Rather than giving them to the highest skillpoint character, wouldn't it have been more logical to give them to whatever character (if any) is currently training on the account and, if all of them have an inactive queue, then give them to the highest skillpoint character?

I agree, unfortunately its 100k SP to a character i havent trained in months and who has no untrained skills that 100k SP would make a dent in. To me, it might as well be 0 SP.
Only saying because i was quite looking forward to it until they said it goes to the highest SP player :(

I'd like to see 500k rewarded. That would really be a sign from CCP that "hey we appreciate our customers and would like to give back to you" - I would say highest SP character for the reason they don't want people power leveling a character I guess in some fashion...
Use it on an (x8) skill! is all i have to say. =)

I looked through the patch notes and could not see 100k sp listed anywhere. Was this confirmed by a dev post or another reliable source or is this just what people are assuming?

I get the feeling it's not a troll but a genuine honest salt of the earth case of misdirected rage. I think a little pity is called for. -- On planets... nobody can see you macro mining... |

Maybe they could say it's going to be 20,000 and then everyone will be happy if it's 100,000. |

LOL, Bump. Yeah, I'd say 500k would be a bit much but still would always be nice - would save people a bit of time. Not to look for a free handout but - any "nay sayer's" please tell me if you enjoyed your time playing EVE during patch days.

Actually I'd like 6 mill sp, that should take care of all the learning skills.

Wtf CCP? On our highest sp character only? I don't really train him anymore and I'm training my new character for a while now, but he's still got less sp and I can't even put the free sp into him... I have to put them in a character that doesn't need them. Way to go!

You do realize according to the EULA you agreed to they are not under any obligation to give you jack.
Just sayin'.
Also, I'm ashamed to say I predicted that this thread would surface when they first announced the SP gift.

You people are whiny *****es stop complaining about your learning skills and DO IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Shut up, make a new char, do first remap to all intelligence and memory, get cybernetics 1 and +3's, and banzai that learning **** with the training time multiplier, you'll have 1.6 million in learning in less than a month.
Just be happy you weren't around a couple years ago. Like I said, whiny *****es.
As for the free Skillpoints. Best compensation ever given out by a company for lost game time. Not only was any SANE person doing something else with their time, but if I'm not mistaken we still fully trained multiday skills during the server down period. CCP has warned players MULTIPLE TIMES to put in a multiday skill during all lengthy downtimes because you never know what will happen to you in EVE.

Most freebies from CCP come with a "USE BY" date. You 'sure' you wanna risk it? ;-) NAPS: forcing you to play 'their' game |

I don't understand all the complaining, CCP gave us more than we should have expected. If you assume we train aprox. 2000 sp/hour, and we could have missed 27 hours due to the down time, it would only be what... 60k skillpoints we missed? 100k is generous, now HTFU or STFU.
Oh, and a free ship

Read the patch notes and felt the same as the OP, this character hasn't trained for months and is unlikely too ever again.

100k SP onto a character I stopped training nearly a year ago to avoid excessive clone costs. |

Are any of you people older than one month in game (and 12 IRL)?
The whining in this forum is epic for what amounts to about a days SP.
Just put it anywhere and STFU about it already.

Exactly. My other char is my highest sp atm, but besides training one skill (to up dps in a cnr till i get this char up more), he hasn't trained in months and 99% chance he wont be trained again, at all. The 100k sp is useless on him. It may take a little time off of some skills, but what's the point? Those skills wont be trained anymore anyway. There are a few skills that would go up another level from this, but they're useless skills to me. This could've been awesome for me, then they f'ed it up...
Why the hell the highest sp char? Why not just any char over 10 mill sp, that'll prevent the rapid training of new chars someone mentioned.
As for all you morons that wanna say "take the gift and don't complain", lemme give you a for instance. Say I give you a new car. Awesome, right? Then I tell you it has no engine. Well, now it's kinda useless aint it.

except that you can actually apply the sp to your skillsheet, so not only is your analogy dumb and WRONG, you make yourself look like a fool for not understanding the relationship between the sp and the issue at hand..
thanks though, always good to get a laugh out of nerds.
