Taharqua10	Posted - 2010.07.10 16:55:00 - [1] Since plex is being given the same status as any other item really then why I can't I right click on 300 million worth of tec1 loot & get that converted immediately into game time? I have a lot of loyalty points as well should these be convertible directly into game time? The only reason for plex is the real dollar issue which brings hard currency into the game. Plex can NEVER be the same as other items- it has a unique position & making it like any other item is bending the rules in CCPS favour. CCP's time would be better spent fixing the numerous issues with the game & not changing a perfectly working mechanic. For that reason alone this change gets the big finger award for wasting precious resources which could be more fully utilised elsewhere

For the same reason you can't right-click→activate your PLEX and go blow stuff up with it. For the same reason you can't rclick→manage your PLEX and make it produce lovely moon goo for you. But that is in fact not the case. It seems they are merely unrestricting an in-game item that probably shouldn't have been restricted in the first place which makes the sandbox a more interesting place for all. The change really allows people who buy in-game items with isk to move said in-game item to another market (including low/null sec) where other players can benefit from purchasing PLEX with ISK without necessarily having to clone jump/travel to get it. You see, these folks who would trade PLEX probably trade other items as well, so the destruction of the in-game item is a known and accepted risk. I guess it goes back to something I learned early in eve, if you can't afford to lose it, don't undock in it... or with it.

You can see this in action around the times of school holidays etc, if you look at the market graph, prices will increase/decrease due to the greater/lesser supply/demand caused by RL "events". If PLEXes are destructible, and people lose PLEXes, supply will be LESS and prices will INCREASE.
