So I just finished a fight in my BS and was down to about 25% armor. I docked up, switched out one of the plates for a LAR and put the other plate offline (for grid). When I undock to repair it shows that I have 0% armor now. I figured that was because I took off the plates. Now I start the LAR and my armor doesn't go up at all. After about 5-6 cycles it starting repairing. Was that a bug or did it think my armor was negative and needed a few cycles to catch up?

Bacause you had negative armour, you dont see rep progress properly until you have repped up the negative amount. Signature locked for inappropriate image. Zymurgist |

LOL
I'm trying to imagine how your ship with negative armor looks like. Never happened to me.

Shows how much you know then.
Try it. Have a Corp mate shoot at you till you are down to, say, 3% armour. Make sure you have plates on. Now offline the plates.

When you offline or remove plates, your armor drops by the amount they give you. So if your plates give 2000 armor and you remove them, you lose 2000 armor and 2000 max armor. Rolled tungsten give around 4k unbonused iirc, so you lost 8k armor offlining/detaching plates. If you had 5k armor left, you would undock with 5k-8k = -3k armor, which would have to be repaired. --------------------------------- Pillage, then burn. Everything is air-droppable at least once. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'time to reload.

When you remove something that increases the amount of armor / hull you have, and undock you still remain at whatever value armor you had previously. So when you remove a plate you might go negative depending on your armor value when you offline it. I have had this happen when I was man-tanking an abaddon, but when you hull tank, you can't undock when you have -36,000 hull hit points....As for having negative armor hit points and undocking, apparently you can do it. Its not a bug, its an intended feature so that people don't offline a module and be able to quickly rep up 10,000 hull instead of 46,000.....

Thanks for the responses. I never seen that happen before, I thought it was a bug at first. You learn something new every day.
