Has this mythical event ever happened?
Under what circumstances will the logs show something?
tl;dr; ccp, fix your logs. |

CCP knows not when their logs show something as the logs documenting such events show nothing.

I once lost a faction fitted maelstrom in a l4 , because I couldn Št warp. I filed a petition and the GM confirmed that I was mysteriously stopped from warping and reimbursed me.
ALL other times I lost ships to bugs (quite often), I did not get anything back.

Recently a GM has told me that their logs do not show warp scrambling. Why are my logs better than CCP's logs?
Really it's all a charade so they do not have to reimburse your ship. I don't really mind if CCP does not reimburse ships anymore except in extreme circumstances but ffs stop lying to me so you can pretend like you are trying to help.
And yes I am a little mad, I loved that thrasher :) - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

What can i do on my end when things are obviously bugged? Around the same time, my corp mate logged out in a pos, after a few hours i petitioned that his toon was not going offline, a gm 'ended his sessions', closed the petition...
I petitioned again, the gm told me it 'appears he is offline and all sessions have ended'... If they had bothered to look into it even a little bit, they would see he was very much still sitting in the pos, we could bump him out, shoot him, damage him, rep him, and bump him back in. I was finaly told that 'only the owner of the account can petition to have this resolved'... Well that kinda defeats the point of it all dosnt it?
Point is, there was a verifible bug RIGHT THERE, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GM'S, and nobody bothered to look into it further, when i pushed the issue, i was told to go away, quit bothering us.
Its no wonder the forums are chaulk full of people that do not trust the gm's even try to do their jobs. Every time i get a petition response, i get a response that sounds alot like "I dont feel like looking any further into this situation to resolve the problem"
You know, there has only ever been one thing ccp gm's have ever helped me with? 24 hour reactivation to use a plex.
how does that make me feel as a customer? pretty poor. |

Some say that there indeed have been a very few occurences in the past, when the log, did indeed show something of significant nature. Actions of critical proportions where takes, so they say. Today this is stuff of Urban Legend, no one knows for sure if it is true or if this is just some bonfire tale from pilots in the old days.

Yes. Logs are always showing the age of a tree if you count the circles.

Perhaps they need to use those logs instead of the excel spreadsheet jobby they use in the game NAPS: forcing you to play 'their' game |

"The logs show nothing" is only part of what they say. I laugh every time someone distorts this; 99% of the time the full sentence is "The game logs show nothing that warrant a reimbursement"

More logging = more lag.
Less logs = less lag.
There will always be people whining about both.

The logs never show anything simply because there are no logs.
GM just rolls a D100 and anything but a 100 you dont get your stuffs back

Edited by: Exordium8 on 14/07/2010 15:42:07 I once lost a Drake in a mission when I was but a noob. I was in a level 4 and my shield started to break. I was aligned to a planet so I just clicked warp to.
It wouldn't let me.
I spammed warp, wouldn't warp. I try to align to another planet, but a pair of frigates catch and point me. So now I'm sitting in my pod. Try to warp to that planet. Still can't, so I warp to a station, dock up and petition it. Guess what the logs showed? Nothing. I explained what happened to the GM and reproduced the bug, along with reporting the bug. Never got my ship back --------------------------------- Pillage, then burn. Everything is air-droppable at least once. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload.

This happened to me the other day, only it was in a complex. Petition filed and all that, just waiting for a response... But I have faith in the GM's!
