Hi Thar :)
Seeing how the old project is dead (http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=838892) and I'm being hit with requests and lots of juicy downloads from people switching over to FGV. It's probably a good time to make a new thread since it's been out for a while. However feel free to EVEMail me with requests or if you're having problems installing. Sorry for all the numbering changes. It's been sorted out now.
So the main changes from the old version to this version are below. Download/Update Files here and some instructions(http://iceneko.com/eve/index.html):
New Install(Yes, you can do brand new installs with FGV): POSTracker3_0rc5FGV.rar Upgrade(3.0.0rc5 to FGV 3.0): FGVUpdate.rar Upgrade(FGV 3.0 to 5.0.1): POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_1.rar
Version 3.0 to 5.0.1 Changes:
* Changed version numbering scheme due to confusion with other people's version and mine. We are now on version 5 because 5 is an awesome number. * Added Secret POS feature. People who are allowed to see the Secret POSes are people who are deemed "Highly Trusted" or if they are fuel techs of the tower. The only one that can change "secretive" status of a tower is the default admin account. Functionality added under the edit POS area. * Implemented several security checks to stop low access accounts see or do what they shouldn't be able to. * Added Stront Timer option on the pos track page. * Material Volume updates for: Atmospheric Gases, Caesium, Crystalline Carbonide, Evaporite Deposits, Fernite Carbide, Hydrocarbons, Silicates, Sylramic Fibers, and Titanium Carbide. (Requires a DB update)
Original 3.0 Version to FGV 3.0:
* New Theme. * Updated m3 values to match EVE Tyrannis Expansion. * pos_val.php added to control m3 values if they ever were to be changed again by CCP instead of manually updating 64+ value locations in the code. * Optimal is calculated correctly now on both the POS view and edit pages. * Difference is calculated correctly now on both the POS view and edit pages. * "Available" on POS page now shows what's actually in the database(API should be updated via CRON or manually before making fuel runs/changes to make sure values match what's currently on Tranquility). * Online time is now shown accurately and will still countdown the right time even if the API or Tower is not updated. * Fuel Calculator and Fuel Bill updated to new m3 values. * Liquid Ozone and Heavy Water calculated correctly for POS with sovereign status. (This requires a DB update.) * Total Difference in m3 added in the POS view page to help fuel techs know how much space will be taken on fueling the tower(does not add Strontium Calthrates to the total). * Removed code from the design layout pages and linked back to the actual code to pull data. * Several commented code and redundant functions removed making this POS Tracker a better tool for us all.
Hopefully I didn't leave anything out. :P -FG

Thank you for providing an update.
However, can you please provide an option to use the old colourscheme? The current theme with its pale background is causing me eyestrain and I find the tracker almost unusable due to this |

Upgraded from 3.05rc to FG version...then 3.0FG to 5.0 version.
Seems to be working OK....except....
I have someone who could see POS's just fine and now they cannot see anything. I've updated them to Director and Highly Trusted and they still cannot see a single POS on their account. I've logged in using their user/pass and I can see it is a problem with their account.
Also....our users are really objecting to the new theme. They are complaining about it causing eye strain. Can the old theme still work with your version?

It's on the todo list, more like a color scheme selection. I had a bunch of requests to get rid of the old scheme so I switched it. I've been out for a bit so now that I'm back, more updates that I've been working on are soon to come out. The theme selection will happen soon I hope lol. But the new theme has been liked a LOT more than the old thus why I haven't spent time on bringing the old one back.
I almost wonder if you guys are seeing something else I do not. Like the themes aren't mixing with one another. Hrmm.

Are they and the towers part of the same corp? Also, feel free to contact me in game like others do and we can get a convo going.

Edited by: Frozen Guardian on 15/08/2010 21:30:13 Version 5.0.2 Released. Details below. There were a lot of changes to make all of this so if you notice anything wrong please let me know immediately.
Version 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 Changes:
* Fuel Bill layout now matches what is shown while viewing towers to make it easier to look between the two. * Fuel Calculator now allows you to show the optimal fuel levels and see what's required to match the optimal. Hauling trips included. * Fuel Calculator's "Use Current Level" stays to what you set it at while on the page as opposed to being turned back "on" after looking up a tower. Default is now off due to change. * Fuel Bill now displays optimal fueling by default(new option) as it makes far more sense than selecting days that may not be reachable by all POS towers. Please note that when optimal is on, days filter does not take effect at all. * Massive style coding cleanup(CSS file now 1/3rd the size it used to be and pages are much more CSS clean). * Fixed Secretive POS problem not showing towers for directors. * Fixed write/config greyed out bug for new installs that would happen based on server configurations. * Themes! - The FGV Theme will be default but the old theme and a few others are now available for each user under the user panel. (Requires DB Update) * Tower name is now shown on the fuel bill per requests.
Theme Versions included in 5.0.2: *FGV - Default, what you see today and default for all. *POS Tracker Original - What you used to see before I took over. The theme is really close to the original, it couldn't be exact due to the cleanup but uses the same colors and setup as before. *Majesta Empire *Razor Alliance *Morsus Mihi
Note on Themes: Currently there are four additional themes as you see above. I do plan on adding more when I have time(yes, some of SC and various other alliances, not just the NC) or if people make their own and want me to include there version I will. I made these themes based on the logos of the alliances.
Remember to do your DB update: POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_2.rar

Excellent got it working thanks.
I notice in the readme there is a mention of having it auto update by running a cron job on some .sh files. How would I run these on windows as it doesn't recognise the file extension.
I'm particularly interested in getting it to email me when fuel gets low.

Good to hear!
I've only setup cron jobs on Linux based systems so I'm not fully sure here, try the ideas below or maybe it will help you out.
Kinda confusing response here but:
The problem is that .sh are shell script files usually ran on like Unix\Linux based systems so you're going to need something that does this for you. However at the same time since you're on a windows system you can probably just run the code inside the .sh files with task scheduler as shown here: http://drupal.org/node/31506
So you wouldn't point to the .sh files, you would point to like: cron_updatesov.php cron_updateallianceinfo.php cron_updatepos.php
Best way to test to make sure this work is don't manually update the alliance info for a few hours then have your task schedule "run now" and see what happens.

Just for clarification - is cron_mail.php still used to send the mails, or has this now been moved into another part of the script?
Running the cron_mail.php results in a whole lot of nothing being sent :)

Thanks for maintaining and improving this tool.
I decided to go with a fresh install of 5.0.2 but am having problems with api's. Using the installer, when I get to the API step, enter a userid/key (tried several) and click next, the next page takes forever to load. It's as though something is timing out and when the character selection page loads this error is at the top of the page: "Error: String could not be parsed as XML".
The characters on the account are displayed and I can select one, but no pos data seems to load. Doing a POS update from API on the admin panel causes the same 5+ minute delay and no POS data loads.
Any idea what's going on?

I haven't touched the mail feature at all since the original and I probably need to because it's crap. It's on my wonderful todo list among other various changes but I'm going to be very busy as of late IRL(yay fun) so it maybe a bit before I get around to touching this. Sorry I can't help more with it.

Hrmm hard to say as I've never come across this or heard of this happening before until today. If I had a guessing there would be two possibilities, the first being that the API is actually wrong/screwed up and you should create a new API key with EVE(make sure to use full API). The other thing is that your server doesn't support a needed feature.
Make sure during the install that your server supports or matches the following: * PHP version 5.1.2 or higher * cURL extension * SimpleXML extension

Thanks for the link to the drupal site, works a treat with the wget program. All updating nicely now :)
Are the remaining hours calculated at page display time or are they held in the database somewhere as I would like to try and get these being emailed to me if they get too low but the mail script doesn't seem to work for me.
Appreciate the time and effort your putting into this.

They are actually stored in the database and calculated out from there. So it goes off the API directly so like what's in the database is what's shown in the viewpos area to make sure it doesn't guess how much is in there as what it did in the past. Guessing = Bad

I know heavy water and L0 do calculate perfectly in all versions and functions of FGV. If they didn't I would have some people strangling me by the neck until they did. There is only two small bugs that don't match anything like this so this would be a first.
If you are having such an issue you will have to be a bit more specific with the following information:
What version are you on? Did you upgrade from another version? (i.e. POS Tracker Original 3.0.0 rc5) What page are the numbers not showing correctly? Does this happen with all towers? If only some towers, what model tower is being used and what is the CPU/PG on it?

5.0.3 Released, small fix so no new installer in this version yet. Bug was caused when I made the Fuel Bill page have optimals and forgot that the Fuel Calc page uses the same function of code. Sorries about that :P
Version 5.0.2 to 5.0.3 Changes: * Fuel Calculator bug fixed where days didn't affect the amount of fuel needed. * Fuel Calculator options current levels and optimal levels are now set to on by default.

Hi,
The LO and HW are definitely not displaying correctly.
I installed completely from scratch your versions and all the updates including latest from post above.
Using caldari large tower, current cpu / power matches 100% (5650 / 2250000) between eve and pos tracker and the values for all of the modules match up as well.
All the figures which show on the fuel calculator page are ok except for 21 days of LO and HW it shows 75600 for both of them as total required and 0 for what I need (I have 50k of each in for this test).
Working it out by adding the fuel into the tower manually and looking at the management page, the actual needed amounts are 61993 LO and 57000 HW to get it to show 21d usage for them.

Re-download the 5.0.3 update and apply it and you should be good to go for the most part. Not sure why it worked for me at times and others not but anyhow. For HW/LO under "You Need" is now fixed.
Amazing what 5 letters can do to a line of code.

