Recently, I read comments from one forum member who stated his role in his corp is to scan down sites, and his corpmates then go work them. Unless there was a system to compensate the guy with the probe launcher, seems like he would be doing the critical work, and getting no pay.
So I will ask, what are the suggested methods or established standards, if any, for dividing up the loot from exploration sites? For example, how do you divide a single Intact Armor Plate or a BPC ??? What have you folks done in the past to keep things fair ?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer !!!

How about yo talk with your corp mates and come to an arrangement?
There is no magical rule here that works for everyone. People will do it different ways, and look for like minded people.
My corp is small, so we all scan, and we all go into WHs. Whatever we pick (while in a group) up goes to the corp hangar. If we sell it, it goes to the corp wallet, and then we decide what to do with that money. Everyone thinks the same way, so there is no drama, or problems. |

What party said. When I scan I call dibs on everything. Usually I do not fess up of what ive found before I decide to run the sites. Im one of the senior guys in the corp so I usually call the shots.

Equal cuts per person, not toon.
Simple and fair, it not for the scanner, there would be no phat lootz.
I've never had anyone complain about that. ------------------- Always remember this about EVE:

Harsh on the guy forking out real dollars (or huge ISC) to have 2 or more chars running. Considering in eve you can actually run several characters at very near full efficiency.
That said unless your running a huge operation I would expect the scanner guy to do the scan, change ship and come in for the fight, or just have a scanner fitted in a utility high slot and cope with the absence of say a salvager.
If your corp runs several teams with a single scanner finding locations for all of them then he should not get a full share in every locations loot unless all the teams are pooling and then dividing to everybody equally
The other way many people would do it is that all loot goes to the corp. no individual gets anything but the corp will provide you with ships and fittings.
Consider this 3 man team.
A battleship with a scanner piloted by somebody with high scanning skills A battleship with a salvager piloted by somebody with high archeology A battleship with a code breaker piloted by somebody with high hacking.
I think that covers all the special gear you could need (if you get a mining site ether ignore or bring in a fleet of hulks) All loot splits equally by value at the end of the day.
As to the division of a single high value item that outstrips everything else you get. it depends how often you work together
If your only occasionally together. First assume you will sell and come up with a value, then ether sell it and divide the loot, or somebody takes it and pays a fare market price, less his share.
If your part of a long term team just give the item to a team member and you strengthen the team as a whole. If nobody wants it sell and split.

The problem with the scanner changing ship and doing the plex is that this guy puts in 2 parts of time: finding the plex and doing the plex while his mates only put in 1 part of time: doing the plex.
Inm short: in this situation the scanner gets less reward/time invested.
Is that fair? Unless ofcourse the whole team is scanning and all change ships when they found something.
I have a bit of a problem with this in my own corp. We live deep down in nullsec and we rely for a lot of logistics on wormhole routes. We don't have compensation for the scanners. I've invested time and ISK to become a good scanner and quite often find such routes which benefit both the corp and individuals in the corp: they can get stuff in and out of nullsec easy.
But, I can only spend my time once. While I am scanning others are making ISK by doing anomalies or mining the grav sites.
So if I don't really need something from highsec, my motivation to scan isn't always there. Often I don't and just do anoms.
I think it's a hard subject to bring up, because it's hard to give a "value" to a scanned down wormholeroute to highsec. But it bothers me a bit.

We usually give 10% (of isk value) of whatever loot we get to the guy finding the plex. Each person (not toon) that actually participates in the plex gets an equal share of loot.
It doesn't matter to us how many toons someone brings, because if the bring multiple toon they are compensated by the fact that the alt gets a share of the bounties. Pretty simple way of doing things.

Edited by: Widemouth Deepthroat on 06/08/2010 00:35:06 In my alliance people usual share low end site bookmarks (for poor noobs) and wh entrances (for pvp/logistics purposes). The high end plex book mark will be sold to whoever wants to do it (if the probe is incapable/too lazy/whatever to do the plex themselves or at least assist in doing it)...10/10 100mil or so usually. Otherwise they'll ask for help in corp to do it and share the rewards.
Doesn't work so well if you are confined to a constellation like a lot of pet/renter alliance or surrounded by 1000 other carebears since ppl will just lowball you because they can just porbe your allocated systems to find the site or one of those other 1000 carebear will find it in the next hour or so. We have free reign of 2 regions all but cleansed of carebears so works nicely.
