Originally by: Janos Saal Edited by: Janos Saal on 01/07/2010 11:59:46 Does EVE China charge a subscription fee? I know that in many asian countries the "culture" of PC ownership is very different (in that most people don't own one at all, and play MMOs at net cafes) and that this makes the western MMO model of paying a monthly subscription unsuitable. Many Asian games have to find other methods of generating income - such as by selling exp, skills or items. Selling remaps could fall squarely into that category. What I'm getting at is that the asian MMO market is very different from that in the West, and just because they do something over there, doesn't necessarily mean we'll see it over here too.
I hope this is a joke? about asians not owning PC's because it's BS.
I can confirm that most people in Asian countries do not have a computer at home, MMO's usually work by going down to the computer shop and buying a game card for a dollar or 2 that will give you x amount of hrs play time. People then go to their favourite internet cafe to play the games in their free time. I live in S.E Asia atm and have travelled around quite a bit, exceptions to this would be Singapore and S. Korea
China, Korea and Japan is hopefully excluded from that list.
Example with China: Of all the netizens, 346 million used broadband and 233 million used mobile phones to access the Internet. They had moved on from dialing the access numbers to broadband and mobile phones.

"EVE" the attribute reset platform makes something a matter of political line today ............
But because the attribute 0.1 passed through the determination in the past edition, was unable to change, therefore many played the family only to be able helplessly to look that their skill fast carried on the training by the turtle. What is lucky, in "EVE" the new edition "Insect Hole",
Supports hundreds of thousands of people with the clothing, the telecommunication network passes the double thread interconnection!

What amuses me is that the linked post, while genuine, has nothing to do with SP remapping.
It's simply the announcement that EVE-China is adding the ability to remap attributes to Serenity. ...just like we already can.
If you've followed the expansions and patches of Serenity, it doesn't follow the same schedule as TQ. It tends to release expansions of simpler design, and not in the order in which they land on TQ. The adding of the Attribute Remap, historically for Serenity, is a full on expansion.
In short: Learn to read (Chinese), before igniting yet another threadnought on pure rumor and hyperbole. *stomps on OP*

limited offer to get 2 remaps for the price of one
When attribute remaps were implemented, all characters that were created before it doing live received an extra remap, for the total of 2. New characters get 1.
Why'd anyone want 2 remaps on a new character is beyond me, tho.

I think you're all missing the most important aspect of the Chinese server:

1 to set your attributes the way you like them (since you can't affect them through the character creation process any more). 1 to give you the normal remap everyone gets.

More accurately translated as "Spaceship Battles." I take it that Jesus wept because we don't even have a eve-related flash game on our site?

"Insect Holes" (or, more accurately, wormholes) are already developed. Apocrypha wasn't a bad expansion either, so I don't know what you are talking about.

20% of Chinese people use net cafes regularly, 70% of those visit exclusively for playing games. Do I even need to mention South Korea and Japan?
Having lived in Japan for 10 years and Korea for 3, I can say that Japanese are one of the most connected in the world. Everyone I know has a computer and many do online gaming with monthly subscriptions, but also with microtransactions as well. Microtransactions seem more popular in Asia itself. Many seem to use whatever China does as "Asia" itself. Koreans are very big in the PC market, but their games are more microtransaction based.
Now, cell phones are more popular in Japan for internet as their phones are the most advanced in the world really, but PCs are probably in every home almost.
Eve China is run very differently, so it is hard to compare them to the main eve server. For example: In China, there are laws on how long someone can play each day, so they do have time limits on their accounts as well. :-) That, I am sure we will never see on the main server.

There is no difference between buying SP and putting them where you want just like the gift we just received. Just because you buy a pilot off the forums does not mean you are not buying SP. You are in fact doing exactly that "buying SP". You look over the pilots skillsheet before you buy one and if you are interested in where the skills are you place a bid or buyout. HOW THE F*CK IS THAT DIFFERENT FROM BUYING SP AND PUTTING IT WHERE YOU WANT IT!?!?
For those of you that can't make the connection, your just a stupid %^#%#$!%*.
Id like to know whats going to happen to EVE subs when the gulf of mexico gets evacuated. I wonder how many people living there will still give a flying squirrel about eve. Subs might drop 10k?? Dunno.