Downloaded the above again and installed it.
It's now showing numbers in the 'you need' column although optimal is 0 for LO and HW though.
The numbers in the total required column though are still wrong.
It still shows them as 75,600 for both LO and HW for 21 days when the correct figures according to the management tab on the tower itself are actually 61993 LO and 57000 HW (give or take a little to account for rounding) which was achieved by adding fuel to the tower until it showed 21 days.
I tried removing some modules which are offline incase it was not accounting for them in the 75600 but it made no difference.

Wait what? Optimal Need has never had an issue. What does it say when you look at the tower itself? Are the L0 and HW right there and it's just broken on the calculator? I copied what you said exactly and it works without issue.

Hi,
I uploaded some pics for you and mailed you the url.
The pics were done with same settings as what the pic of the fuel in the tower shows (18d 10h i think it was). There is a slight discrepancy with the numbers as a pos tick happened while taking them.

I see the issue. The problem is using structures to calculate the CPU/PG. Works on the POS View page because the information is there on what structures are available. Not so much for other pages because it was never made to do so. It never touches the database's information on the tower's CPU/PG. Sweet. Never seen it before because I know the structure information isn't the greatest and we just entered in the CPU/PG right from the tower.
Since I've never touched this area of the tracker it's probably going to need a bit of changes that may take a bit. Basically, a re-write of how it handles structure information.
So in the mean time if you want the correct information I would suggest removing all structures and putting in the CPU/PG manually based on what you actually see when you open up tower information in game. If you want to see what structures are on the tower, I guess you can put them in anchored mode instead of online because then it doesn't override your manual entry of the CPU/PG on the tower then.

Really glad to see that youve decided to keep the project alive. Thanks !!! Just two suggestions for the next version:
- Production: Is it possible to fix the silo linking problem ? Whenever you link an output silo to another and the initial one gets full it shows all the other linked silos as being full too and the timers in brackets are completely off.
- Access: If i dont assign fuel techs to the towers I have a problem where people that have the fuel tech role still get to see the towers but the fuel calculator list as well as fuel bill are completely empty. Id like to be able to decide whether I want fuel techs to work on all towers. Maybe an option to "assign to all"
Thanks again for your efforts

Production Fix request added.
As for the access thing, this is a matter of preference unfortunately. I went back and forth on what to do here because some people have different ideas on how they should work. It does need a bit more tweaking.
There is a group though that can see everything like you want: "View-All Manager". They can basically see all towers no matter what unless they are put into secretive mode. However if you want them to see the secretive towers too, just make them a "View-All Manager" and "Highly Trusted".

Cheers for the response and for adding the silo fix to the list.
As far as the access issue goes the current situation for the Fuel Tech role is this:
If you dont assign specific fuel techs to towers then they can see the full list of towers on the POS Track sheet (except the secretive ones until you make them trusted)
Now the problem is that whilst they can see all the towers, they cant use the Fuel Calculator or Fuel Bill to calculate how much fuel needs to go into the specific towers.
Basically the idea is that when a tower is not assigned then anyone with the fuel tech role should be able to use the Calculator or Bill for it.
Unfortunately, anything above Fuel Tech also gives access to Production which is something that you want an extra layer of security on.
Maybe a quick fix is the creation of a role for "View all POS Fueler" that gives the same access as the current "View All Manager" except for the production tab ?
Cheers

What are you looking for exactly to be doable in the MoonDB Addon. I haven't spent much time in there but I can take a gander if you tell me what you want to see or benefit.
Glad you like my version. You join the crowd of hundreds ^^

Onyc Chick: I see what you're saying. I'm going to be making some changes to how the rolls are handled or add more roles over the next month here. Sucky part with roles is it requires a LOT of testing. :(

Found an Issue with Sov and changing allaince.
the Sov Status does not update when you join an Allaince
Only way i could find to update, is deleting the Tower and re-adding via API.
As for the MoonDB. Well just be able it import from a file or DotLan..... i have no idea if it will be of any use though...

Edit found a typo in viewpos.tpl , line 264 Missing < <td class="mcolor">!--[$tower.required_strontium]--></td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$tower.required_strontium]--></td>
Thanks for the heads up! < added lol. I'll look Sov thing, kinda hard to replicate since well kinda have to join and leave alliances and see what the API does lol but I'll check it out. Just got back into the groove of things from moving so I should have some more updates down the pipe here soon and some news(maybe).

I'm trying to do a fresh install, but i'm running into trouble.
I created a database called 'pos' and i have a usr that can do everything with it.
when i go to the /install.php page, it checks permissions and versions etc. I can write the config, and the file does get updated, but then whin i het the button 'install tables' nothing happens. No tables are created in the database and the spinner in front of the button just keeps spinning, no error or anything is produced.
this is the output on the top of the page:
Quote: Thank you for choosing POS-Tracker 5.0.2. FG Version! Please fill the form to set the database information. Current PHP version: 5.2.14-pl0-gentoo (Needs to be greater than 5.1.2) Your CURL Version: 7.20.0 Required Modules Installed CURL: Yes SimpleXML: Yes Hash: Yes Register_globals: cache/template_c: OK eveconfig/dbconfig.php: OK
There is nothing after 'Register_globals:', they are on. Another thing is that i'm not using a local mysql server, but one on another host.
I hope anyone can help with this... thnx No La

Hi,
Register_globals should be off as that's one of the requirements. If you can't get it to install that's probably the reason right there. The POS Tracker unfortunately is very very picky on its requirements. As for running off an external MySQL, that shouldn't be a problem as the tracker can connect perfectly fine to those sort of setups.

Just one more thing...
Would it be possible to have a way to update all the fields in the production tab in one go ?
Maybe a Update All button that we can prez once weve inputed all the silo levels that we want changed ?
Its really tedious having to update each field one by one..
Cheers

Feature Request:
Not sure if this is within the scope, but I'll ask anyway.
Could there be a combined (POS + Hanger) fuel count?
You could see how long all the fuel at the POS would last.

5.0.4 Version Released.
Version 5.0.3 to 5.0.4 Changes: * Updated access for mailer. Due to added security changes, the mailer program lost access to check towers correctly in some cases. * posmail.sh file added to help people utilize the mailer program. Recommend cron job runs every 12 hours. (don't accidentally replace your version if you made something yourself) * Fixed viewpos.tpl typo. - Thx Donna Vecchi * Tyrannis change added. Removed charters requirement from 0.4 systems. Towers already within the program will have to removed and readded to reflect the change or manual DB update for charters_needed on the tower needs to be set to 0. * Production page now has one update button to update all rows at once based on what's changed. * Production page now has full on security. (e.g. If a fuel tech you can only see your tower's production.)
----------------------------------
Other info:
"is this the actual version?" <-- ?? Not sure what you're asking there but this is the POS-Tracker with my updates.
"Could there be a combined (POS + Hanger) fuel count?" <--Added to list of things to look at
"Maybe a Update All button that we can prez once weve inputed all the silo levels that we want changed ?" <--Completed for ya. Hehe I was doing my other changes today and saw that, was like sure lets do that now too. :)
"Unfortunately, anything above Fuel Tech also gives access to Production which is something that you want an extra layer of security on." <--Changed that too.
I've been seeing more things that could be fixed and I've been getting a lot of requests of stuff to look at and change so I'll keep working away here for ya. I'm only one person though so be patient and I'll reward your request eventually I hope ^^

1st with themes
Unknown column 'theme_id' in 'field list'UPDATE pos5_user SET theme_id = '1' WHERE id = '2'
and with View-all Manager and director, the POSes do not show at all. Only way for people to see POSes, I must add them as a fuel tech to that POS.
Also, i've noticed when you click "update corp/alliance" it does not update it. I've checked my database and those fields are still empty.

I've checked my database and those fields are still empty.
and I've also noticed you only need to enter 1 field to change the PW. Dont need to confirm it.
A few things here.
1 Error. You need to run the actual updates for each: Navigate to http://example.com/pos/upgrade.php but since you have a different location install ha, the update file never thought of that. Bah with updates.
That's why you're seeing the theme errors is because you have no theme field in your database. Edit the file here:
\install\upgrade\502.sql and change
ALTER TABLE `pos3_user` ADD `theme_id` TINYINT( 2 ) NOT NULL AFTER `highly_trusted` ;
To
ALTER TABLE `pos5_user` ADD `theme_id` TINYINT( 2 ) NOT NULL AFTER `highly_trusted` ;
. Then run the 5.0.2 upgrade again.
2. Are you a member of the corp that controls the tower? The tracker was only meant to show you towers when you match the corp.
3. You should be able to click update corp/alliance and it works but make sure to be ingame. If you're not ingame it doesn't work.
4. Ahh passwords, yeah I can see about adding a confirmation, just no one's requested it before lol. Always been that way hehe.

Thanks for the response!
I'll be sure to try those steps. I probably should have left it to pos3 but I thought what harm would it do to change it lol =P.
I do fuel the POS but the problem is when a Director or someone who needs to view all POSes registers for the site. I want to set their access to View-All Manager so they can see all the POSes but changing the access doesn't grant that to the user.
Also for the poscron.sh
I get this error.

What PHP version are you running? That error doesn't make much sense but it sounds like it can't get the default timezone from your PHP installation on the server. Odd thing to say but is date enabled on your PHP installation?
Create a test like file with .php extension and just put in
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
save and see if you can see something like:

Frozen Guardian - Something they've started doing with PHP5.3 and even some of the 5.2 series is to require that you set time zone. You can simply add date_default_timezone_set('GMT'); to your init stuff and not worry about it anymore they are going away from have a default time zone in the default PHP config and you have to set it as needed. I added the above a few months back when it started being a problem in Yapeal. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for Eve API.

Interesting thx for that information never knew that. However in POS Tracker's case, that information is already there. That's the error he's getting is setting the default timezone to GMT lol.
So why would his PHP version not like setting the default time zone? I've never seen that before.

