So.. What happened to it? It made it a lot easier for me to get plex's because I do not have a credit card and can easily run to best buy and buy one. Will a new one be released sometime in the near-er future?

I saw one in my local BB just yesterday so I believe it's still available - at a guess it's just your local stores that ran out. I realise that you want to buy it in a store to pay in cash, but it's still available via amazon and other online outlets so I think it's still being sold...

Irrelevant to your question, but if you used the boxed edition in lieu of plex... Dear God, how many boxes of Eve do you have?

Wait, how much were the boxes?
I remember seeing them at the price of ú30 or so when they first came out - that's an outrageous price for a 30 day plex, as it includes activation of an account.

I guess the boxed version was another failure of CCPs almighty marketing department.
You know the guys that are always responsible when expansion is successfully and not nearly as responsible when this not the case. I am sure they have nothing to do with the current failure of shipping options from the online store. The almost total lack of coverage on EVE Online in various articles on gaming websites and and magazines and the communication breakdown between community and developers.
I am also sure that the black-hole-information-policy on future expansions and other projects like Dust514 will not have any negative effect on both. I am certain that the expected mediocrity of Dust514 and any facepalm-moments regarding future expansions will also not be the fault of a marketing team and their role as a blockade point for communication.

Boxed versions were between $10-$20 here. And included 60 days i think.
