. Note the lack of people clamouring for your API key as proof. Your claim is entirely believable, because it's nothing special.

Yes it's a sandbox alright, what they don't tell you is it's a sandbox full of bullies.

Most people in Eve don't take the time to learn the market and are too busy doing other things...some people excel at PVP, others carebear their way around missions and mining; and others excel at being negative about everything.
Celaton took the time to learn and excel at the market; good for him!

Yesterday, I spent 3 hours killing a pos. Got about 400m of stuff plus 1.2b of bpos.
2 weeks ago. Spent 2 hours killing a pos. Got 300m of stuff. 520m bpo.
Today. About to kill a pos. 900m of stuff. bpos unknown.
3 more poses lined up. over 2b of stuff.
beat that lol.