Update here on the Silo issue that a few people reported. I've been unable to duplicate it in any sense. At first I thought I had the problem but actually I just didn't really know how to do silo linking(got a crash course in it from someone who does production stuff daily) but now I've run into no issues at all. It was a bit confusing at first because it wasn't really clear but as of right now it's working 100% correctly and I can't get it to break. I've tried different reactions, materials, silos full, silos not full, silos linking to one or the other, different towers, different times of emptying silos, different everything for over the past two weeks and I can't seem to get it to break.
I also know that there are others just like me having no issues at all so I'm really having a hard time trying to find out where the problem lies because if I can't make it happen there is nothing I need to fix. I'm not calling you all crazy yet so if you could send me a screenshot(post to imgur) on here or in PM of what's under "Silo Hanger Arrays" when viewing a POS I will duplicate your setup and see if I can get the problem to happen. Please make sure to crop the selection so I just see this, I really don't want to know where you have a POS up and running ^^

The code between lines 360 to 394 has been commented out in our version of editpos.php
This leads to a Smarty error on the Edit POS display. (Variables expected by the page template are missing).
Is this a known issue or has someone made a change to our installed code?

Between lines 369 and 394 the code is commented out in POS Tracker FGV. The code is no longer needed and is part of the future cleanup project to remove completely. I don't like to remove anything in the off chance its needed later since I still don't know the complete ins and outs of the tracker's backend.

add: after some dances with a tambourine, managed to found out, that problem in adding reactor\moon harvester from postracker tool, imported from mypos structures are ok, and everything works just fine.
So when you added a moon harvester from the tool itself the production was all screwed up? Everything was fine until that?
The production area is a crazy mess and I'll try and get it sorted out here.

Sounds like the database is missing some few rows of information. Make sure your database fully installed. I would try a complete re-install if possible and make sure it meets ALL requirements before installing. Even if it lets you install, the requirements still need to be met.

1. For the Themes did you do the Update on your tracker: http://example.com/pos/upgrade.php for "Theme Install - v5.0.2" . If you did, then I'm guessing it hasn't actually gone through. I missed the file during the full on installer. If you get the download: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_2.rar and then navigate to the extracted files: POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_2\install\upgrade there is a 502.sql file. Put that in the same location on your server and try the upgrade again. It should work for you.
2. As for XML Cache it sounds like in your installation you don't have access for the server to write to the cache directory. So make sure to give more access to the pos/cache directory.

Edited by: Solinaar on 21/12/2010 01:51:35 Hi
Firstly, thanks for keeping the project going. Long looked at this, but first time installer....
Trying to do a fresh install of 5.0.2 on an ubuntu server, and am hitting a 500 error message, when trying to access the install.php installer via internet explorer 8, while in firefox I just get a blank screen returned.
I tried connecting instead to just the standard index file, and and getting a "database initialisation" message, so it does seem the folders are in the correct location?
Should I be manually updating the dbconfig for the database details prior to running install.php?
Any other troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

Any other troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.
your server has something configured wrong. Are other php pages working fine? What php version do you have? Also, check your apache and other error log files.

That's what I'm thinking...
- phpmyadmin and Drupal both working
- Php5
- Ah....
Looks like a permissions issue. PHP Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/var/www/pos/cache/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /var/www/pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
Not sure why, I had set chmod to allow writable access as per FGV's instructions...

Retried setting the permissions, for both cache and eveconfig, and still not working.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
Try setting the group to www-data: chgrp -R www-data /var/www/pos

Bingo......
Okay, Ive now got it all installed (after realising I didn't have curl, or simpleXML), and I have to say all in all I'm very impressed.
I've installed all the updates included in 5_0_2, but coming to install 5.0.3 and 5.0.4, and I'm not exactly sure what is expected.
Do I use the inbuilt upgrade function, or do I replace the files within the existing installation?
Any advice appreciated.
Just replace the files in the matching locations. Most people can just drag and drop into their FTP and it should nicely replace the files with the new versions :)

Hi Thar :)
I know releases have been a bit quiet so I figured since I've been working on the tracker for the past 6 hours I should take a break and do a small xmas holiday status update for you :P
(yes yes go tell me to go back to work)
I have duplicated that stupid silo linking bug. Looks like the problem rarely happens if you have only two silos linked but if you have more than 2 linked to each other it can bug out if numbers become uneven. Going to dive into this more next week since I can actually duplicate it now.
FGVersion full on downloads have reached close to 400 and updates from other versions to FGV around 200. That's a lot of tracker installs!
I've started hosting other corporations POS Trackers as people have requested and plan on doing more if people want here in the future. Cost is 20mil isk per month(currently). I provide all the updates for ya when it comes time for an update plus troubleshooting when ya need it. So if you wish to have one hosted please contact me in game.
Upcoming Patch Notes of 5.1.1 Beta 1 (details I can release so far). I want this beta to come out around the week of New Years so if I have to hold off on some items being in beta I will. Then if beta goes good, official release a week later or so in mid to late January.
Version 5.0.4 to 5.1.1 Beta 1 Changes:
* Missing Session Variable Added - Thx Salvoxia * Corporation Jobs Added. Get to see who's making what in your POSes without ever having to log in to EVE * Charters now have optimal correctly * Fixed Session Security Hole * Directions added for Updating Corp/Alliance on User Page. Page needs to be trusted otherwise corp gets set to null. * Notes page * Install.php security check * "Modular" Roles/Access:
So one item really requested was more control of who can do what in the POS Tracker because the roles were too generic currently. Especially if an alliance is using one tracker. On top of that, with another feature coming in that shows what's being made by the corporation only certain people should be able to see this. Plus in the future as EVE expands and more features get added it will be much easier to control access.
Here are the new grantable access controls list(note if they are a fuel tech(primary or secondary) they will be able to access the tower:
- API Data Update
Add Towers Manually View All Same Corp Towers Edit All Same Corp Towers View All Same Corp Secret Towers View All Other Corp Towers Edit All Other Corp Towers View All Other Corp Secret Towers View All Corporation Jobs View All Past Corporation Jobs View All Production Jobs Edit All Production Jobs Fuel Restocker View Notes Add Notes
Admin Only:
- API Key Manager
Manage Moon Database User Access Remove Users Disable Users
Happy holidays to all and fly safe!
Hopefully I have a new years present for ya soon :P

FG,
First off, from the looks of it, this tool is widely appreciate by many in the EVE community and I look forward to also using and helping you improve upon it. That said, I'm having an issue with the very beginning installation.
Initially, I get this:
Current PHP version: 5.3.2 (Needs to be greater than 5.1.2) Your CURL Version: 7.21.0
Required Modules Installed
CURL: Yes SimpleXML: Yes Hash: Yes Register_globals: cache/template_c: OK eveconfig/dbconfig.php: OK
So, I type in all my variables, I have a completely separate database and user created for this as well, with the appropriate permissions. I click Test, it seems fine, I click Write, 7 variables are changed, I click Install, and from this point forward nothing else happens. There is an icon spinning on the page but it appears to just be looping .gif file.
So I figured, maybe it worked, okay and just didn't update beyond that button; the database I told it to work with, has no modifications, not a single table has been created.
Bare in mind I've followed the directions listed here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/index.html to the i, as well as tried my own variations.
No luck. All of this was done with FireFox. I next tried IE 8, no joy there as well, same occurrence. I've read through this forum for an attempt to find an answer, yet I didn't find one.
Thank you in advance,
Aedaric Director of P0RN. |

lol nice director title.
The problem is register_globals because it needs to show: "Register_globals: Off" when the server is setup correctly. So you need to figure out how to turn off register globals on your server setup and then it should install fine :)

Roger,
Do you know what that has to deal with? Perhaps the database? Or the permissions of the user? Web? Any starting point may drastically reduce the search time.
Thanks,

EDIT: First thing I clicked on was PHP Configuration for my host and I noticed this line:
Data Handling | register_globals | On
You should do your best to write your scripts so that they do not require register_globals to be on; Using form variables as globals can easily lead to possible security problems, if the code is not very well thought of.
...So I'm assuming it can't be that one...
Thanks,
I don't think you actually read my message. Register globals must be OFF. As in your PHP config must have register globals as OFF. You can not install the POS Tracker unless your setup has register globals set as OFF.
On a side note, the POS Tracker was wrote this way years ago to force that register globals be off before installing. The coders knew what they were doing and all my scripts require register globals to be OFF. If you were to turn register globals back on after install, the tracker would shoot itself.
So. Register globals must be OFF. Your setup has it turned ON. So you need to turn them off.

Hi,
Is there any way to set an old offline tower so that it doesn't keep sending out mails? We have a few offlined abandoned towers that keep spamming us and I can't figure out any way to flag them so they stop generating the emails.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Unfortunately no. I'll look into a quick fix today though see if there's something that can be easily changed just to ignore them.

Will include this in future updates or even make it configurable but until then here you go(tested on 5.0.4 installs):
http://www.iceneko.com/eve/cron_mail.zip
Was actually fairly easy to accomplish. Spammed myself and seems to work great so the spam for pointless towers should be gone.
The update will set the mailer to NOT email on towers in "Unanchored" or "Anchored" status. It will spam on all other statuses.

