Next Sunday, July 25 at 19:00 UTC I will be hosting a swap meet in Rens, Dodixie, and Amarr as there is no reason to crowd Jita up more than normal. Everyone is invited to fill up their industrials or freighters and fly out for some good times. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get together, have fun, and make new friends. Our buddies at EVE University and EVE Radio have some fun planned as well. So tune into EVE Radio during the week and come on down to see what EVE University has planned for you.

meh, i have 6 of them, and i think 2 or 3 of them might have belonged to chribba. i remember talking with him about them in irc once, and ended up getting a couple extras that same day, but cant remember if it was chribba that gave them to me or not. i dont have any ammo for them however

Eve Radio will be starting coverage of this swap event at 18:00 gmt this evening with DJ Whitey and Wiggles doing the usual sunday multi billion ISK lottery and will run through until midnight gmt with details on all the goods being traded in each of the hubs.
On the ER homepage there is a handy "Swap Shop" section where people can submit what gear they have up for trade and where interested parties can browse through what's on offer.
Better still, everyone that submits gear for trade or posts a corp recruitment ad has a chance of walking away with PLEX and game time extensions which will be drawn randomly from all the submissions at the end of the event.
Wiggles will be on hand to talk about the good stuff up for trade and will also try and get folks on air with him following the lottery conclusion.
Should be a larf. Will see you all there.

Nothing but our brains and getting there before the event. :) As much as I can't get behind the idea of blowing up traders and miners in High sec. This is an even for the suicide gankers as well.
I'm already in Dodixie. Came in early. Didn't see much activity along the way. But that could change at any time.

Wouldn't this be better done in low-sec? Maybe a system like Tama, Amamake or Rancer? By exclusively choosing high-sec systems, you're preventing space bandits with -ve sec statuses, like me, from joining in on the fun :'(

The idea was to do it in Trade hubs. I know of several pirate corps coming to attend this. Maybe you can pod travel and sit in station and have an alt or corp buddy with good sec status haul your inventory up?

Yeah, events like this seem better suited to other MMOs. Sharing and altruism inherently conflicts with EVE's established atmosphere. I can only hope someone was ganked to balance out the positive energy at one of these meets.

1) Isn't this what the Market is for? I have items I'm no longer using, but someone else could use. So they give me money, and I give them gear.

Excellent times! Thank you to everybody who showed up! I hope some of you made a profit if not some fun trades or just had a good time hanging out with me and CCP Shadow in local. I'd love to do this again in the future or some other in-game event. Maybe next time I'll try to get more CCP to come out than just 2 of us =)

Hmmm, too bad I didn't know about this before today, when I logged in well after the event ended. Is CCP going to be having events like this? I can't remmeber the last time devs have just hung around and chatted. Also, I don't really see the merit to a swap meet, unless people are just giving away stuff.

Over all I had a blast going through the swaps and adverts we received over the course of Sunday, I would like to extend my thanks to CCP Zymurgist and CCP Shadow for coming along and chatting in locals/eve radio/event chans. Also a big thanks to Eve Uni for there class's and all (alas I couldn't attend the classes as was spinning the tunes on the radio).
As Zymurgist will im sure note behind the scenes at Eve Radio is Manic as Jita on a Sunday (or is it just me being mental ) but in the end a good time was had by all.

This was fun, I never tried tracking 3 channels being flooded with ads before.
Also, I made more money salvaging wrecks than trading, but I had only melted snowballs to trade so...
I wish I could get Claw and Zymurgist to show of their ships at the SRV races though...such fast ships...I guess they don't have the skills to take sharp turns with them.

I have the list but I think that should be left up to EVE University and EVE Radio to decide if they want to show that off since it was their competitions!
PS: If you are one of those winners the awards should be handed out soon and not soonÖ
