Edited by: Drake Arson on 13/07/2010 17:37:55 Im having quit the weird problems with my computer.
About a month ago, I had bought a Gigawatt Power supply for my computer. After I had plugged it in and got it all set up, I turned her on and made sure everything was working correctly. However, about 10 minutes into EVE, or any game for that matter, I get static sounds coming from the speakers. and while this static is happening, the game locks up.
The more i play the worse these coughs and static sounds get. It finally gets to the point were the whole PC just pauses and stops responding force reboot is required.
Now here's an even more weird part. After force rebooting my computer, the problems do not come back. Its clean, for the rest of the day. Only after turning the computer off, going to bed, and turning it back on upon waking does it do it again. Again, only happens once a day.
A program that I use called Synergy, which is used to connect computers toghether and act with one mouse and keyboard. When using the computers mouse that has problems to control another computer, the Static and coughs spike to near unusable levels. Moving the mouse also increases the static. Honestly i dont know what to do anymore.
So... HALP?!
Note: I have since downgraded to a 750 Watt PSU |

first of all, quickly state that you dont use this program to play eve, since using an application to simulate a keyboard or mouse is against the rules.
now... this could be an issue of blown capacitor/bad power coming in, and if it is unstable, parts of the motherboard can be shut down or not getting enough power to do their work.
Does the 750w work fine?

THis program is not a macro. There is no computer controled movement at all.
And no, The 750 DOes not fix the problem.

I assume you have a built in sound card, so my best guess would be a motherboard issue or heat.
get a program to measure cpu and video card temps and see if they are running in the norm, and if everything is fine, see if you can get a hold of a spare motherboard and attach everything to it, see if you can isolate the hardware that is failing.

Nothing of my pC is even nearing HIgh levels, ive confirmed this.

try a known good and working power supply, if it still happens then you probably ****ed something on your mobo up when you installed the new psu

The problems started with a 1 Gigawatt PSU. A week later I Downgraded to a 750.

oh well then yeah you probably screwed somthing up on your mobo with the gigawatt psu, try a known working mobo if you have one, you just have to keep swapping out parts till you find which one is the problem

What brand name is the 1000 watt PSU. If it's a no-name PSU, it's possible the damn thing shorted out something in your onboard soundcard. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Both PSU were Corsairs. CPU with both eve running is around 63 C and Graphics card is 77 C.
Remmeber, pelase read the bolded part of the OP.

Bolded part means nothing. If you overpower the hardware strange things will happen. What I said is entirely probable; The 1k watt PSU might have damaged something; rebooting might be a temp fix, but soon enough if hardware is damaged it will just stop working completely; get some local computer shop to look it over. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

The problem is you shouldn't be putting banana skins and beer in your Mr. Fusion. It says quite clearly in the user manual that protein shakes and mineral water are the recommended fuel additives. Great Scott man, RTFM before posting on here!
Seriously, Arvald knows his Mr. Fusions, you would be wise to listen.
