Hi thereàwhat is the deal with the ôyou are already half way onboardö and the ôplease wait while ship enters hangerö responses when trying to switch ships?
ItÆs been driving me mad for ages but I just kept telling myself ôforget it, IÆm sure theyÆll get rid of it in the new patchö And have they? NO HAVE THEY BALLS
There MUST be a practical reason for this behaviour which I canÆt seeà
Please can somebody explain before I break down and cry

it suposed to be there. so u cant change ship until your ship is fully docked. so u cant change ships like 500 times a min. u have to actuly get onboard and get to the*****pit. and u cant undock exactly after u dock or get into a ship. it gives like 5 sec or sumin. its there to stay so just wait a few secs after u do stuff.

This was done to prevent characters from getting stuck... it had happened in the past where ppl changed ships real quick and then undocked, but then their character got stuck in the undocking phase. The time limit on changing ships was imposed to prevent stuff like this from happening again. Before, you couldn't undock straight away either after just having docked... it used to say something like "can't undock..haven't fastened your seatbelt yet". So you would have 2 waiting periods (one for changing ships, then one for undocking).
Yes, i know its annoying, but we gotta live with it.

I'm sorry but that's BS. We already have a wait period with a black screen and a progress indicator. Why do we need another wait period once the station UI is fully loaded?
You can do anything else in station during this wait period, but you can't change ships. Can someone from CCP confirm that there is a technical reason for this? Or is it an in-game reason?

Um, its not BS. If you were around long enough in EVE, you would know what i am talking about.

What he means is that it prevents you from getting stuck when undocking

well, i do admire the attention to detail ccp has. they COULD have just coded an annoying BUZZZZZZZZZ instead like many games do. It even makes sense, and adds to immersion.
Personally, the only times it really annoys me is when i screw up and jump in the wrong ship. *Shrug*
Don't you know all MMOGs have a "hurry up and wait" syndrome, better known as 'timesinks'??? ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

its session changes that cause it. same as leaving/joining gang then docking/jumping. its so u dont get stuck 20-30 times a day. Trust me, its there for technical reasons, and if they took it away u would be much more frustrated
