Edited by: Atropos Kahn on 09/07/2010 16:52:52 When WH's first came out, there were lots of lovely Miners and ANOM/SIG runners trying to earn their way through the wonderful world of EVE. Each day I would enter a new Wormhole to find all kinds of goodies to shoot at.
Nowadays, I am finding POS'd up ships and no evidence of any activity. Just drug labs and the occasional Carrier.
Have miners abandoned WS? Anyone still active in WS?

Maybe it has to do with the absolutely crap price of high-end minerals, combined with the absurd difficulty in transporting ore out the wormhole, or taking the intensive refine "hit", makes u-space mining a waste of time? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [GNSTR]

Very active. Miners and other wspace residents have learned how to spam the dscan button. A lot of Wspace miners also have cloaky alts hang around the exits and give early warning that an intruder is about. THAT is why you don't find anyone out of the POS while you are there. We adapted! My wspace corp has operations in several c2 and c3 w/h. We get dozens of "explorers" a day coming through our space. Occasionally we lose a hulk or 2 if someone is solo mining but if there's a mining or sleeper combat op going on, we have folks watching the exits all the time. By the time you get into the w/h, uncloak, drop probes recloak, We are all safely hidden away and either getting into pvp ships or just doing something else til you go away.

Hell, I don't even cloak in wormholes anymore. I just turn on a module and remain visible in the middle of no where but safe from probes :) - "Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in SightblinderĘs eye on the Last Day." - Robert Jordan |

just like an afk cloaker, except you lack the ability to surprise someone who goes plexing.

Hehe, I still have the cloak, I can just taunt people with my presence - "Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in SightblinderĘs eye on the Last Day." - Robert Jordan |

We've popped 14 exhumers, 16 mining barges and an orca in the last ~2 months, plus a bunch of gas miners that I can't be bothered to tally up. Yes, we're pro. OP is either unlucky or needs better tactics.

There's the reason. They've broken the first rule of any good drug dealer - never try the stuff you're selling.
Quote: The booster's only major drawback is the crazed notion that the pilot's inventory would be look so much better if merely rearranged ONE MORE TIME.
Quote: This booster induces a trancelike state whereupon the pilot is able to sense the movement of faraway items without all the usual static flooding the senses. Being in a trance helps the pilot hit those moving items with better accuracy, although he has to be careful not to start dreaming awake.
So,... apparently they are all rearranging their stuff and dreaming awake.

lot of people who used to mine in c3s/c2s have wised up and moved to c5s and c4s. The ore is better and the # of visitors is much lower. C5s can go 2-3 days without having a single visitor.

Mmmm 2 hulks barely got away before we warped in 2 days ago and we just popped 2 more hulks today with a converter making a thin escape. Mining in WH's is something we do when we have a site pop up in our system. Not something to go look for else where. I find that it is not to hard to find someone to attack when you live in WH space if you really want to look for them. Pirating is to much effort for me though. We are raiders :) Your sites or your ships your choice.

Mining wormholes is an enormous waste of time unless you meet the following requirements:
1) You own a Rorqual.
or
2) Your wormhole has a ridiculously large static high sec exit.
If you are mining in a wormhole without a rorqual, or without the exit then you are a complete and utter idiot.

Excellent I love it.
Team work working together for a common goal whil laughing all the way to the bank... While the whiners whine "we have no targets to shoot at"...
