If I were CCP I would not allow so few morally bankrupt players to **** off so many well ajusted players who form the core of EVE. If after this HulkGank is over and other players start thier own Hulkganks then some ****ed off miners may decide to take a look at other MMOs. I will continue to beta test SWTOR until the HulkGank is over. I still love EVE and after this HulkGank is over I hope the dust will settle down and I can return

You forgot the bit about how Eve doesn't suffer when whiny carebears quit. You also forgot to read the description of Eve when you started. It is not designed to just look like a cold dark harsh place, it IS a cold dark harsh place. Please contract your stuff to me before leaving kthx. |

Yea, you should probably stop being such a lousy beta tester and start testing instead of playing EVE anyway. Just saying. |

Doug, it's exciting that you got a beta invite for TOR. I'm jealous! But Hulkageddon needn't drive you out.
You can hinder gankers just as they do to miners during Hulkageddon, even if you have a brand-new character. Don't run away from Eve-- have fun with it, just maybe in a new way.
Some friends and I lurked on the Hulkageddon 3 public chat channel, seeing what systems the gankers were recruiting gangs for. Then we'd fly there and alert the mining community, posting warning messages in Local throughout every system along the way too. We also publicly announced any ganker names we saw in Local.
The gankers not only left for other systems without attacking anyone, but whined and quoted our alerts in their chat afterward, hehe. Then they got really paranoid about there being "spies everywhere!" and began only calling out general areas ("Jita area gank gang LF more"). We still found them pretty easily.
You'd be surprised how many other anti-gankers joined in on the fun, too. We saw many snipers, repper ships and traps with "bait mining ships" set, besides other players who jumped on the "Local Warnings" bandwagon. You see the kills on the Hulkageddon killboard, but you don't see all the failures, or thwarted/halted attempts.
We also have some now-orphaned alts in place for the next Hulkageddon, in case they password protect their chat (which will actually hinder them even more, trying to get that password out to every ganker wannabe who logs on throughout Hulkageddon). And even if they disband that Orphanage, they'll have to call up recruits for the next Hulkageddon from somewhere! We'll find our way back in. Then we will still spam Local with warnings, plus we'll be able to fly undercover with these ganker groups and turn on them right as they attack miners! We can jam them, shoot them, or even start repping the miner, and besides all that they'll be losing precious dps that they were counting on for those seconds before Concord arrives. Whee!
I do hope they keep their chat public, though, because I find ganker tears as amusing as the gankers find miner tears. And a few more ganker tears were shed than they want you to know about.

If you're looking for 'WoW in Space - Rise of the Jedi Zerg' then you'll probably be pleased.
If you're looking for a good sandbox MMO to compete with Eve, though, I think you'll be disappointed.

That actually makes me want to play it. --------------------------------- Pillage, then burn. Everything is air-droppable at least once. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload.

The very fact that there are still people out there who think there is something wrong with Hulkageddon, shows how vital Hulkageddon is. These players need to be taught about this game they're playing. Who would have thought space was dangerous?

Ganking a mining vessel results in the destruction of at least 1 ship, probably 2, and possibly even more. This creates a demand for minerals. This raises the prices for minerals. This increases the profits from mining.
Why are miners moaning about this? If you want to moan about something, moan about how most of the minerals in EVE actually comes from missions, not mining.

Carebears as a group are probably the *most* maladjusted, psychotic and sociopathic bunch I've ever come across. It's not the pirates that mail me the death threats, the insults, the whining, the "I'm going to kill your family and skull**** your mom." comments.
Hopefully you'll lose another ship and never come back to this game. Eve doesn't need players like you. -

First off, it's Hulkageddon, HulkGank just sounds stupid.
Second, just leave EVE now. If you honestly think this is WRONG, then you really have no idea that this is EXACTLY what makes this game GREAT. While perhaps this is ONLY possible through a broken insurance system which could be fixed by removing insurance payouts for CONCORD kills, that would NOT stop ganking (nor should it). The idea that there is NO TRULY safe location is an integral part of the game that I love.
Also, this prunes the macro miners. CCP should offer bounties and increased rewards for killing AND PODDING them. That would be really cool.

I know there are a lot of ways to enjoy this game but I never would have guessed someone would do that with their time. I saw some similar alerts I just figured they were helpful locals(they were general blurbs and didn't ID anyone).
