Fit scanners should show EHP cargo scanners should allow to filter out items.

Yep. Hopefully any upgrade would include the ability to view market details when right clicking an item of scanned cargo.

Only if the ship scanner only shows the EHP of the base ship with modules, not pilot skills affecting the actual EHP, also it would default to either modules being active or passive, maybe show both or let you choose ie it shouldn't tell you if the modules are 'on' or not.
The cargo scanner shouldn't filter results for you, but if that is added, methods of hiding cargo should be created such as shielded containers or a module that masks the hold.
No reason to make it so easy to gain intel on everyone with no risk in doing so as cargo and ship scanners don't cause aggro on use so using them is completely safe yet reaps the benefits of free information for which there is no counter with a ship scanner and a PIA counter for cargo scanning.

agreed, scan modules need to be fixed, need to find a role...
scanning while stealthed will make the work of covert ops, recon ships more diverse... but perhaps require a covops or t2 version of scanner along with covert ops cloak to function in reasonable time. (4-15 seconds depending on skills)

Like the idea of the stealth scanning too, if some type of counter could be made (the bar to all further progress with cloaking imo)

I was about to write this too. Not long ago, there was a suggestion that theese modules should work while your ship is cloaked, it could actually introduce covert operations in a real way. pretty please?...

I would like to add my support to the idea of reworking the UI of scanners.

Cloaking in general needs work, both in countering it, and in what is possible while cloaked.
Cloaked recon with a variety of useable scanners is a fun idea.
Personally, I think a form of sensor dampner that worked from within a cloaked ship makes sense. But then, I have an odd idea for 'fixing' cloaking that would be shot down by the 'cloaking ain't broke crowd' that the dampner works with.
Basically, I think Local as a default should be removed, and structures put in game that could be erected that would give the owners of that solar system the effect of local. Cloaking would counter that, but only about 90% at max skill vs. highest quality area scanner/Comm Nexus/whatever it's called. Then, you can get a cloaked ship up to it, and use sensor dampners on it to degrade it's function severly, hacking modules on it to gain it's info for yourself/your fleet, etc...
But that's not really what this is about.
I also agree with improving scanners in general.
