I had a CTD today and after reconnecting, all my settings were gone, all BMs in the same folder (urgh !) and, worse, I can't adjust the sound.
It remains full volume whaterver I do. I can't even turn it off !
Please help

I have the same problem. I had problems with activating a hihg slot and having inbound Ventrilo sounds mute. Now I have both problems. I guess I need another sound issue. I sent a bug report in, got nothing back.

Edited by: FdD Banshee on 16/12/2004 17:28:54 Same problem here. Searched the forum and couldnt find anything.
My sound is loud as hell. Dont want to adjust the windows sound config cause then teamspeak and anything else will change too.
btw. in our corp 90 % have this sound problem too.
Some other things I found:
- I got all open windows in one place so i have just to switch between them and everytime I jump through a gate or dock it jumps back to the "my cargo" window - my overview is still not working, filed a bug report and never got a reply FSA Recruitment Officer |

Here's a workaround I found: - Set the volume slider to the desired level - Restart the client - Voila, sound will be at that level... until you touch the volume slider again... then you'll have to restart the client again :/

Same problem...
Thought i had sound down while i autopiloted to a Gate.
Was watching one of those Divx's where you HAVE to turn ur speakers and volume up to max to hear it.
You can guess what happened next.... Autopilot Jumping!!!!!!!!!!

I first started having this problem with the Exodus patch aswell...before that sound would continue in the background if I hit "esc" and I could adjust my sound just fine..but now, I have no control over the sound whatsoever and it's driving me nuts, because I have to like, walk on glass with my EVE sound now..I can log in, and the sound will be fine, but I can under NO circumstances try and change any settings while playing the game, because then the sound volum will go UP! and everytime I move my cursor over one of my modules or something else, it's like a really loud "DING!!" and I have sensitive ears :(
I guess someone has already filed this as a bug?? one the needs attention QUICK..I'd like to keep my hearing and still be able to chat with people over Ventrilo while I play.
Heres how I can 100% reproduce the bug:
1. Start EVE 2. Log in 3. Once ingame, hit esc to get config menu, sound stops when you do this 4. hit esc again to get back into game, there will be no sound still, until the next sound comes up, like you moving your mouse over something or the likes, or undocking from a station etc. your sound will be up REALLY loud and I can't hear what people on my ventrilo say anymore :(

This'll only work if you have a decent sound system with its own volume control and your headset plugged into your soundcard.
Set the ingame volume to the level needed to use Teamspeak/Ventrilo and relog.
When using speakers use the speaker volume control to boost the sound, when using Teamspeak switch off your speakers, the headset will still be at the right volume.

Does anyone have another sound related problem? When my ships fire their weapons and u are not zoomed on it close, you cannot hear the sounds or of the enemy weapon fire. If zoomed in close you can. Not good when u are on the map screen and something is firing at you.
