Ok I know that this whine has probably been posted a thousand times before but maybe it just might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Please, oh please, sort out faction missions. I used to run every mission (Gallente) given in the vain hope that I might collect enough Caldari Captain III tags to get something from the LP store. I tried to buy them from the market as well. After six months I had less than a quarter of what I needed for one LP store item, while my Cald rating had gone through the floor. So I stopped doing faction missions.
Now I trundle through a few missions a week to keep my expensive habits going but I seem to keep hitting an Amarr block. My lovely agent (may her soul go lower than hades) has this fascination with offering me Amarr killing missions, then another as soon as I have refused the last. Now if these factions missions were of some use to a Gallente pilot (like there might just be the possibility of a Caldari Capt III tag; note that there are none for sale in Essence and only 9 at inflated prices in Everyshore) then I might actually do them, and finally give up the wonderful experience that being allowed into Jita space is. But no, all these stupid missions do is ruin my standing with a faction that I have no interest in.
So what do I do? Go and see if RoN will play on my new screen.

Did you try running L2 and L3 missions for those low level tags?

Ed: Also, removal of faction missions from L4s would make FW, Pirate missions, and L5s more profitable.

I'd love to see more anti-faction lvl4's, particularly minmatar, seeing as missioning for Amarr faction the only lvl 4 anti-faction mission we get is enemies abound, and only the last mission in the chain actually has any minmatar in it! (at least it's farmable)

I have ALWAYS stated that level 4 hi sec missions should be vs apposing factions, and low sec level 4 missions should have bounty missions as well as apposing factions.
this would force players to choose, hi sec missions generally have no real fallout..
this would also make tags more "common"
seriously tho how many mission runners goto jita? if they really want to goto jita so much change what faction you work for.

Even if CCP changed faction missions like you say, you wouldn't be better off...
If it gets better for you, it gets better for EVERYBODY!
Rewards in EVE are in effect given for EFFORT. Reduce the effort, and more people will do it and prices will drop until exactly the same earnings equilibrium is reached as today.
CCP has better things to do than make changes that won't have any real effect, and that is exactly what your suggestion will have: NO effect!

I too would like to see more anti-faction missions. Though you are not alone in your thinking that they should be removed or made optional, it is a bad game change. Most of us who have been around a while see the problems it would generate.
As for the amarr side, yeah, the lack of anti-minmatar lvl4's is really irritating. I get tons of gallente tags but never any amarr. I just can't bring myself to do the entire enemy's abound set, I typically reject the second mission. I get plenty of high captain and commander II tags off of lvl5's but I always find myself buying hundreds of commander I's and normal captains. They just don't drop in lvl5 missions and there really aren't any lvl4's that have minnies.

I'd have a mission menu on which I would have checkboxes for;
x Faction missions
x Courier missions
x Kill missions
etc.
- and if the agent had nothing to offer, then I'd get a screen stating this.
Frankly, the whole mission system is very crappy in it's current form and desperately requires a major overhaul (if for nothing else but a massive injection of variety).

Working as intended. If you want more tags, there's an easier way to appropriate them with no hit to your faction standing. You can have your cake and eat it too.

Is it a rock? Point a Lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship? Point a Lazer at it and profit. I dont realy see any differnces here. |

I thought I would have got more of the pointless replies like Lord Grimmas' but I'm pleased I haven't.
Just to clear a couple fo things up, I'm not advocating special circumstances for hi-sec, all the useful tags I have gained were from lo-sec lvl3 missions prior to the introduction of FW. If items can only be obtained from tags available in FW missions then don't effing offer them in non-FW lp stores. If that isn't the intention then at least give us faction missions that mean something.

I understand that but I also know a number of heavy duty mission runners that just move from one agent to another when they are given yet another faction mission. All this does is squeeze all the serious runners into a corridor of systems from which they can access a reasonable set of good agents, and the good agents too far from another get ignored.
There is no point in forcing people into a play style they don't like, they will just find an alternative, which may even include going to play WoW
