This term Carebear has been used by so many and about so many people that by now I have no idea what it means and I'm guessing it will be a hard job to find 2 people here that do agree on what it means. __________ Capacitor research |

The Care Bears are toys that were extremely popular in the 1980s. Over 40 million were sold between 1983 and 1987. The toys are stuffed teddy bears which were made a variety of colours. Each bear had a name such as Bedtime Bear. Each bear's name determines its colour and the logo on its rotund midriff; for example, Bedtime Bear is pastel blue and sports a sleepy-looking anthropromorphised crescent moon. There were also some non-bear toys made in the product line called Care Bear Cousins, such as Brave Heart Lion. In the backstory, the characters lived in the clouds in a place called Care-a-lot, mainted by a portly gentlemen who went by the name The Cloud Keeper.
An animated film, The Care Bears Movie was released in 1985, followed by two sequels, (1986) and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987). A similar animated TV series, The Care Bears, was broadcast from 1985 to 1988.
As of 2004, Care Bears are being marketed once more. The new toys offer features such as lighting up when pressed.

Urban gaming definition
carebear
A player who detests Player versus Player (PvP) gaming and whines about how it ruins their gaming enjoyment.
A player who is killed or has a loss through theft and then complains about player harassment.
A player who focuses their gameplay strictly on crafting or other non-competitve activity.
A player who is afraid of getting ganked by other gaming players.
Players more concerned with "coloring" their houses, clothing, names, etc... than with playing against other people in a competitve gaming environment.
A player who ruined the PvP MMORPG industry by complaining so much that PvP MMORPG development is rare.
or something

I would say crafting a competitive activity as they are trying to make more profit than the corp next door. I like this one the least

Is that an ingame fear or out of game fear. I'm hugely paranoid in game and try to always keep an eye out in local and if someone comes I warp to a safespot and check his info (even do a rough scan to know where he is) but I wouldn't really care if I was killed though. __________ Capacitor research |

well im a empire belt sucker and i also manufacture and do sales but i also think PvP is fun and a laugh, so there for how can all us empire dwellers be carebears. P.s im sure if all areas in 0.0 were not owned by alliances, meaning instant podding just for being there us empire dwellers would go out there 0.0 is fun i used to go up to Tpar a long time ago since i been away from eve for six mounths and it seems to me that its the 0.0 ppl whineing more than the carebears u dont see us complaining because veld is worth nothing compaired to ark ( and a better name let me think "tree hugging lesbeins") is that better there aint nothing wrong with carebears there soft and cuddily

Personally I'm against all these 'names' given to basically peoples different game play styles.
If some people prefer to 'play it safe' and hit the roids making their ISK then fine it's their subscription.
Equally people prefer PvP and 'ganking' then fine. They pay their money they play the game.
Just because ANYONE plays the game in a different style from *you* doesn't make them wrong and *you* right (or vica-versa).

I say we immortalise the most famous of all carebears; WhiteDwarf.
From now on, all isntances of the word 'carebear' should be replaced with 'WhiteDwarf'
All in favour?
