I've flown a (badly skilled) Gila recently in missions just to get an idea of what AFK missioning in drone boats is like, how often you use heavies/sentries, things like that. I concluded that overall I'd rather train the Ishtar because (a) it can have 2 sentry damage augmentors and (b) with shield or armour tank it can find a good resist to match the rat damage.
A Gila with light missiles does kill webbing frigates quicker than the Ishtar, meaning you can sometimes go AFK a little sooner. But I think this is not as big a deal as the Ishtar's attractions.

Actually, I've AFKd about 30 L4s in a Gila with 2 omnis or 2 navcomps. I kill all the web frigates, orbit a can at the right range (varies with rats), and a 3 slot tank has done the job.
But I must admit that I didn't do AE4 bonus or Blockade vs laser rats, which might be too much for it AFK.

After flying the Gila to try AFK missions, I think my overall conclusion on Gila vs Ishtar is "dual rep Domi". It's got actual tank instead of speed tank, so it won't die to a surprise webber spawn or bumping into something. And it's got the locking range to aggro things, and the turret range/damage to kill sentry towers which would switch to your drones even after you got full aggro. And when a mission just doesn't suit AFKing, there's the rail damage.
But I'd have a completely different answer outside highsec.

350 calabration points wont let you fit two.

Please read my post again.:)
I said I'd rather have an Ishtar because it can have 2 sentry rigs (whilst the Gila can't).
