Edited by: Yaksha Zerthimon on 03/07/2010 17:27:43 So I'm trying to get an alt account setup to help do level 3 missions with my main account. I've got a Caracal that's been working in level 3s and want to get the alt into a DPS focused Rupture to speed up these missions. I'm a fairly new player, so this is what I've been able to throw together looking through various other fits that I've found around the web.
[Rupture, Rupture test] Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Capacitor Power Relay II Overdrive Injector System II
Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II 10MN Afterburner II
220mm Medium 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP M 220mm Medium 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP M 220mm Medium 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP M 220mm Medium 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP M 'Arbalest' Rocket Launcher I, Gremlin Rocket 'Arbalest' Rocket Launcher I, Gremlin Rocket
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II Medium Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II
Hobgoblin I x5
The alt is a brand new character, and I'm fairly poor ISK wise. Any suggestions for better damage would be greatly appreciated, as well as advice for any foolish modules I may have chosen.
Thank you!

You could probably switch the rocket launchers for assault missile launchers

You are doing it wrong.
Get a battlecruiser for Level 3 missions.

If I'm not mistaken, a well fitted BC runs close to 100 million ISK? Rather than wait till I've saved that much up, seemed like it would be more entertaining to get dual cruisers running for similar effect. And it would make the run to double battlecruiser faster as well, wouldn't it?

Thanks, do assault missile launchers work fine/well in autocannon range?

Edited by: Panch0Villa on 04/07/2010 03:03:48 A BC is 25-30m. You can put together a crappy fit that'll blow thru L3's for probably less than 5m. You will then need your alt to salvage all the wrecks your BC leaves behind.
Get the BC.
EDIT: If you go with minnie, Hurricane will serve you well. If you go with the Drake, with a passive shield setup it has a very strong defense out of the box, and if you rig it with 3x purgers, you'll be able to tank any L3 out there no problem.

For Lvl 3 missions I recommend you swap to 720s and use an active shield tank.
This maintains good dps and reduces damage to a tankable level.
Ok if the Caracal pulls all the aggro this is another story. 1 gyro to te, power relay to dc, injector to nanofiber. mids to sb and tc or painter+ab. should free up grid for 425s and or larger launchers. falloff-rig, speedrigs. no t2-rigs if you are low on cash. :P

Edited by: Famble on 06/07/2010 19:25:29 If you go with a Hurricane here's the fit that's suited me well for a good long time (tailor to your skills).
I'm actually doing L4's in this setup atm with a fitting cost of perhaps 35 million. The 'Scout' 720's are by far the biggest expense and one that can be trimmed if necessary. For instance with 'Gallium' 720's the fit cost would drop to ~10 million.
