In a black time, long, long ago a general spoke thus to his troops:
"Realize that happiness lies in liberty, and liberty in valour, and do not hold back from the dangers of war. Miserable men, who have no hope of prosperity, do not have a reason to be generous with their lives; no, it is rather those who face the danger of a complete reversal of fortune for whom defeat would make the biggest difference: they are the ones who should risk their lives. Any man of intelligence will hold that death, when it comes unperceived to a man at full strength and with hope for his country, is not so bitter as miserable defeat for a man grown soft. [...] For the love of honour is the one thing that never grows old, and useless old age takes delight not in gathering wealth (as some say), but in being honoured."
Long live the fighters for liberty and honour. Long live the fighters of the Ushra'Khan.

Even though l am no longer a member of the Ushra'khan , it was very sad piece of news indeed to see the old alliance treated in such a way . Only detritis would crawl to this level . I hope you learn from this & rebuild . You did it once before , and l,m sure you will again . I,m sure you have the support of all U'K vets .

I had an interesting conversation with Chungito as he rejoined the council chat, neither of us could imagine a day when UK would be red to us. I am sure there are many who think like that, and who will attempt to help UK rebuild yet again.

New Eden is a carrion field; those with out honor stand alone and thus are made prey by the masses. This is the core political truth of our cluster and yet those who would seek glory by skullduggery continue to fall into this self-dooming impotence trap.
Most who have done these things whither and die. The few who remain live on in solitary distrust, forever a scarecrow effigy to the fate of those so blinded by ego they believe their deeds will transcend the byproduct of social evolution that spans millennia.

Alistair grunts, switching on his comms equipment.
I doubt this event will be much of a problem for U'K, to be terribly honest. Self professed freedom fighters rarely require one name in order to fight for thir causes, misguided or not. I am confident I will see the same pilots in space, fighting for the same cause, for a long time hence. Only the name may change. But I understand the pain that the loss of a long-held and proud name can cause.
Alistair sighs.
I do hate to see such deviousness, but such is the way of our little cluster of stars and men, is it not? One wonders when...or if...CONCORD will get around to making such wholesale Alliance take-overs a bit less easy, a bit less common. But then, one can rarely count on CONCORD to get much of anything right, especially of late, eh?
Alistair takes a brief moment of silence before continuing.
To Karn, and the other honorable, if perhaps misguided, warriors of the U'K.....best wishes during your regrouping. I, for one, prefer to see and fight my opponents in space, or to defeat them here in the realm of ideas, and I have no doubt that those two areas are where we will continue to see and spar with you in the future, even if it is under a new moniker.
I wish it were otherwise, and that perhaps it was possible for you and your fellows to see the true wisdom of the Faith, but we both know the odds of that are slim to none, and in a moment of honesty, I cannot hold it against you. Slavery is, if I was to speak honestly, not the most effective method to inspire belief and adherance to the one, true, God.
Alistair ponder for a moment, considering.
Till I see you again in space Karn, may God be with you, even if you denouce him he may watch over you, during this difficult time of trial and testing.
Alistair shuts of his comms, and sits back, and ponders the recent events.

that is because you are an honorable man and as such can not speak on behalf of those who take dishonorable action and profit by low cowardice.
even still I imagine this personal comment will still cost you some retribution from your brothers in the CVA and your good allies Hydra Reloaded.
the sad reality is that viperous men can not stand the light for then they can no long deny their scales.
many Opticon members abandoned the vipers in their midst when the light revealed treachery (perhaps a small drop of the original Aegis Militia blood remained?)...i wonder if they will ultimately prove more noble than the CVA? ********************************

Honor. Weakness. Two different words for the same thing. One would think that after countless large alliances suffering similar fates to the one Ushra'Kahn recently has, the leadership in every major alliance and corporation in the cluster would take the necessary precautions to protect themselves. Woe to those who do not, they deserve their fate.
As for the "honorless" being made prey by the masses, I'm still waiting.

Just remember, they can kill your name, they can kill your pilots and they can trample on you legacy...
But they cannot take your will, your resolve and your passion, CVA and Hydra will rot in the cesspit that they have so happily decided to play in.

Sirs and Madams,
Despite your grief, your joy, your anger, your confusion.
This is nature, that mankind, every now and then, looks in the mirror, and then reacts in disgust, awe and sometimes admiration. Let's humor me here for a few seconds, I won't make it too long on you anyway. We are so bent on "Purpose" and "Reason", I'm not suggesting you to abandon either, but reality is such an illusion to opposing perspectives. Condemning it, cheering for it, standing by it and acting all puzzled, the action has been committed, with a high degree of success that is.
This is a true jungle, has been, always will be. Everything is expendable, but our memories.
GF folks, o/

This will prove to be interesting...Shame U'K as a banner is lost...being that it has had much history...I remember my father speaking of the great battles faught between tribes of the Ushra'Khan and the the brother hood of the CVA...
Con Tiki pauses...
How ever I've grown now... and am able to see what the truth is...in recent times the U'K I once was spoken to about as a boy, has changed and had lost its way, no surprise that its core leadership was infiltraded by greed, clouded judgement, and those with mal intentions for the tribes...This should be taken as a lesson, rather then a set back never the less good luck to you all I'm sure the brotherhood of the CVA will prove to be more then tough adversaries...
These views reflect those of Con tiki and not those of his corporation.

I have no quarrel with either side in this matter nor hold judgment as my capsule is still an infant.
It is a weakness to blindly trust anyone.
The faith teaches us to be strong and hold our sabers at the ready at all times, as we cannot allow the fight and circumstance be chosen for us. The moment you let your guard down is the moment you allow your enemies strike.
As mentioned previously, rebuild and learn from your mistakes and trust no one blindly.

Ushra'Khan was always about an idea: if even one man, woman, or child still labors unjustly in chains, none of us are truly free. As long as that idea rests in the hearts of courageous, selfless pilots who are willing to take up arms for the liberty of others, the essence of Ushra'Khan lives on, no matter the name.
The name may be gone, but the resolve of its pilots remains. |
