What are the mechanics for determining who gets the bounty for killing an NPC in a mission? killing blow? most damage? person with the aggro? mission owner?
The wrecks seem to belong to the mission owner regardless of aggro and who killed the NPC.

The bounty is split equally amongst all fleet members on grid and in fleet with the person performing the most damage. Apparently it used to go to the player landing the killing blow, but tests from forum members last year showed that this changed at some point. I have not verified this independently.

Thanks for the quick response.
I'm, uhm, mission ratting. In other people's missons. So there's no fleet. I am getting bounties, but I can't tell the specifics. I'm trying to avoid rediscovering the wheel. Do you have any good keywords that I can search the forum for previous data?

Sounds pretty obscure, but I'm betting on killing blow. Doesn't make a lot of sense to spend proc time calculating most damage, too many things to track, negligible incentives.
Easy to test however. |

The bounty is split equally between members of the fleet who are in the mission area with you.
If you are not in a fleet and you made the last blow, you get full bounty.

ok ur in a mission thats not urs and ur not in the guys fleet (u scanned it down)
1-(in fleet) if ur on grid u will collect a % based on the no. off people in fleet on grid. if its 2 of u the the bounty is split 50/50 bounties are only rewarded every 15 min
2-(not in fleet) if u shoot the rat and it is killed with in 15 min u will get a % (again) of the bounty, u dont have to stay on grid though, however if u leave the system or dock during that time u will not gwt it as you will have forced a session change (the rat will die after your session is up)
if u want to run someones mission like this then always stay behind the mission owner and only shoot what he dus once, (minimal cost all the gains)

If what the above poster said is true, I can appreciate the griefing potential it holds |

I wasn't completely sure about killing blow vs most damage to begin with (and still am not sure) so I originally looked for "eve online bounty split" and such. This and especially this turned up. If you run any tests on this yourself, please post back with results :)
Also, you're a bad, bad boy for ratting in other people's missions :D

Yeah, I finally found those threads.
I did (re-)discover that if you hover your mouse over the wallet entry for a bounty entry, you get a list of the ships that comprise the bounty. After manually tallying the individual ship bounties in the wallet entries, I see that I'm getting full bounties, so there's no splitting going on.
I took Alt Alpha into a level 1 mission. Alt Beta then dinged the NPCs with a civilian gun and Alt Alpha killed the NPCs. Alt Beta didn't get any bounty and Alt Alpha got full bounties. Doesn't look like you get any partial bounty based on partial damage.
Killing blow might be correct. I'll test it later by getting an npc down to 1% hull and then using a different alt to kill it.

Fixed it for you. Plus, I did discover a great mystery; inside of a cleared out mission (or maybe it was a plex in .9 high-sec space?) I found a blue container containing a stack of cap booster 800s and a Gist X-Type X-Large shield booster. Not only do I find mysteries annoying (if you have cap, how do you fail with an X-Type XL?,) but it also caused an anomalous spike in my isk/min metrics of ~83M isk/min for that particular run. *grumble*
