Edited by: Conrad Lionhart on 03/07/2010 11:24:38 Hey all,
I'm entertaining the idea of only doing level 4 courier missions. They don't pay as well as combat missions due to no loot and salvages, but they are quicker to finish, and thus you can get storyline missions faster.
Do you think getting storyline missions faster would be a viable source of income?

People do it, but mostly to get standings fast and not as much for the rewards. The market should be very saturated with whatever items you get from storyline missions. Unless you don't have the training for combat missions, i'd stick with them, the payout is bigger.

The items are usually learning implants. For the typical lvl4 storyline trading missions you get a 20 mil implant in exchange for less than 1 mil worth of ores. It's worth doing.

Assuming you find one of the few good courier agents still far enough from low sec not to risk your hauler you can make out OK. That said, a half-decent battlecruiser fit will make you more raw isk, lp, and give you better standing per hour at a good lvl 3 combat agent and even the good courier agents will occasionally send you on combat ops, ask you to haul a freighter sized load, or send you on a fools errand into a heavily pirated lowsec system.

Nobody is saying, that storyline missions aren't worth doing. The problem at hand is how you get to them and the total isk gain per a combination of regular missions and storyline missions.

Of course it's worth doing, but he's asking if it's a viable source of income over the alternative of combat missions.
