Due to the abnormally long downtime we experienced the June 23 and 24, CCP has decided to provide all pilots with skill point restitution.
This reimbursement will be applied during the Tyrannis 1.0.2 deployment on June 29.
As a news item published on the 24th stated: "In gratitude for your patience and after consulting the Council of Stellar Management, we will give an extra pool of skill points to all accounts (paying and trial) that were active at the beginning of this downtime, on one character per account. This skill point pool will be appropriately sized for the downtime time frame, universal across all accounts regardless of character attributes/implants and may be applied as each player wants."
This pool of skill points will be added to the highest skilled character on each account but if you wish for the skill points to be added to a different character on your account, please file a petition under the Skills & Clones category under the Reimbursement petition group.

I would suggest you submit a petition under the same category of Reimbursement, Skills & Clones.

Hey CCP, it was extreme fun to inject those points. I heard you want us to have fun, so can you give us more of that free SP pools ? Maybe every time a CCP employee has birthday, we get 100k * age or some such?

What I want to know is what test lv 5 is on that 500m sp CCP toon used for guide.
Probably bad stuff. If i was ccp I'd have secret skills and be up to no good with them too.

My dearest thanks to whoever gave the final green light to this. It is afaik first of its kind (read: 7 years late to implement  ) but still a very welcomed improvement. I hope this will not be a one-time act, but will be repeated if similar inconveniences occur in the future.
It probably doesn't mean much if anything at all to veterans with 100 mill sps, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean much to CCP itself either, not likely to reduce their income statement.
But it is a very kind gesture in my opinion, and will probably cut down the whinings on forums in future extended downtimes. It will at least shut my own mouth, given that I will know if there's extensions to the extended downtimes, at least I will not be taken for granted anymore.

Bah. I had a feeling this would bite me in the arse.
I did the naughty thing before CCP nerfed it, sent myself a buddy invite, got EVE off Steam when it was on sale and transfered a alt (12m sp) to the new account as I already had another alt (27m sp) that I was training.
Doesn't really feel worth it to pay another 20 euros, petition and then pay 20 euros more to move the character back. |

Not really an issue as such, but how are the skill point pools calculated? Is the 55,062 seen in the wiki example the standard pool for everybody? And what is that, some standard training rate * the extra downtime?
(Can't actually access the game at the moment to see it, just curious.)

After using the skillpoints in the manner I desired how long does it take for the update to be shown on the API? There's been several hours since I spent them, but the API does not display the new skill level.

just minor bug
happened only with this account
when i applied the 100k sp my wake up clone got reset to 900k
fixed by going to a med bay and updating it... and this toon has not been podded in almost a year so i know it WAS updated before.
just a heads up to double check your clone B4 u undock

How long have we go to use these free skill points for? I'm undecided on where I want to splash our my SP so if there is any time limit on how long it is until you remove it from us can you tell me pleeeeeeeeeease

Thanks for the sps, and for the option to move them. Only needed to move them on 1 account, but greatly appreciated the option to do so.
Look forward to the possibility of learning skills going away someday, as that's one of the worst things about being a new player that hasn't been remedied yet imo.

hmmm - it seems i have applied my skill points to a skill (small projectile lvl 4) and they have not been applied. Is there a delay in them appearing? They have not been applied to another skill either as I have only got a few part trained skills in my tree.
I have plenty of points so am not overly worried about this - I just feel like I am missing out - lol

I was told that I had lost mine due to me deleting the character that they had been allocated to, but I wake up to find they have been transferred to my next highest level character.

I filed two petitions, one in game, one out. The first one responded with " Sorry but because character now deleted points cannot be reallocated."
Second petition cam back with " Your skill points have now been reallocated" and when I checked in game they had indeed been reallocated.
I received answers from both within 23 hours.

I've petitioned several times now to get my skillpoints from the patch moved to my alt on the same account, i hav'nt had a reply since patch release, as you can imagine im real ****ed about the wait but once its done i'll forgive CCP and throw a cookie, but in the meantime im sitting here watching effin astrogeology go like a bloody snail ARGHHHHHH

The whole 'Communicate to your customer' thing could use a lot of help really. This is a perfect example. The skill points could have been allocated to any toon in your account, yet only after we have the points are we told to petition to enable this. However, once allocated, the points may not be re-allocated and are spent.
A simple 'This is how this will work' statement would have been nice.

I can't believe people are complaining about this.
...
I am extremely happy to have any kind of restitution at all. In fact this is a mechanic I was unaware of before hand and could see how this could be used in many different ways in the future.

I created a petition a few days ago before I read this. I submitted my petition under Gameplay Group and Skills Category instead of the Reimbursment Group and Skills and clones Category. I have 2 petitions out at the moment and didn't want to resubmit and incur a longer wait time. Would it be possible to get my petition moved into the correct queue? Thanks. |

Just to save anyone else wasting their time or building up their hopes , this is not the case , i have just had my petition closed by the GM's , stating along the lines of that its not possible to do this after the skillpoints have been applied ..
I just wish one dept in ccp would talk to the other , then i wouldn't have wasted my time writing a petition in the 1st place .
