There stands one man above all others.
One Tallest, casting lesser devs in his shadow.
One man victorious, holding all the chips.
And we're sending him to Vegas to represent internet spaceships.
Countless late night poker games at CCP offices and a healthy amount of intra-office smack talk recently rose to a fever pitch, demanding that we settle, once and for all, who was the best poker player at CCP. Each of our global offices held a qualifier tournament and the final table was seated during our company trip to Puerto Vallarta at the beginning of May. It was a fitting location for a high-noon showdown of some of the vilest scoundrels CCP has to offer.
Stefßn "Stebbi" Fri=riksson (AKA CCP Tallest), Level Designer for EVE Online, emerged victorious, earning honor for the Atlanta office although he's originally (and obviously) a "sson" of Iceland.
As the prize for victory, CCP is sending him to Vegas to compete in the World Series of Poker on the company kr=na. Odds of him winning the final table have been set at 50/50.
Stebbi will be heading out to Vegas on July 3rd to acclimatize his proud viking body for a few days in the city of sin before entering competition.

Make sure you wear plenty of EVE related clothing, hats, etc...
I get sick of all players advertising the poker sites on ESPN cameras! Seeing some Eve related stuff would be cool for a change. I guarantee NOBODY will be wearing a Gurista Hat...

Yes, the buy-in is $10,000 USD.
Yes, ESPN will be recording and editing the main event for later broadcast. I think it's usually September or so when it airs in the US. I'm not sure who will show or when it will air in other regions.
Also, I concur with wearing as much EVE gear as you can! But you better be representing for the Gallente! Well, maybe Minnmatar. Would any other faction support gamblers?
Congrats on the free ticket to the Big Game. I'm jealous!

It's a bit late unfortunately. He got beat pretty badly in the first rounds which left him with a much lower chip count than most of the competition. He then went all in one round but lost to a higher hand if I recall.
