I run three accounts, an orca and two hulks and im having trouble with my fleet setup.
I like to tag the asteroids so i dont get confused with which hulks mining which one, and the orca is giving the fleet a boost in mining. But you can only tag asteroids if your a fleet / wing / squad commander. And if i setup my fleet like that, then nobody gets bonus'.
Best i can figure out is to have orca fleet commander giving out the bonus. First hulk as squad commander, tagging. Second hulk as squad member, but unable to tag.
Is there a way i can get my bonus, with only three people in fleet, and still have the two hulks able to tag things?

Wouldnt know about that, but try KISS ... 1st Hulk mines target roids from far to near, 2nd Hulk mines target roids from near to far. Problem solved without ever having to tag again ? ========================== Nothing is true, everything is permitted. ========================== |

You can have the Orca as Squad Member and just set it to fleet booster, if you want.

Don't think "tagging" asteroids (or any objects) is possible with in-game mechanics.

Glad you solved it.
For future reference, your chain of command must be complete to provide or receive bonuses from/with a pilot.
It didn't work when your Orca pilot was Fleet Commander because there was an empty slot of Wing Commander between your FC and your Squad Commander chain.

It is a fleet mechanic. You can mark targets, mark align to, and even mark warp to. It puts a little symbol over the object and if it is displayed in the overview an option can be chosen to make it pop to the top of your overview list.

For future reference, this is broadcasting. You can tag objects with the letters A-G(?) and X/Y/Z, and numbers 0-9. If you are in any commander position, just right-click > Tag > Number/letter > choose which one. Make sure everyone in fleet has the Tag column on their overview visble.
Also, when you warp out, the tags might or might not stay visible, or they might just randomly shuffle around. Another bug as old as EVE (or for the pedants, as long as the tagging feature).
