It seems t2 moon goo prices are going up. I'm just a budding trader, but I was told moon goo would stay pretty much where it was. What gives? I only have a few hundred million, should I use some of that to speculate? Sorry if the answer is obvious, just trying to make sense of it all. Thank you for your time.

well hmmm im guessing moon goo needs a pos and pos fuel has significantly increased since PI, so just my 2 cents that the cost is going down the tree.

Moon goo is the stuff dreams are made from :) It is harvested from moons with a pos, reactioned also in posses to form basic materials in t2 production. Expect the lower end of moon goo to rise significantly, the expensive end will not be hurt so much. How much? 50%-10% low to high would be my guess. The lowest moon goo is already a loss at current prices, so it really can only go up.

Wrong. Overall the cost to run a large pos is around 230m per month, compared to around 200m before Tyrannis.
But if ice prices starts rising again we are all doomed

Go up ice, go up. I sure hope ice goes up so I can sell the few million ice I have at some ridiculous price.

But why would you use your stockpiles to fuel the towers, when you could just sell the fuel and make more money, instantaneously?

No. I like you, trying to troll me. Its not free, but with a couple billion invested you can keep your towers running at the same price you have while waiting for prices to balance out.

Then you would lose out on the the business you are already running. Ie you have 8 large towers you have bought a years supply worth of fuel for. Every tower earns you 3.5b isk every month
You can either profit 24b each month running your current business or sell fuel and make uhm say x profit but x profit will be gone when you have to refuel the towers.
I just stock enough fuel to last a year or til the price settles.

Tech moons are around 2.6b a month. I was looking at it from a pure reaction standpoint but I can see how you can push 4b depending on how many raw mins you're mining. -----------------------------------

Actually I assume if you are running a moonmining operation 2b should be possible. It was just an example and the numbers was probably way off.
Hopefully ccp will adjust PI once bottlenecks are a problem.

It is very unlikely for low end moon goo to be affected by POS maintainance cost, unless said cost forces POSes to be offlined. Why? Because those POSes are used for other purposes and moon goo just helps to pay the bill. Low moon goo sells under cost price because it has massive supply in comparisson to demand, producers don't expect the goo to be profitable, it just helps to pay the bill of the POS used for other purposes. However, if POSes are offlined because of it, supply could go down and prices may rise until POS owners decide that benefits of POSes outwheight the costs (maintainance fee minus moon goo income). Couple that with serious POSers stockpiles and you'll get a better picture. Selling stockpiles for a profit does not account in most cases because most POSes are not onlined for direct profit.
