When I run more than one account on my computer I crash to desktop every 15-30 min. I never experienced this problem before. Anyone know what is causing this? I haven't made any changes to my hardware or software. Only thing i have udated is EVE... Need backup!

I am having the same problem, but just since last Friday after the downtime.
I see several dif posts in the forum and NOTHING that CCP is doing about it......
I am getting to the point that I am getting ready to quit, never thought I would be one of the "whiners", but when I am paying for two accounts and cannot stay online for more than 15 minutes or less, FORGET it.

I can get two accounts into a belt and start mining then when it's time to start hauling - CTD - I know many others with the same problem. Looks like it may be time to move character over to my other account and close the "striped" one down - I save money - no since pay'n for something I cannot use. All was fine before Exodus - not things are getting freaky- one of the accounts lost all folders for BM's after CTD. Other account did not and I have them running from the same Dir. I have tried it from different drives to - another PC arriving in a few days, but to I really want to jump between machines for this ... All setting have been checked and rechecked; now the question is CCP what are you going to do- lose money... ?

I've been unable to run two sessions for about a month now so I've cancelled my hauler account and started training those skills with my main.
Waiting on some action from CCP before I reactivate the other account. There has been no resolution to two tickets I've raised with support and I know the fault is not with my machine so there isn't much of an option unfortunately.

Slightly off-topic for this post, but how do you move characters between accounts? Or are you talking about starting a new char on your main account and training him/her to be a hauler from scratch? Is there a way to move chars between accounts basically (I'm hoping so ).
Anyway, a little more on-topic, and not trying to anger anyone here, does CCP support multi-instances of the game on the same PC? If not they aren't going to care too much about this problem unfortunatelly. If they do, then I guess they'll work on it next patch. (I've just come back here from playing Star Wars: Galaxies - I know SOE didn't support multi-instances for that game and so didn't care much about problems people had with it ... of course most think they don't care about what the player-base wants at all really )

Well, I've tried everything. I've tried clearing my cache, reinstalling the game, turning off sun is occluded by ships/ turrets update/ trails on and off etc., installing the windows XP updates, updating my graphics card drivers, updating my sound drivers, putting my priority of each account to below normal, shutting down all other non-pertinent PC utilities, shutting down firewalls and virus scans, and a multitude of other things I'm sure I've forgot to mention. I'm still getting dumped :-( I'm lead to conclude that this is just a problem that CCP has to resolve, as I had never had this problem before Exodus. Take your time CCP, and fix the more pertinent problems, but I very much atticipate being able to play once more :-(

I got a strange crash instance when running 2 accounts on the same pc. It happens every time I enter certain systems with one of the characters. It's *always* the same systems. If I for example log off with one character and fly through the system with the other, no crashing. But if I log the other character back on and fly back through the system, crash. As I fly further and further out from my homebase, I begin to experience this constant crashing in more systems. And I say constant, because it *only* happens when I enter these specific systems, and it's a certainty *every* time. Simply put: With two accounts running on the same pc, it's not possible for me to enter certain systems.
This crashing *MUST* be fixed! (pretty please )

Edited by: LopTop on 28/12/2004 21:31:56 Before Exodus I could run 4 Eve clients on my one computer. I took a break, came back a couple weeks after Exodus and now if I try to activate 2 characters, or a 2nd character when one is already connected one of them closes completely and the other freezes. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and End Task to close it.
Im glad I cancelled my 2 paying accounts just before Exodus was deployed cause I knew CCPs track record there is always problems after a patch and this was a huge patch. I will not pay for even one account while I am unable to use both, so here I am on a trial. And I wont pay for accounts until they fix this bloody mess(I mean everything, this game is a bloody mess).

just to give a "check" here, but.... alot of CTD's are not always a direct cause of a game problem(especially when others doing the same thing dont have the same problem), but more of a video problem. I have played other games with multi-clients..and had issues with CTD's. The problem was that the video card was overheating(running twice the bandwidth of graphics) and the common result with windows xp was to CTD. Soon as I upgraded fans(cooling)..I never had another CTD. ~Kree