Hi,
Quickly the POS Silo issue is well known, eventually I'll get around to fixing silo links.
As for the other bug you reported. To put it plain and simple, you're not running my version, or if you are, it's not correctly installed/updated/etc. Info shown below.
I first duplicated your setup in ME space even as shown here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/me_tower_test.png
As you can see, the LO shows 106 with the exact same setup on my test installation as you had in your picture. Same tower, sov and all. So a 5.0.4 install works fine on my end.
Then I noticed something that I knew immediately as you're not running my version or something isn't installed correctly because if you notice on LO and HW you have the numbers (113) next to it and not (112.5). The numbers 112.5 started showing back in my first fixes to the original POS tracker because FGV handles rounding correctly for EVE. The original POS tracker was close but not correct.
So it looks like your installation is bad or you're missing some files while upgrading towards 5.0.4.
If you have any questions please let me know.

Might be a problem with the new install. The server Mihai1 is using is a clean install 5.0.2 then updated to 5.0.3 and 5.0.4
If you look at the install_database.sql from 5.0.2, table "sovereignty_static", fields ozone and heavy_water are int(10). BUT in update 333.sql, that fields are decimal(10,2). From your screenshot it seems that you have a setup with that 2 fields as decimal(10,2). Not sure which one is right, but with decimal(10,2) seems to give better results.

Ahhh ha...did you do the 3 updates after the new install?
"FG Update for Tyrannis" "Material Volume Fix - v5.0.1" "Theme Install - v5.0.2"
Because that's still required even if you did the 5.0.2 install. Which I put in the instructions here: http://iceneko.com/eve/index.html
Sorry that it's confusing. But yes, it needs to be the decimal version. The new full on installer which is coming "soon" doesn't require all these updates as it's all integrated.

Bug Noted. I was going to release a simple fix for it but it looks like the item ID is incorrect for the Large Ship Assembly Array in the POS tracker, which causes a conflict when wanting to add the X-Large Ship Assembly Array. So I'll release the DB update in the next version.

Why dont you use tar.gz? RAR isnt freeware
Also whats with the upgrade bladibla right after install? why not make a unified install package that is current, makes things a lot easier for everyone, without necessarily meaning a lot of extra work for the dev.

Ewww. I don't like that. Not one bit good sir. Is it possible for you to go down to php 5.2? Tracker hasn't been made to support php 5.3+ so I'm guessing there maybe a few things like this laying around. I'll add it to the list of todo fixes(which is getting quite long lol). Yeah it looks like the phpmailer that came with the tracker is version 2.2.1 and the latest version is 5.1 so it's a ye bit out of date I see here.

I cannot figure out why. I did just recently completely remove and do a fresh install of pos-tracker since my 'upgraded' version of FGV wasn't doing some calculations.
my cron scripts still run with no problems, but I cannot figure out why emails are not being generated at all???
Any idea on where I should start looking to debug this?

EDIT: doh! I forgot to copy over mailconfig.php from my old install to the new install....that would certainly explain why mails were not going through!
Just a suggestion...you might want to add a note about configuring mailconfig.php to your installation instructions. I just followed your fresh install instructions and thought I was sweet...I completely forgot about the mail configuration bit.
Also, I think I found a minor bug in the pos3_user table...it was missing the Theme_ID field so I could not customize my theme and have it 'stick'. I manually added that field in and now it all seem sweet.
php 5.2.4
The Theme_ID means you're missing an update. Make sure you do all 3 updates eve on a fresh install. The upgrade packages were not pushed in with the full install. The final update maybe in error now due to the manual add but if you are able to switch themes you can just ignore that update. But please make sure to do the other two if you haven't otherwise calculations will be off.
# Navigate to http://example.com/pos/upgrade.php # Select: "FG Update for Tyrannis" from the list and select Next. # Select: "Material Volume Fix - v5.0.1" from the list and select Next. # Select: "Theme Install - v5.0.2" from the list and select Next.
As for the fyi notes on installation and stuff. Yeah 100% agree with the helpful tips. I'm working on putting in a help section within the tracker. It should help alleviate a lot of questions I get and help people do correct installations that work for them.

Edited by: Frozen Guardian on 13/02/2011 20:42:43 5.1.1 Beta 1 Released
Please note some fun information: It's a beta for a reason. Due to such huge changes on how the POS Tracker's access system now works there may be some bugs that you hate. If you do not feel comfortable with installing updates I recommend you wait.
If you upgrade your tracker, you will have to redo everyone's access. Complete details on how to give someone access is listed in the new help section in the tracker. There is currently no way to have "sub-admins" right now like directors were in the previous version(this will change in the future most likely). So you will probably want to make sure cron jobs are setup for doing API pulls.
If you come across a bug not listed or talked about here or on http://code.google.com/p/pos-tracker-eve/issues/list let me know in some way shape or form.
Update and Full Installer is here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/index.html. The newest full installer contains all previous patches so no more DB updates after a full install.
Downloads now come in 4 formats: .7z, .rar, .tar.gz, & .zip! If for some reason you can't find one you like then I dono anymore.
Version 5.0.4 to 5.1.1 Beta 1 Changes: * Complete re-write of the POS-Tracker's access system. Administrators/CEOs now have far greater control of what a user can and cannot do in the tracker. * Corporation Jobs Added. * Charters now have optimal correctly. * Fixed Session Security Hole. * Admin page now checks for install.php which should be removed/renamed for security reasons after installation is complete. * Fixed Show Stront Timers from accidentally showing while sorting POS Track listing. * Mailer updated to NOT email about towers in "Unanchored" or "Anchored" status. It will spam on all other statuses. * Directions added for Updating Corp/Alliance on User Page. Page needs to be trusted otherwise corp gets set to null. * Central Version File Added. * Version check added on Admin Panel. * Help page added which is accessible in the footer. * Tracker now properly supports multiple corporations. * Missing Session Variable Added. - Thx Salvoxia
--- First bug: I apparently do not know how to spell the word accessible. Sigh.

This is a great tool, but I am struggling to set up the tool to track reactions. Part of the issue is I am not sure what the tool is suppose to do in this regard so its a big hard for me to reverse engineer how is should be configured. Is there a manual for this tool, or at least and example of a properly configured reaction?
Here some examples of my confusion/questions:
What is the difference between "connected to" and linked? the config asks for both.
Input / output is with reference a reaction right? It is common to have silo's with both inputs and outputs. What then?
Is starting amount required or can you just let the API catch it up?
Thanks,

Hi,
It's a bit confusing unfortunately. It's something I'm going to look at during this next update soon as I've had a lot of questions about setting this up. I've gotten several help requests of people who are just a bit confused like yourself. So don't worry, you're not the only one :P Example of a simple setup: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/images/reaction_1.png
So details:
CCP currently does not provide any API data for silos/reactions/what's in and out at towers. It's all manual.
So in our example here lets say we are making lovely Caesarium Cadmide...mmm tasty. So you need 2 input(provider) silos and 1 output(receiver) silo. So input, "provides" to the complex reactor array, and output is what the reactor shoots out... it "outputs" are put in the output silo.
You need to then set their Connected to: to the Complex Reactor Array that is making Caesarium Cadmide. Lastly you have Linked To: which allows you to link Silos together. So like you have two silos that provide Cadmium, which then it consumes away after the first one is empty. (note that there are bugs to silo linking in the POS tracker that I hope to get fixed soon so I recommend you avoid it if possible.) So in the example, if we were to add another Silo to provide more Cadmium, and lets say the new Silo ID is 30. Then when setting up that Silo, you put: 21 in the Linked To as this is the next silo it will pull from. Then if you wanted a 3rd silo, you would put it's linked to, 30 and not 21 because you need to "chain" them together. So we added another silo with ID 31 and this is what is basically looks like:
31->30->21->Reactor
Hopefully this helps out and makes sense.

In fact you can get information about silos and what's in it via the api - by fetching the corporation's asset list. What you cannot do is assigning the silos to the reactions. That would be up to the user, but once that is done you can could update the contents of the silo via the API. And THAT would be real cool! |

Hey FG,
Love the tracker!! Just one issue: Cron Job of -> poscron.sh
I have this error when the Cron run's: Fatal error: Call to undefined function ADONewConnection() in /xxx/xxxx/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 71
Is there any way to fix this so the POS info can be automagically updated? the other Cron job's run without error's just this one which seems strange

Although that's true, the assets api is cached for 1 entire day, so if you go and mess with a starbase right after it happens to update, it will be wrong for the rest of the day.

You're welcome :)
You sure the others are actually working correctly? I've seen this error before and I can't look into it until I get home. However, I think it was due to the fact that the cron job was trying to run in PHP4 and not PHP5 because it couldn't handle ADOdb related items, thus the error.

Well that's what's so strange I have PHP 5 enabled on the server as EDK 3.1.8 requires that also. I have just looked at the postrackercron.sh too see if I have done something different but it is all correct, so I still find it a bit of a mystery as to why the poscron.sh doesn't work.
The only thing that is different between:
cron_updatesov.php & cron_updatealliance.php vs. cron_updatepos.php
Is the final line:
$results=$posmgmt->API_UPDATEAllPOSES();
Should that not be: $posmgmt->API_UPDATEAllPOSES(); ?

Yes that is correct so no issue there. I would make sure the .sh files are correct. I just duplicated it, if I switch the cronjob to use PHP4 I get the error you are seeing. 100% Exact. When turning PHP5 back on, it works wonderful. So most likely it's running PHP4 for the cron job.

When i type the above i get no directory or file found.
Let's look at this from another perspective... If the other cronjobs run fine without errors then its not PHP5 related as they would be producing the same error's correct?
Well they are not, it is only 1 cronjob = poscron.sh
that is not working. So there must either a) be something wrong with poscron.sh or b) be something wrong with cron_updatepos.php
I have PHP 5 as detailed: PHP Info
So to re-iterate: All POS Tracker cron jobs (except poscron.sh / cron_updatepos.php) work

You can have different versions of php for cli and the webserver. Those types of errors are normally caused by something different on your system.
This is what I get, the version installed with apache is 5.3. You can try php -v or take a look to see if you can find your php install, sometimes /usr/bin/local/php as well.

