Ok. I can understand the way the Oversizing works now, though I don't much like it since I used lots of Oversized modules. but adapt or die right?
But one thing I don't understand. why do AB's now turn your ships into flying bricks? you can't manuver with one worth squat, going into any form of orbit kills all speed you can ever concieve of. Was it really necessary to do that?
And with the new nerf to oversized ABs and MWDs,will the MWD penalties finally be reduced Lossing Cap, SHielding and having a gigantor Sig is well.. to much

Have to re-read the patch notes, but as I understood the changes, they were going to lose the shield penalty on MWD's.
Not a massive difference, but significant for some setups, especially for thoraxes in PvP.

stop whining about this and that and i cant turn and i cant go fast and i'm getting my ass ooned.
put a car engine on your bicycle....is it gonna work? no are you gonna be able to turn? no.
imo this was a good idea taking those oversized things out of the game.

Did this new patch happen today??!! Cause I was logged on last night and all seemed ok to me, Sooo it must of be so??

Yup, patch happened lastnight/this morning depending on how you time it.
Can anyone confirm if MWD shield penalty has been removed? Either I'm blind or it isn't in those patch notes.

maybe if you read things and try them, before flaming you'll notice that ABs fitted to correct ships still blow in turns and orbits and well jut plain acceleration..

yeah u no longer have a shield penalty for MWDs.. probably the 1 that people could care less about :) I'd rather have my cap or my Sig thankz

Well -yeah- ... but its still something.
Enough for me to consider PvP'ing in Thoraxes now as a damage dealer/screen against frigates and other cruisers.
I seriously never expected them to un-nerf the cap penalties, and shields being the red-headed stepchild of defense that they are, it was an easy bone for them to toss us.
Still, its another thing on the side of the scale of MWD's versus no speed boosts, and helps shield Gallente that much more in order to reach their prey with blasters in PvP.

Anyone tried a correct size MWD on a Throax? For me it takes about 3 bursts to get up to speed (auto-repeat) which is about half a minute. My corp mate in a Prophecy fits a 10mn MWD and gets up to speed in 10 seconds about. Skills are about the same. Does anyone see a problem with this? I know I do.

Definetely with hand to hand "improve" of AB goes with penalty to maneuverability. That mean ships now accelerate far longer than before patch. Thank but I say no! :(

I tried a Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I AB on my Caracal (120% base speed, 144% with acceleration control at lvl. 4).
1) Acceleration is ghey. Well, I can live with it... 2) Base cruising speed = 212,5 m/s (navigation = 5) Max. velocity with AB = 457,3 m/s (acceleration control 4). Not that I love it... but, again, I can more or less live with it. 3) Capacitor usage/time 48 HP/14 sec (auel conservation 4, afterburners 4). Higher than pre-patch, but I have no problems with this. 4) Ship size with AB deactivated = 13,750,000 Kg Ship size with AB activated = 18,750,000 Kg  Well, I HAVE problems with this ! Now if I activate that damn AB I feel like flying a pile of bricks. I accelerate/decelerate slower, turn slower, have worst orbiting.
/em adds another timesink to the already long timesinks list...

yaeh I noticed that too. I was just in my I5. it weighs 11,750,000. hit the ab and it weighs 16,750,000.
Didn't know that turning on the ab ment your ship went on a binge eating frenzy..

As I posted in a nother thread, tested my Malediction with a 1mn AB and then with a 1mn MWD. It now handles like a Cruiser.
