Why do so many people get so upset over nothing on these forums, especially when it's someone asking an honest question?
Yes, they can use the "search" but come on, new people join eve all the time.
How about, for a change, everyone be nice! :)

FFXI has *no* forums. The community is divided among three or four fan websites and as such all of the forums suck.

It depends on the question. if you, now for example, asked the forumites if CCP will remove the learning skills, you would be flamed ineed.

Don't think "upset" is the right word tbh.
Many of the "questions" you refer to are ones that have been asked, and answered several times, often on the first couple of pages in any given forum. In these cases posting a new thread is indicative of extreme laziness, which is a very good way of getting yourself flamed.
Not to mention the F&I forum where taking the (minimal amount) of time to read both the rules and commonly proposed ideas stickies would possibly cut down on the ridiculous number of identical threads.
In my experience at least, the newcomers section tends to be a little more forgiving of repeat questions, with many people willing to help new players. But even there it is sometimes hard to believe that some of the more ridiculous questions (the ones that have been asked and answered already on the first page) are not deliberate troll-bait.
Whines on the other hand are rarely well received regardless of how new someone is. Another situation where taking a little time to browse the forums to get a rough idea how they work would benefit many a new player.
