So. All the pirates claiming that killing Hulks serves a purpose to cull market activity. What about purging Hub system of all activity for a week or two? Systems like Jita. Picking off ships of all sizes and stripping Spammers, Macro Industrialists and Macro Marketers of billions in equipment and ships, would that not be more effective?
Leaving a station Ive seen some impressively packed airspace and often wondered how many times someone has let go with a wave of Smart bombs and cleared a path.
Insights anyone?
With enough traffic loss perhaps Spammers might move to another system?

1. You can't smartbomb within the station's docking radius (and a couple kilometers out as well, if I remember correctly.)
2. A wave of smartbombs won't take out the larger stuff.
3. Spammers undocking? You think that actually happens?

Well, I know someone who set off an ECM Burst outside of the Jita undock (since bursts can be activated anywhere). Meh results. Smartbombs will work...if people would be so kind as to venture farther than the 0M undock.

If I could smartbomb right on the undock point in jita, I would. But I can't. In fact, you have to go about 40km past the undock point before you are beyond "0m" from the station. That said you could smartbomb 5km from the station or the perimeter gate to catch people in warp between the two. The problem here however is that you won't kill anything bigger than an untanked frigate. You can of course whip an arty apoc out and take down individual haulers, and there are plenty of people already doing that.

There needs to be a jitageddon to cut down on market spam and make the place less of a safe haven for campers. smart bombs will only go so far, you need to fit your ship with strong blasters and blast targets based on kill value and difficulty.
So the morons that sit on the gate and go afk would be worth more then some unarmed frig.
