Hi, I am thinking of training my probing skills so I can peak into a wormhole... but I don't want to be trapped inside so how many probed should I bring in case the WH collapse behind me? thanks. -

That depends on how forgetful / unlucky you are. If you expect to forget to scoop up your probes, then bring lots of extras. Likewise, if you expect alot of server disconnects, bring plenty of extras. If you don't expect either to be much of a problem then you don't need as many extras.

Core Launcher: holds 8 core probes Expanded Launcher: holds 100 core probes
I recommend at least 16 core probes.
Add at least 8 combat probes (use for checking for ships and towers) and 4 deep space probes is plenty (I only ever use one at a time) if you have an expanded launcher.

It depends a little bit on what you're flying and what implants you have. The more isk, the more redundancy is a good idea. It also depends on how long you plan on staying out, if your playtime brackets downtime, how stable your eve connection is and the class of wormhole you play in.
From my experience 4 isn't enough, 8 is a tiny bit risky and 12 is ample especially if you're happy to go back to regular space as soon as you lose a set. If you lose probes a lot (and even I don't and I have a memory like a sieve) then take more. Regular core probes are dirt cheap and don't take much space, but it's probably worth taking at least 4 sisters of eve for the scanning strength boost.

You can probe anyting in a WH with 4 probes, I usually take 2 more with me just in case. Even if you get kicked out of the server while your probes are out, you can pick them back once you're back online. You have a small button on the scanning interface that is called : reconnect to lost probes or something like that , so if you hit the button you will see again all your probes and be able to pick them up