This is what Dreamhost needs for your scripts(edit your .sh files to basically match what's below for PHP5):
PHP5 Cron Job Example: /usr/local/php5/bin/php /home/youruser/yourdomain.com/path-to-php5-script.php PHP4 Cron Job Example: /usr/local/bin/php /home/youruser/yourdomain.com/path-to-php4-script.php

Well neither of them work now, so I am going to use the ones I had set-up, and just have to manually update the pos every information everyday.
See below for changed .sh files errors:
poscron.sh:
/home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/poscron.sh: line 4: cd: /usr/local/php5/bin/php: Not a directory
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ADONewConnection() in /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 71
postrackercron.sh:

At least before hand the postrackercron.sh worked lol now I am gonna have to remember what I used to make it work and wait a further 24 hours to make sure this is so damn LOL why can't these things be simple

Contact Dreamhost, ask them what its set at on your server for running a cron job in PHP5. Also, the POS updates can happen every hour and if you go earlier it will just pull cache data so you can still test your setup if you set it to every 5 minutes.

I'll keep playing with it like, but just so I know on the mail that is sent on a successful update what message is printed on the mail Is it something like:
POS xxxx / Location / Updated?
As with the alliance information etc if it was successful i just didn't get a mail at all, would it be difficult to add to the cron_xx.php files a call to send a successful message including what was updated
This is what I receive with successful updates:
poscron.sh: X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
postrackercron.sh X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
---------------------------------
That right there is it. Nothing more, nothing less. You will noticed the alliance one will have two entries because two files were executed in the .sh. Shall we add helpful added/updated messages? Maybe in the future but a lot of data is pulled from various locations to accomplish that so it's not really worth it to try and have the tracker handle that(bigger fish to fry atm anyhoo). I can probably add something that provides more information but at the moment all it's doing is pulling the API and updating the DB. It isn't setup to announce anything else.

Hi All,
The development of the tracker has kinda hit a snag. I no longer have POS tower information to work off of or corporation jobs so it's hard to look at API data without that. Plans to have a new POS tower up kinda changed and I unfortunately don't have the ISK to run one myself, let alone even buy one. Wish donations could cover that but well barely any donations so :(. While this is a long shot I really don't wish to halt development if possible. If someone doesn't mind sharing some API corp data which will only be seen by me please PM me. If you want even I'll give you the link so you can see my destruction(I mean fixing) of the tracker in action. You can even use it for your corp if you like.
Please let me know in EVEMail!
Thank you, -FG

Hey,
I'm having a few problems installing this. Basically the installer executes the install_database.sql, but it seems to freeze there. Just shows the animated icon but isnt updating the mysql database. I'm assuming it's also meant to populate the created database tables with 100 or so .sql files in the same folder as the install_database.sql? I've tried raising the timeout options, and raised the php upload file limit (if thats even needed) but with no luck. I can create an account, and login - but I get a printed out mysql query at the top of the user cp basically looking for records that don't exist.
Any ideas? :)

The #1 reason for the failed install like this is you don't meet installer requirements: # PHP Version: 5.1.2+ # CURL Version: 7.21.0+ # Required Modules Needed: CURL, SimpleXML, Hash # Register_globals needs to be off. If you see "Register_globals: On or Register_globals: >blank<" you have register globals on.
or you don't have javascript enabled on your browser. The only thing installed by default is install_database.sql. The other 100 files are in later steps to select what region you are putting your POS in.

FG version uses session only so the second you close the browser, the session ends and so you are force to log back in. There is no setting to change this currently. There maybe an option for cookies in the future but currently there is not.

Would it be possible to have silos to tie into the tower if you know the that say... B8EN 1 - Moon 1 Silo = Container ID 509264911? API tells us that there is a silo in b8en and quantities of whats inside of it and even gives the container ID, so in theory one would just need to tie all of the silos to a particular tower

Technically yes but this request has come and gone for one small reason as Johnathan Roark pointed out: "Although that's true, the assets api is cached for 1 entire day, so if you go and mess with a starbase right after it happens to update, it will be wrong for the rest of the day."
This is a big issue because a lot of corps have multiple fuel techs and so if one person makes a change after the pull, bam the others won't know about it. Plus a lot of people do their pulls via cron jobs so to have it rely on that, anyone who makes a change 1 hour after-wards will have screwed over what's really going on in the silos.

Sorry for the slow releases of fixes but I'm still working on it.
Now I know Production fixes were on request a lot and since I had some time today, I got to dive into this.
The good news: 2 Production Bugs are fixed. Yay! This should help resolve the "silo linking" issue.
The bad news: 2 Production Bugs remain(that I know of) but I know what's causing the one of them so I'm hoping to have that solved shortly.
The request: I'm looking for 2-3 people who are on 5.1.1 Beta 1 willing to test out the new production fixes here shortly. Please just Evemail me and I'll have a link for you to try out within the next few days.

Since the old forums are back and I was in mid-reply when the new forums died the 3rd time here's a response to subdomains. I'll post again on the new forums if they do come back.
For 5.1.1 Beta 1 Users Only. Your subdomain fix:
http://www.iceneko.com/eve/subdomain_fix.zip
The one security patch I put in for 5.1.1 Beta 1 kinda broke subdomain installs if the POS install wasn't put into a folder under the subdomain. This patch will be included in the next version of FGV.

Hi,
I'm running into a strage problem. Installed 5-1-1-Beta-1 and configured it ...no problem here. Then I get to the login page and try the admin user with the pw ---> not able to log in.
I don't get an error message or anything, the page just reloads and that's it.
DB connection is working ok since i can add users and they do show up in the DB.
I also have the same version running on the same server (another vhost and DB) and this one runs perfect.
any ideas?

I seem to be having a problem. I'm not sure if its a browser issue or a bug. Using firefox, I can't seem to go to page 2+ of the towers list. I have to set it to 100 towers to see all our corp towers.

Fixy Here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/trackbug_fix.zip (For 5.1.1 Beta 1 or 5.1.1 Beta 2 Users Only)
It looks like when removing what looked to be a pointless function, it had a small feature of counting that I didn't fully become aware of until now. According to SVN I made the change when going to 5.1.1 Beta 1 from 5.0.4. So those 5.0.4 installs should be fine.

Edited by: Bloodhands on 30/04/2011 01:32:34 Thank you for the quick fix on that. Did something change for directors/admins? All those who had 'Director' or 'Admin' seem to of lost the ability to do API updates in beta 2, approve/delete users or modify accounts of anyone else.
I am also getting this when i try to change theme.

edit: hmm, seems if you give someone who was a director or admin roles on the new Registered Users page, they loose director or admin. There doesn't seem to be a way to give them admin back so they can approve members and/or run the POS update from API that I can see either.
1. NP
2. You're getting the theme message because you missed a DB update. ****If upgrading from v5.0.1 to v5.0.2 select: "v5.0.2 - Theme Install" from the list and select Next.**** Now just a bit of notice that if you're missing the theme update there's a good chance you are missing some others. :(
3. In 5.1.1 Beta 1 the roles all changed. You are no longer able to give the admin role to anyone. This is changing in the future but for now the only way to give someone else admin is to edit their permissions within the DB to just the number "5". This is mainly to support alliances who wish to use the POS tracker. You wouldn't want the director of a corp able to see the crap in another corp without specific permissions to do so. There will be most likely the ability to give people "subadmin" rights in the near future. Probably when going to 5.1.2 which I'm working on right now. API should really be run from cronjobs if possible. We used to do API updates all the time from the admin page but once you setup cronjobs, you never really have to because the data is already updated.

Version 5.1.2 Released! Yay!
Version 5.1.1 Beta 2 to 5.1.2 Changes:
* Fuel Bill now has Prices! Prices can be changed via the Admin Panel. DB Upgrade Required. * SubAdmin permissions can now be given by the Admin account. * Past Jobs Installer IDs got a small fix so they wouldn't all appear as ----. * X-Large Ship Assembly Array is now selectable under modules. After doing the DB upgrade any Large Ship Assembly Arrays will become X-Large due to ID conflict from original POS Tracker code. * Fixed bug not allowing you to see past page 1 on the POS Track page.
-----------
This update does require a DB upgrade. You will most likely see an error message when you go to the admin page for the first time just before doing the DB Upgrade. This isn't too much of a major update other than I haven't seen many issues with the Beta version so we're out of the Beta stage now.
Remember to put in your requests and tell me of any issues you have. EVEMail or Google Code Issue's List is best :)

CURL: No (Will use fopen) <---bam right there is your problem. There can't be an "alternative" to the use of CURL in this case, well more like not anymore. So since no data can be grabbed you're getting the nice error.
Sorry but the newer versions require that CURL be used. :( The install page never got updated it seems once that stuff was removed.

Not exactly sure what the problem you're getting is coming from however ummm please get a more recent version of the POS Tracker. 3.0.0 original is beyond long gone. Last update to it was well over a year ago and the project is no longer maintained. If you get the same issue with the 5.0.2 or 5.1.2 version of FGV please let me know. Did you have Sov before you put up the POSes into the tracker? There's a small issue where the POSes don't think they are in Sov after alliance changes. Issue reported here: http://code.google.com/p/pos-tracker-eve/issues/detail?id=4

Are you sure? I must be missing something or you're installation isn't working correctly. Just tested this out and it works wonders here so something isn't right.
Try this out:
Remove the tower and pull back in via API. See what happens, if Sov doesn't work I will need more details via here/PM.
Corp, Alliance, & character name of who's pulling in the API data. System location of where the tower is at. Also what version of the tracker are you running? MD5 checksum of the file class.pos.php located under POS Install\includes.

5.1.3 Released! Part of the "redesign" project, some of these changes aren't amazing and some of it is just items moving around. However this is needed to slowly move onto a far better POS Tracker. The tower fueled system will be in more detailed later so don't think what you see will be it forever lol.
Version 5.1.2 to 5.1.3 Changes:
* Fuel Calc now lists the isotope type. * Fuel Calc now has a direct link to the POS you are refueling. * View/Edit POS now displays when it was last fueled and by who. * POS Track can now sort by corporation. * POS Track's dotlan links consolidated into 1 new map icon in the actions area. * POS Track's headers now do the sorting instead of the sort towers button which is now gone.
Anyhow, enjoy the update and keep those surveys coming! Got a lot of new ideas so far and it looks like you guys want the new silo system. Let me know if you have any problems with this version or have any comments :)

can you help me ?
I don't think there is much I can do for this one unfortunately. If incorrect information is sent to CCP I don't know what way I could work around that.
Things you could try:
1. Redo your API keys and try again 10 minutes later to see if it works.
2. Contact your host and ask them about the php.ini. Some hosts allow you to modify certain aspects of the php.ini from your own area. Talk about this item specifically,
[php.ini] ; The separator used in PHP generated URLs to separate arguments. ; Default is "&". arg_separator.output = "&"
3. Find a different host. There are also some people who host trackers like myself. But of course then you have to trust someone with your information.
Best of luck, -FG

I'm having trouble with harvesters and silo's.
The first POS I added had the harvester show up in the edit menu. I linked the silo to it yet it never updates with amount of goo mined (not sure if this was a feature or not).
The two other POS are the exact same POS setups as the first but the harvester won't show up and can't be linked.
Am I doing something wrong?
Cheers for the work on this software, it really makes life easier.

Hi Lemming,
If you have a MHA attached to a silo(output) it will start showing an increased amount after an hour. This is just a sort of time checker for the last time you updated production and "emptied" out the silos. So you may not be doing anything wrong kinda but just to clarify what the tracker can currently do. Until recently, API pulls for silo data really wasn't quick enough as it would happen every 23 hours so it was never put into place. The current POS Tracker as it is can't fill in any real data for you. You have to kinda guide it.
http://i.min.us/idmEee.png here though be a link of one setup done for a MHA to Silo. If you still have problems let me know. :)

What version are you installing by chance? I'm guessing 5.1.2. I would try 5.0.4 and see what happens and the main reason I say that is because in 5.1.2 there is was a massive addition to the database tables so something on your webhost could be timing out.
Also though, if it writes the config you can do a manual import of the DB if you have something like phpMyAdmin. But not sure if you have access to that or not or if you know how to use it.
Let me know what happens.
Best of luck, -FG

What version are you installing by chance? I'm guessing 5.1.2. I would try 5.0.4 and see what happens and the main reason I say that is because in 5.1.2 there is was a massive addition to the database tables so something on your webhost could be timing out.
Also though, if it writes the config you can do a manual import of the DB if you have something like phpMyAdmin. But not sure if you have access to that or not or if you know how to use it.
Let me know what happens.
Best of luck, -FG
(Wrong toon, but ya know. Orthaen) I am doing 5.1.2! And I do have access to phpMyAdmin, and...well, some experience. I'll see if I cant manage a manual import, see how it goes.

I remember, I had this problem when I installed one of Roarks versions ages ago too. Its because my host has a crappy max_questions limit. I remain optimistic though. Once I manually import all the databases, will things work, or is there something I'd have to do that the installation script does after the database import?
Find the install_database.sql file under the install folder and edit with something like Notepad++(don't use normal notepad). Then do a find and replace with the prefix that you used. If default you would use "pos3_" and replace any "%prefix%"(without the "") within the file. Then do the manual DB import with phpMyAdmin. If the import works, also import the file here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/pos3_user.zip
Go to the login page and login with admin/admin.

I just downloaded and attempted to install: POSTrackerFGVFullInstaller_5_1_2
The problem I am having is when I navigate to the installation directory it says there is no index.html file. Upon further investigation, the file does exist but it is a 0KB file, which also shows as zero KB in the zip file I downloaded.
Can I get a link to a new /install/index.html file please?

The file you are looking for is index.php, your server needs to be set up so that it opens index.php by default, not index.html |

My server is set up to open PHP files by default. I have it set to look for a number of files in a specified order.
Even if this was not the case, there is not an index.php file listed in the installation directory, and the index.html file that does exist is still zero KB (empty).

Its suppose to be empty, according to the installation directions, the installer is located at http://example.com/pos/install.php
Quote: Create a folder on your web-host, ie pos/ . FTP/copy the extracted package to your host. Create a MySQL database and user for pos-tracker. Set proper permissions to the directory structure. cache/ needs read and write access for the web server (chmod -R ug+rw cache/). eveconfig/dbconfig.php needs read and write access for the web server during install. browse to install.php in your web browser, ie http://example.com/pos/install.php. Follow the installer directions. Remove write access for the web server to eveconfig/dbconfig.php (chmod g-w eveconfig/dbconfig.php). Login to your new installation. Done! - No need to do DB Updates

Edited by: Morist Intheli on 03/07/2011 01:07:37 Ok, re-inspired to make this work. When I attempt to use the POS tracker (installed and everything) I get this error
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "login.tpl" in .../pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
I believe this is a problem with the template_dir variable in Smarty.class.php, but I couldnt figure out how to fix it. I did track down the .tpl files to .../pos/themes/posmanager and fiddled with that. No luck. Hopefully you know whats broken, somewhere. And yeah, I do realize this isnt a POS tracker bug or anything like that.
So far I've tried fiddling with file rights and fiddling with the template_dir variable. No luck.
Oh, another error in the log PHP Warning: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_e4d5b7991e99ef45dd90cf8197d73c30, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in .../pos/includes/eveclass.php on line 252

Normally, it a permission error, the web server doesn't have read rights to a directory it needs.
chmod -R ug+rw cache/ chmod -R ug+r themes/ chgrp -R www-data cache/ chgrp -R www-data themes/
I am assuming your web server is linux and the group is www-data here. If you had someone else setup your web server, such as a host, you may want to consult with them on how to give the correct permissions.

Hi,
I had this running on 5.1.1 Beta 1 and when I attempted to update to 5.1.2 I missed the Beta 1 to Beta 2 step and stuffed the install up.
I thought I would just start from scratch, Renamed the /pos dir to a backup, create a new database, upload the full 5.1.2 files and go from there.
However, I cannot even execute the install.php file. I just get a 500 error and the error.log shows the following.
EDIT: Nevermind, I created the templates_c directory and its all good. I remember now that i had to do this with the first install. Why doesn't the install package create this directory?
[03-Jul-2011 21:53:46] PHP Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir '/home/xxxxx/public_html/pos/cache/templates_c' does not exist, or is not a directory. in /home/xxxxx/public_html/pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
I set and checked the permissions on the cache and template directories. Any ideas?
Thanks
Harry

What are the requirements to update from 5.1.2 to 5.1.3, when I try i get crazy hieroglyphics in the top of the page and nothing works. When I navigate to Upgrade.php there isn't an option to upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.1.3.
I have to roll back to 5.1.2.

Any other ideas? I knew file permissions were right, and after some investigation I think group settings are right. Tech support wasnt exactly forthcoming, but it appears they...are. I dunno, they wouldnt tell me what group the web server uses and it's a shared hosting dealy, so no SSH connections for me. Folders are in no group right now (which is group nobody, maybe?) Waiting for an escalation but the initial response was "it's an issue with the php scripting" (though pos tracker worked fine with them a few years ago).

The upgrade.php is only for database updates. Not every update has a DB update. If you look at the patch notes it will tell you if there was a DB update/upgrade or not required. It maybe a ye bit confusing but the upgrade instructions point out the specific updates also. It's the first set of information you hit when going to the website. The installer and updater will probably be changed in the future but that's so low on the needs to be updated list that it probably won't happen within 2011.
5.1.3 -> 5.1.4 Will have a DB update.

I read both your posts. The problem with your setup is it doesn't function correctly with the following line in config.php
$eve_filepath = realpath('cache');
If I were to disable said line my installation has the exact same issues you are having.
Your host must have an interesting setup that is causing realpath to not function like we want it to. It would be interesting to see what the realpath really is but even if I had that information I wouldn't know what I could change to make sure it works 100%. It would probably be easier to have your host change what it's doing if we knew what it was. If they are actually doing something.
But here make a testing.php file with the following inside.
<?php echo realpath('cache'); ?>
Put the testing.php in the /pos folder and go to it.
My realpath is: /home/username/public_html/corp/pos/cache
Mr. Roark may have an idea on a working alternatives because after 30 minutes diving into this I can't seem to make any alternatives work. I can only seem to cause more problems.

/hermes/web09/b1345/moo.valistar/public_html/pos/cache is the real path. /public_html is my root folder.
I did try variations of this when I was trying to set variables using absolute paths.
This is the problem with sessions being borked too?
Thanks for taking so much time to figure this out.
As far as my webhost goes, when they said they were escalating it they really meant "We're done talking to you now." They sent me an email saying my ticket was closed as soon I left chat saying it was the php scripts fault. I love how useful IT staff are.
When I have time I might look at register.php again and see if I cant hack together a fix for that, but I really have no clue on the not staying logged in issue with the phpsession being created and maintained.

Just had a quick look at this today. It looks pretty nice but didn't like how it wasn't using CCP's image server for the structure images so quickly change that. Figured id share the very small change here.
Changed viewpod.tpl and editpos.tpl: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5273861/editpos.zip
Interested in seeing how this project goes on in the future. Only other problem I have come across so far is that the Import structures button does not seem to do anything.

Just going to voice a thought about that. This is not a good idea especially for so many reasons like if CCP makes changes to their website everything breaks, you're using CCP's resources for a static webpage image...over and over and over again, if CCP is in maintenance mode all the images break, and lastly you just don't do this for this sort of thing. If we were like a major service(think OOE) and pulling in character images it would be one thing but not for static images that we can easily toss up to the server. In fact if you look at sites like eve-kill, the character images are locally stored for them too.
As for the import structures button I'm not surprised it doesn't really work. That along with the entire structure system within the POS Tracker needs a lot of work. Something which I'm slowly working on but I'm only 1 Frozen Guardian so it'll be working sometime in the future. I hopes.

Yup you make very good points. My main reason behind it is to save a bit of bandwidth and hdd space.
Also on the fuel bill page when you set the region fliter it doesn't calculate liquid ozone or heavy water usage.

5.1.4 Release!
Note that this does need a DB update! This update does modify the users table a bit so just to be sure I suggest doing a DB backup before doing this update if you have a lot of data. If you do not do the DB update expect a lot of errors on various pages.
I want to thank everyone who did the survey as it helped a lot in seeing things that needed updates that I really hadn't noticed. Several of these updates were put into this version and lots more to come in the next versions.
To a specific survey response: Would like to point out that the "charters bug" does not exist anymore since a few updates ago. On multiple tests API and Manual towers worked perfectly fine in showing charters needed and the only time it hasn't was an incorrectly updated installation that someone directly contacted me about. So if you're still having this issue, I suggest a brand new install. If for some reason charters still do not show up after a new install I would love to hear about it so EVEMail me.
Patch Notes:
Version 5.1.3 to 5.1.4 Changes:
* POS Track's sorting has now be updated to work correctly and can now be sorted ascend or descend. * POS Track's ugly buttons have been removed and replaced by only lovable links on the bottom of the page. * POS Track's stront timers now work 100% of the time. * Users can now set POS Track default settings via their own User Panel. * Only Admin/SubAdmins will now see Alliance/Sovereignty API messages on POS Track page to reduce clutter. * POS Track now shows Last Fueled by and is sortable. * Last Fueled will now reset back to API when API updates API towers. Manually added towers are left untouched. * Industrial Jobs Current and Past load significantly faster. * New global settings options shown under the admin panel. o Hidden Jobs - Can hide certain industrial jobs from everyone besides admins - Selections: Titans and SuperCarriers | All Capitals | All Ships. Anything that deals with these whether it be Manu, ME, or PE Research will be hidden. o Version Checker - Can set so that it auto-checks for new versions and notifies you when you go to the admin panel. o Main Market Hub - Sets what region EVE-Marketdata should pull in prices from. See related below. * The global price list can now be updated via EVE-Marketdata's API under the admin panel. The imported data will come from Jita (The Forge) by default. EVE-Marketdata's prices are only updated every 24 hours after downtime. * Navigation fixed to show Jobs link for all Jobs access levels.
-------- Edit: Forgot patch note that the new Sansha Mothership has been added to the DB.

5.1.5 Released. Silo Link bug looks to be gone for good in this one.
Due to what has changed in this version I'm not going to make a new full installer for this version. If everything goes smoothly by the time 5.1.6 comes out I'll include it then. No DB required so just drag and drop :)
I didn't really think to dive into this just after 5.1.4 was released but I didn't want to put off the silo bug any longer. Plus the whole fuel calc optimal thing has been bugging me.
Version 5.1.4 to 5.1.5 Changes:
* Silo/Production system rewritten. Silo Link bug should be squashed. * Security on Add Structures loosened up just a bit. * Import Structures button works again. * Modifying structures on a tower is now actually logged in the DB. * Adding/Updating/Removing Structures on a tower now actually updates the DB so the tower's CPU/PG are updated. This also fixes the Fuel Calculator not being able to show optimal LO/HW if you had structures attached instead of manual CPU/PG entry. Any tower before this patch will need an "Update Module Info" before it writes to the DB.

BTW, here is a patch that we're using with this product. It just does a quick 'max fuel this pos' thing at the bottom of View POS, because 90% of the time, that is what you're doing. It's to make it easy to cut/paste this information to a notepad for easy JF and rorqual fueling. This product is hard to use with a hauler anyway.
under fgv/themes/posmanager, edit the file viewpos.tpl, and around line 197, after 'Total Difference:' Add the following line: <!--[include file='goonviewpos.tpl']-->
And then make a new file goonviewpos.tpl:
<hr> <table class="txtleft" style="width:600px;font-size: 14px;"> <!--[assign var='uptimecalc' value=$tower.uptimecalc]--> <tbody> <tr> <th>Max fuel on </th> <th><!--[$arrposize[$tower.pos_size]]--> <!--[$arrporace[$tower.pos_race]]--> <!--[$tower.moonName]--> <!--[$tower.towerName]--></th> </tr> <tr> <td>Enriched Uranium</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.uranium]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Oxygen</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.oxygen]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Mechanical Parts</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.mechanical_parts]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Coolant</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.coolant]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Robotics</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.robotics]--></td> </tr> <!--[if $tower.charters_needed]--> <tr> <td>Charters</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.charters]--></td> </tr> <!--[/if]--> <tr> <td>Isotopes (<!--[$tower.race_isotope]-->)</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.isotopes]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Liquid Ozone</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.ozone]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Heavy Water</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.heavy_water]--></td> </tr> <tr> <th>Cargo needed:</td> <th class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.totalDiff]-->m^3</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <hr>
I'm sure this would be easy to add if anyone else is interested in it. And don't say Goons never gave you anything.

I'm a bit confused of why you would use this? Max fuel this POS is what Optimal does. Maybe I'm missing something here because not sure why you would want the same information shown twice.

Eh, you don't generally want them have to go to multiple screens. I'm actually okay with redundant information on a page, in this case two different formats. One, very complicated with usage, current, optimal, etc. They *need* to see that, just in case someone didn't do the data entry on the pos. (Usually?)
The second situation is the 'max fuel' option, which means 'I want to fuel x pos', and then they have a text block to look at and not swap a number or miss a fuel item.
It'd also be nice to have towers default to a normal HW/LO3 usage that maybe is setup by the admin. Usually our pos's have usual amounts of grid/cpu used, and empty POS's are very rare. So rather have them show up with some HW/LO3, rather than zero. But don't know an easy way to do that. Different issue, really.
BTW, biggest complain is fueling is the inability to figure out how much fuel to put in on a partial fueling. Like if you have a 20k hauler, or 50k left in your rorqual.
BTW, you do have a great app. -- Kismeteer, carebear extraordinaire

Frozen,
Love the product. Thank you.
I have a few questions about silos/linking.
1. Lets say I have a complex reactor and 4 silos. 2 silos are sending materials into the complex reactor, the other 2 silos are what the complex reactor is making. The complex reactor only makes one item but I connect 2 silos together so I dont have to check it as often. How would I setup this up via the silo arrays?
2. What do the "linked to" fields mean and how do I use them?
3. When I have a silo connected to a MHA, is it considered INPUT or OUTPUT. 4. What about a silo that is connected to a reactor array that is providing materials for the Reactor Array?
5. Is there a way to remote a fuel tech from a tower so the tower has no one as the fuel tech?
6. Is there an option to adjust how many emails it sends you when a tower is low on fuel?
7. When I am editing a pos, what does the outpost option mean/do?
8. Under jobs, why do I have some jobs that were done months ago but still show up?
9. Why do my jobs not tell me who the installer is?

Johnathan Roark is right on this one. However since it looks like PHP is loaded fine, what you will need to do is find out where your php5 is installed(exactly) and put that location in the script. Unfortunately you will need to try a few times to find the right location. Been supporting several different hosts and my god are they everywhere but once you find it it will work perfectly. If you use a common host they usually have it hidden somewhere in their KB or the support team can find it out for you.

That's not what I meant. You need to see where your php is loaded not the php.ini.
You need to change the first part with something like these examples:
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/php5/bin/php /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/php5

When I have time I might look at register.php again and see if I cant hack together a fix for that, but I really have no clue on the not staying logged in issue with the phpsession being created and maintained.

Yes, you will need to keep trying until you find one that works. Remember you can have your cron run every minute and keep switching until you find the one that works for you.
Sorry I can't provide more help than this unless you provide who your hosting is from. And even then its really just a test of where your php5 location is.

I wish. Unfortunately the structures in the system do not appear right under the POS they are related to. So you can't actually tell which links to which. This was found out by doing an API pull with two towers, one with 6 silos and one with 4. All online.
What showed directly under Tower 1 was 2 Silos and then there was 8 silos under Tower 2. Also, all but 3 guns from both POSes showed up under Tower 2.
So it's pretty much impossible to know exactly what is where with the Corp Assets API. I'm looking into rigging something up that may work but it would be easier if everything was in order based on where its in space/by tower, not by its itemID.

In this case the LocationID is a SolarSystemID so it's not specific enough.
Someone also looked into this on the API site of love: http://wiki.eve-id.net/APIv2_Corp_AssetList_XML
Quote: When the locationID < 60000000 then the asset is somewhere in space - I have only seen solarSystem numbers.

Hi All,
On a random side note. The main site has been updated here http://www.iceneko.com/eve/
I doubled checked all the download links but if I still missed something or you have a problem with the new site please let me know. If you do not see the new site please make sure to clear out your cache because it does look quite a bit different. I'll be doing a few more changes to it in the upcoming week or so.

When i test the mailcron i get the following error. "Parse Error syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' om /home/sites/corpsite/blah/blah/includes/adodb.inc.php on line 430
On the cron, are your other crons working fine? I'm not sure if that was ever fixed after pos-tracker went 3.0.
On the warmhole location data, there should be a bunch of unknown regions, try installing all of those.

Should still work fine. This would be the first time I've seen such an error as this. Odd place for it to die too. I notice some code I thought I fixed/changed which maybe causing the issue. Extract the .zip and replace the cron_mail.php with the one inside.
Please let me know what happens.

This will just be a temporary workaround if it does work. I have to update this along with the mailer in general so I just may push this up front on the to do list.

So. PLEX is up on contract to you in Jita, for both your work here and that one other thing we talked about that nobody needs to know about just yet. *wink*
Thanks and I hope others who find this application useful in their daily EVE careers find ways, big or small, to donate and show their appreciation to one of the few EVE-O applications that is routinely improved and updated, from a developer who is still around and active enough to troubleshoot problems for people.

Frozen,
Thanks for all your work on this application. I'm just starting, but it looks like it could be a great help.
I am having a little difficulty with silo linking in v5.1.4. My production setup is like this:
(simple reactor)--200-->(silo)--100-->(complex reactor)
I've setup my production so that this silo is an output of the simple reactor, and linked to the complex reactor.
In-game, this silo accumulates material at the rate of 100 per hour because the simple reactor creates material faster than the complex reactor consumes it.
In FGV, whenever I enter a quantity of material for this silo, FGV immediately resets it to zero when I click update.
Thanks! V

Viral, Update to 5.1.5 as a lot of the production code was redone in that version. In the previous versions the production code would set silos to 0 in all sorts of problems because it didn't understand. So you will probably be able to set a number, however thinking of it at the same time ummm. The tracker only sees a silo going one way, input or output. I don't think there has ever been any code for it to be both. Everything is based on time(literally) currently in the production code area so with the variable of one going faster than the other tosses a huge wrench into the mix.
So in the end I don't believe there is a way you could set that up in the tracker currently. Unless someone has a workaround idea I can't think of I'd say you'd have to look for other options. The closest would be just not having input silos for the complex reactor.

I can't seem to upgrade. I had the same issues before but didn't make a back up and just re-installed the latest full version installer.
This time i made a backup (on v 5.1.2) with the intention of moving to 5.1.5 but as soon as start the process by copying the 5.1.3 upgrade things seem to break.
Is that minor upgrade just suppose to "work" transparently with no interaction apart from just overwriting the files?

Define break?
Yes 5.1.3 is just a copy and replace. If you do not see a DB update listed then no DB update needed. 5.1.4 Has a DB update, 5.1.5 does not.

Yeah it breaks the track page. You can get else where in most cases just not the track page. Known issue for a while and there was a crappy reason why I couldn't just fix it. Pretty sure it had to do with the fact that user's information/permissions/tower info goes off the corp name. But instead of the corp name just being for display purposes and having everything go off IDs (like it should have been since creation) it has a lot more uses. Which then if something doesn't match up after sanitation its now even more unhappy.
Maybe I'll look into something for it in 5.1.6 but in the mean time you can just remove the ' out of the players and tower info and everything should be HAPPY. Until something gets updated :P

Yeah there's if you have DB access. Also there are a few locations where it can be changed/updated in the DB and some can be done outside by just removing/adding it back.
Places that may need changing: pos3_user - Change the alliance ID to what alliance you now belong to.
pos3_tower_info - Change the alliance ID here too for each tower. Or you can delete the POS and do another API pull. If you are now in friendly sov space it should take effect.
pos3_eveapi - The API may need to be removed and re-added before it updates.
If you could let me know what you exactly are looking to have updated that could help me out. I'm guessing you mean for the towers though. I've been doing a lot of changes lately for 5.1.6 so maybe I can quickly add something in for the alliance thing too before I push out its release.

What would cause half of the towers to suddenly have no fuel at all and then on the next update the postracker reflecting the normal fuel levels again.
It seems to only have happened since i added another 5 towers. My postracker now has 12 towers in it, is it an issue of timeout waiting for the api to respond?

It seems to only have happened since i added another 5 towers. My postracker now has 12 towers in it, is it an issue of timeout waiting for the api to respond?
I could see a failed API pull(bad data perhaps) or maybe the SQL query failed on your server. Though the query failing can't really be the case because it just does an update so it would have had just old data. Same thing with a timeout, if a timeout happens and you get no data the POSes are just not updated. Which is why there's been a few requests that when it doesn't notice a tower on the API anymore to remove it from the tracker.
But 12 towers isn't a lot as I've seen the tracker handle 5x with no issues. I mean I don't even think there would be a problem with the tracker handling hundreds but I don't have any API keys to do such tests like that.
So really no idea on that one but just remembered something. Earlier today there was some downtime which maybe API was down or broken at the time also perhaps? Though that happened 12 hours ago so not sure what time you actually noticed this. Odd random fun you got there good sir.

Well if you know how to copy and paste it's usually this issue:
Your server has an interesting setup and you need to update your php.ini: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=838892&page=10
Wait a second I just remembered something. You seem familiar. You asked this question on 6/7/11 and stated you couldn't touch your php.ini. Ummm well with no access to that it makes it a lot tougher to troubleshoot. In most cases you can override your php.ini you just don't know it. I can help troubleshoot this if you give me access to your webhost otherwise I would try and get another web host. If you want also I can also talk to your webhost(as I have done so in the past for others) about the issue but I'm going to need details about who you host with and where your installed files are actually located. Let me know via EVEMail if you don't want others to see.

Edited by: Descention on 25/08/2011 17:45:08 I have made a few SQL queries to fix Pos Tracker for Wormhole folk. You may need to modify them to your own database if you changed the table prefix.
Quote:
-- fix region name in pos add list update `pos3_moonsinstalled` set `regionName`=concat(regionName ,' R' , right(`regionID`,2)) WHERE `regionName` = 'Unknown'
-- fix region name in rest update `pos3_mapregions` set `regionName`=concat(regionName ,' R' , right(`regionID`,2)) WHERE `regionName` = 'Unknown'
-- fix constellation name in pos add list update `pos3_mapconstellations` set `contellationName`=concat(contellationName ,' C' , right(`contellationID`,3)) WHERE `contellationName` = 'Unknown'
-- fix dotloan link for pos location update `pos3_evemoons` set moonName=REPLACE(moonName,"Uncharted Planet",`systemName`) WHERE `moonName` like 'Uncharted%'

What exactly do these do? I don't have an active install to test on atm.

Try <php phpinfo() ?> in a php file and see what arg_separator.output is set to. You may have to view source to make sure its not ∓
Depending on what that says, you can try [code]ini_set('arg_separator.output', '&'); in the api scripts. You may also be able to changed them with a .htaccess file.
Your best bet though is to change it in the php.ini or if you can't modify it, yell at your host because they suck. For a small monthly fee, I would be happy to host it for you :)

I keep getting the error
ERROR API Cache timer too short ;
When trying to update my pos from API.
I googled and found that it was a bug that had been fixed in an earlier version. Yet I am still experiancing the issue. Anyone else know how to fix this? I've tried adding different API keys. No luck. |

That problem was more towards jobs causing the API timer to be off. Not so much the POS timer. What version are you on currently and how often are you trying to update it? Are you also sure you replaced old files with new ones?

It fixes unknown space region/constellation/planet names so that they don't all say "Unknown" or "Uncharted". This fix will allow the dotlan links beside the pos list to work for wormhole stations.

Great work on this, it's hugely useful.
Two things:
1) I don't get how the 'Import Structures' is supposed to work. It wants some file, where is this supposed to be gotten from?
2) I'd really, REALLY love a feature that allows me to determine optimal fuel distribution with the fuel I have on hand. For example, if I have four towers, and I have X coolant, Y enriched uranium and Z isotopes, how much should I put in each to get the maximum times overall?

1. Import can only import 2 types of files. One from the POS tracker itself in which you exported earlier or from the program My POS(I'd link to it but the site seems to be down).
2. An interesting request but also a tuffy especially if we think about variables like if they don't have enough isotopes or coolant to do one cycle. Would have to make sure people understand that it can't work wonders unless someone has an idea on how to handle this request better. I mean would you care that you can only gain 3 hours in coolant and robotics but nothing else? I mean the tower wouldn't really gain anything in terms of time. I'll see what I can do with this though. We do have a partial fueling coming up in 5.1.6 that allows you to specify a partial fuelup based on space in cargo hold.
If you or anyone has any input on what they think about the request aka #2 idea please let me know. I'd be open for suggestions on this one on how you would specifically want it to work and where.

A more typical use case for the feature request is this:
1) I use POS Tracker to figure out how much total fuel I need to buy 2) I transport the fuel to my target system 3) I have to go away / get DC'd / have some other reason I can't fuel right then 4) I come back the next day, and then I don't know how much fuel to put in each tower. If I use the 'optimal' value with today's data, I'll short one tower by a whole bunch.

What your more looking for is how to evenly distribute the fuel so each tower will be on for the same amount of days?

Are you by chance trying to use the new API key system? The POS tracker doesn't support the new API version. However if not, I've been hearing issues of people using the API in all sorts of apps since the update with the old keys which is wonderful. If bad data comes back then you usually see that XML message. If possible try with someone else's key just to see what happens and make sure your install matches install requirements.

No, I'm using the old API system. I've tried with another characters API and it's the same issue. Install requirements are met, but I saw that CURL was version 0, and something like fopen was used as alternative. Might that be the cause of the problem? It did install fine though.

Yeah that would be the issue. CURL needs to work.

At this time yes. The installer and the updater both need a bit of an update. Sorry for any inconvenience.
