I've never been able to open one, and the one that was open seemed to already be empty. I did a Drone complex and saw them, and can't seem to find any information in any wiki regarding rewards.
I know pirate factions have a chance at dropping pirate faction gear. What can you find in drone complexes? Do drones have any sort of mods, or implants you can get from a complex?

Who does drone plexes anyway... And CCP even nerfed drone loot as far as I remember,

This is a static public plex found in starmap - color stars by - DED Deadspace Report with a Beacon showing in the overview. Chances are it'll have already been completed if in a main travel area.

This hidden temporary plex found by probing for cosmic signatures is usually the best bet to complete since most players will bypass it. This plex can be found anywhere.
Usually the cans will have minerals, alloy's and compounds along with Overseer Personal Effects which can be sold to CONCORD and DED stations. I have found Meta Level 4 module's a couple of times with the Overseer Box.
The Cosmic Signature 'Unknown' Drone combat sites will have 4 red 'Leaking Casks'. I believe these are bugged. I've never found any loot in them.
Somebody else might know about the higher level Drone plexes.

It might have been a bug that time, but I once found a Shadow Serpentis 75mm Railgun in one of the Scratched Cask in a DED 3/10 site called: Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation.
So there might be valuables in it but I have done it several times after that and didn't find any. As for other drone sites I have done, mainly Dirty Site, I have yet to get something truly valuable. I only get drone loot which can be used for augmented drones to be build. But for that you would need the blueprints which can only be found in the drone regions (correct me if I'm wrong).
So if you want to earn ISK by exploration/plexing I'd skip the drone sites.

Actually just yesterday I did the Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation, the 3/10 DED complex, and a Shadow Serp Magnetic Plate dropped was in the drop in the cask. I think it was the cask...its the red container in the last pocket.
I was honestly shocked when I found it, I normally run them while I scan down other plexs, because they usually take less than 5 minutes to run, and you can get the overseers effects. And this time that plate. Might run them more frequently in the future.
EDIT: Also what is in the drone containers is usually either a drone alloy, or some minerals. 1000 trit, 100 zydrine or 200 isogen.
