According to some sources there is a trend that uh I mean people have started using 200+km glass cannon fits instead of tanked 170km fits?
Can someone say if this is true or not and why is this happening?

I'm not 0.0 junkie, but it probably has to do with Doomsday reworks.
Back in the day, since a Titan killed everything on grid, you had to be tanked enough to eat a Doomsday. That meant you could only engage out to 150-170km because the armor ships needed to fit plates/EANMs.
Now that the Doomsday is a targeted weapon, you can strip all your tank off your sniper and fit it for Range and Damage. The EHP doesn't matter if 80 battleships are shooting you, so just try to make it hurt people as much as possible from as far away as possible.

If tank doesnt matter, than neither does damage.

If they can't hit you, tank is a waste of slots. Not saying always staying out of reach is easy or anything.

Nope. You still need to be able to tank a few bombs otherwise stealth bomber gangs will eat your non-plated sniper BS alive.

If one side is tanked as normal and has 150km range, then another fleet warps to 220km with no tank but ub0r range, assuming bubble/tackle on the 'stunted'/both fleets, I would say it matters a great deal. If both are fitted for ub0r range then it becomes a case of who can defeat the lag!
Just need to avoid dem bombers. |

Bombs are still an issue. But much LESS omnipresent than titans were. Glass cannons were very weak before dominion. Now they are situational. If you can gather intel on enemy fleet you can select them on a few situatiosn where they will give you the edge. Also if you are attacking into a systems, you are more likely to be bombed on gate in than if you are defending a system.
