Why is there no fuel requirement for eve ships ? Its almost like the ships in eve are on some type of perpetual motion technology ... whats the "technology" behind this method for spacetravel that apparently doesn't require any fuel ?
So my next question is, what is rocket fuel used for (its traded on the markets ...) ?
thanx

been thinking the same. stations need fuel. shuld have a fuel bay and u keep fuel in there. it gets low as u use it. would be nice but ppl would moan to much5

I guess the easiest way to suspend your disbelief is to assume that there's some kind of passive hydrogen collection system on the ships and that the drives run off fusion reactions. Given the huge nebulous clouds throughout EVE space, I'm guessing the whole area is rich in hydrogen.

Or the ships have their own form of advanced nuclear power?

That's my first guess to ! Give this is an interstellar simulation of sorts I would have thought designers of the game would have a spiel for this ... speculations and proposals for such designs are well advanced and published in the pop-science domains ... only trouble, practical to build only in a game like EVE

There is possibly in theory to collect matter and antimatter from the radiation and particles coming out of the event horizon of a black hole, even if the hole is small. Imagine a 1mm black hole, in a 50m containment field.

Technically at singularity a black hole could not be 50mm across, seeing as at the singularity it becomes an infinitely dense one dimensional dot.

The singularity is hidden by the event horizon, which is the only meaningful measurement of a black hole. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |
