Has anyone else had screenshots come out looking like this?
Screenshot
I've tried restarting EVE and the computer; is reinstalling the only way to fix this?

Wild guess: Check your resolution-settings, since you seem to be working with EVE in windowed mode. Try the EVE Safe Mode (there's a link in the EVE-folder) or: "eve.exe /safemode"

Lemme guess: Dual-screen setup and the client window you want to screenshot is on screen #2?

Edited by: Piye Shu on 13/07/2010 00:27:15 Display Adapter: Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 1 Windowed or Fullscreen: Window Mode Color Depth: 24-Bit color (XBRBG888) Window Size: 1600x900 Depth/Stencil Format: 32-Bit z-buffer with 8-bit Stencil Present Interval: Interval One
The game runs fine and is completely playable. If I use alt+printscreen and paste into mspaint the screenshot comes out fine, but the exact same screen capture that EVE saves in "c:\documents and settings\username\my documents\eve\capture\screenshots\" is corrupted.
Edit: I have three clients running, the one for screenshots is on adapter 1, the other two are on adapters 2 and 4 which are on a separate video card.

And which one are you actually trying to screenshot? The EVE-client can only screenshot whatever happens on the primary adapter (labeled as #1 - keep in mind though, that it also only screenshots properly on screen #1) and usually spits out an error message if you try to screenshot what is set on the non-primary adapter, dunno if it works the same way for 4 screens/adapters...

How's your TV connected to the PC?

Yea, I'm using adapter one to take screenshots, the other two complain when I attempt to use them. Closing the other two clients doesn't make a difference as to the quality of the screenshots the first adapter is taking.

Is the client with adapter #1 also on screen #1?

Far as I can tell it is. EVE doesn't complain when I take a screenshot and it *used* to work; not entirely sure when it stopped, probably around the time Tyrannis came out.

Old fashioned screenshots work perfectly, can paste into mspaint.exe as well as adobe photoshop. May have to reinstall EVE or video drivers.

Well, I'm sure you know how to find it out, but just to further poke in the dark: Right-click on your desktop->Properties->Preferences->Click on Identify (that's Windows XP though, dunno how it works on Win 7, but your screenshot isn't quite clear on which Windows-version you use ).

Funny enough, I have EVE on Screen #2 which is however set as primary in ati catalyst and my screenshots work. So you might want to also check your driver settings for something similar.

Edited by: Piye Shu on 13/07/2010 01:02:05 I'm running XP Pro and Windows does identify the monitor I have the first client assigned to as 1, so at least they agree on that Next time I'll try and clean up that part of the screenshot

Hm looking at the screenshot, it looks like the client doesnŠt know the correct width (and maybe height too) as you can see the rows displaced. did you try another resolution?

I tried a few resolutions, both larger and smaller, as well as a few different display settings. None seemed to have an affect. Neither did safe mode or only having one client open instead of three.

did you try the logserver? In case screenshot errors get logged (though I doubt it)

You get these issues when either your GPU is dying (frame buffer memory kaput) or your HDD is brukd. ---

I tried switching to low quality and back. There is an error in the logserver every time I take a screenshot.

Did a complete reinstall; screenshots take and show up beautifully now, as they should. *shrug*

from the warnings I would guess your scripts were damaged. If that was the case there probably was more damaged than just screenshot taking. So a reinstall was needed anyway.
