Primary designation: Dust 514 Ground Combat Element. Secondary designation: EvE Online Corporation, Logistics and Combat Support Element [LCSE]
A web site is currently under construction (on hold while im deployed) For now, please feel free to join us on our forums: http://cmchq.lefora.com/
EvE Corp: Colonial Marine Corps LCSE [LCSE]
CMC is a professional online gaming community founded and led by U.S. Military personnel. The CMC emphasizes professionalism, tactical proficiency and leadership development at all levels. As such, we hold our members (our Marines) to a higher standard than that of the typical online gaming community, breeding a foundation of loyalty and stability that is hard to find in other online gaming organizations.
As a startup organization, the first official games the CMC will have a presence in are Dust514 and Planetside2.
You must be 18 years old to enlist and 20 years old to apply for officer training.
We donGÇÖt play MMOs we wage virtual warfare. GIT SOME MARINES!
status levels:
Enlisted- Enlisted members consist of both casual and hard core FPS gamers. Activity requirements for enlisted members are relatively relaxed, however just like all members of CMC, they must follow the CMC ROE. If you are currently in a player corp, fear not. CMC does not require enlisted members to resign from their current posts.
Warrant Officer- If you choose to gain Warrant Officer status, you must commit your primary character to the organization by joining the Logistics and Combat Support [LCSE] EvE Online Corp. You will not retain membership in any other player run corp and you must not allow for any other individuals to access your account.
Commissioned Officer- In order to obtain Commissioned Officer status, you must reach a minimum age requirement, as well as dedicate your online gaming time to the CMC exclusively. The organization is your online gaming family and you will be willing to make sacrifices as necessary in order to ensure the wellbeing of the community. At a later time, you may be required to submit personal contact information in order to allow for the CMC command staff to contact you outside of the online gaming environment. Participation in the CMC L&CSE is encouraged but not required.

Decentralization. Leaders should have the latitude to deal with changing situations on their own authority, and in accordance with the commanderGÇÖs intent. When leaders do not have to wait for orders from higher, our speed is increased. Decentralization requires confidence in the abilities of subordinates. |

Philosophy of Command: In order to support the fluid and chaotic nature of the battlefield, command must be decentralized. Subordinate leaders must use their own initiative to accomplish tasks which support their senior's intent.
Our philosophy of command must be based upon human relationships and the human factors in war. Our leadership styles must bring out boldness, the force of will, imagination and initiative. Decentralized command relies upon implicit communication and mutual understanding. This understanding allows us to anticipate each others actions and decisions without communication, increasing tempo. This requires seniors and subordinates to work closely together and build strong relationships. Leaders should always be able to talk to each other directly.

How We View Combat and How We Fight. Our perception of combat affects how we fight. Some believe that combat is predictable. This leads to centralized control and the expectation of precision. Forces based along these lines are unable to adapt and are overwhelmed by chaos. CMC tactics are based on the view that combat is unpredictable. We rely on decentralized control and mission orders, allowing small unit leaders the freedom to handle situations as they see fit. This view requires trust in competent subordinates and flexibility.
Victory cannot be achieved with checklists or formulas. We must study tactics and historical data to develop a creative talent for successfully handling difficult situations.

CMC Doctrine Excerpt from CMC The Theory and Conduct of War.
Mission Tactics. Mission tactics support decentralized command. Subordinates are told what to do, but not how to do it. This allows higher level commanders to focus on tactical concerns rather than the details of execution.
Mission tactics are a contract between senior and subordinate. The senior gives the order and provides the tools for the mission. The subordinate executes the mission in accordance with the larger tactical picture.

DESIGNATED POINT MAN. When moving with a fixed team, the team leader should designate one team member as the point man. The team leader will still maintain control of the team, deciding the manner in which the team will move and its overall goals. However the point man will choose the route the team will take during movement. The team will base their movement and tactical formation off the point man. Designate the team member that is most likely to survive initial contact with the enemy as your point man.

Warrant officers are Marines who have demonstrated loyalty to the CMC to the extent in which they have been entrusted to carry out duties that go above and beyond service to a particular platoon. For example, a Marine is appointed a Warrant Officer when he chooses to dedicate his EvE Online character to the CMC by joining the Logistics and Combat Support Element. Another example would be if a Marine provides services to the CMC that goes beyond the interest of a particular platoon such as web development for cmcmarines.com.
Warrant Officers will receive the tittle of Gunner if they provide key capability which supports ground combat. The technical requirements may vary from game to game, but for example, to become a Gunner in the Dust514 division, a Marine must be able to provide fire support with his EvE character while observing the effects with his Dust514 character simultaniously.
Warrant Officers progress through the ranking system based on the quantity of hours the member is observed participating in CMC operations unless otherwise specified. Hours are logged through the means of Combat Reports, which are submitted to the command after each operation.
WO1 (new WO or WO who must acheive a particular status which will vary from game to game. In the Dust514 Division, a Marine will stay a WO1 until his EvE character has 10 million skill points. Once 10 million points are achieved the WO will advance to the appropriate rank based off total hours loged)

Orienting on the Enemy. Maneuver warfare focuses on destroying the enemy system. We must understand how the system works so we can penetrate it and rip it apart. We find critical vulnerabilities by looking at the enemyGÇÖs unique characteristics.
Penetrating the system means getting into the enemyGÇÖs thought process. We must see the enemy as he sees himself, and use his own fears and weaknesses against him. We must realize that our enemy may not fight as we do.

THRESHOLD BREACHING: Breaching is the method the team uses to quickly enter through a narrow space, as quickly and with as much force as possible. The team stacks up on the outside of a danger area such as a door, ready to engage any contacts who could come out, while providing any necessary security. On command, the team will move through the danger area quickly and clear out any opposition on the other side. (1) FRAG AND CLEAR. Frag and clear is the method of breaching in which grenades are thrown through the threshold first, in order to eliminate or disrupt the enemy opposition before the team enters the area. (2) ENTERING A ROOM. Upon breaching the door, a method for clearing out enemy opposition needs to be established. Such as assigning the first Marine who enters the room to seek out and eliminate opposition first on the left side of the room, with the second Marine who enters the room to seek out and eliminate opposition first on the right side of the room, followed by any additional team members who repeat a similar pattern. In order to quickly establish security on additional danger areas encountered within the room, the team could use a method of covering these areas such as FORWARD TO REAR. (3) FORWARD TO REAR: A method a team uses upon entering a room, where the first Marine who enters the room clears the room to his satisfaction and immediately posts security at the nearest possible danger area to his point of entry on the left side of the room. The next Marine would post security on the nearest danger area to the point of entry on the right side of the room. Additional team members would follow a similar pattern and the last team member would post security on the entry point if there are no other danger areas to cover toward the back of the room.
