What do we benefit from having high security statuses aside from players going "Ohh he's a goodie goodie..SHOOT HIM" <-- crazy pirates.

It helps to fool people into thinking your a good guy for a while when you turn pirate.  |

Not positive but i think higher sec. rate make it easier to smuggle stuff sence concord will ignore you and not scan your ship. Never tried this though so dont quote me on it.

dont know i have max out my ss 5.0 but dont see any benifits.
Ps never been scanned by customs but then again never had any legile stuff on bored either

I think CONCORD and their friends scans everyone, but they will only contact you if have ilegal stuff in your cargo hold. I got a -2.6 standing and they never said to me "Hey Bad girl, hold still while we scan your vessel." |

if you go to a station owned by concord to refine, you have a much lower fee to pay if your standings are high. i know this isnt directly linked but you cant increase one without the other. a lot of people are based in concord stations and NPC hunt just to increase the standings for such services.
other than that, if you have a high sec stations it allows you to be a bad boy from time to time and you wont get banned from empire =)
