Edited by: Reldor Silverheart on 29/07/2010 16:34:24 So i'm at a point in my career as a gallente pilot where i'm stuck between doing l3's with extreme ease or doing l4's with some effort. The time difference is that l3's take 10-15 minutes tops while doing a l4 can take up to 2 hours. I've played for about 3-4 months in total.
I fly a myrmidon with fairly good droneskills but i need to work abit on my drone dps aswell by gettting combat drone operation to 5(in the works), BC to 5 aswell as drone interfacing 5.
But like i said before my issue is, i'm stuck between having a extremely easy time doing l3's and having some difficulties dps wise doing l4's, however i can take down most BS's tanks but the hardest ones (1.6 mil bounties and up). So anyone got suggestions what i can do at this point pve wise, going to move up to 0.0 eventually aswell.
While i can train and get into a domi with some work on my droneskills i'm more interested in doing pvp , to be more clear Battlecruiser pvp.

Drake or you could obviously do missions in a group. BC pvp is expensive, try cruisers like a thorax and stuff to get a hold of everything and you might be able to take down some BC with a cruiser

Stick to level 3s until you're comfortable running level 4s (without taking too long to finish).
And remember it's not "either / or". You can have a level 3 ship + agent as well as a level 4 + agent, allowing you to choose to run one or the other, depending on what you feel like doing, or how much time you have.

Skip BC 5, use the time to get a bunch of skills up to 3/4 instead. For lvl 4's missions just get yourself a dual rep domi, they can tank pretty much any lvl 4 once you manage the agro. Domi will knock out a lvl 4 mission in under an hour easy.

Edited by: Takseen on 29/07/2010 17:22:33 Edited by: Takseen on 29/07/2010 17:22:10 I'd second the suggestion to go for a Dominix. 5 Garde Is with Gallente BS IV and Sentry Drone Interfacing IV and Drone Interfacing V does a very nice job of taking down battleships(and everything else for that matter). And it doesn't take all that long to train. It's only about 2 weeks of "wasted" training that doesn't suit your BC pvp plan.
On the other end of the scale, I've heard the Ishtar makes a mean level 4 missioner/0.0 anomaly runner. But the Myrm is kinda on the weak side as far as dps vs battleships goes thanks to the 75Mb bandwidth and no gun bonus. Nothing wrong with a bit of cross training to do level 4s faster.

Train the Domi already you can get it to 4 in a few days and be back on your BC train. The Domi is one hell of a PVP battleship it's fitting flexibility makes everyone a bit leary of one since you never quite know what your going to be facing with one. Is it neut, RR or guns? OMG will it ever run out of light drones? hey it's shimmering wtf, ouch was that 6 bonused neutron blasters to the face?
Seriously a the swiss army Domi should be in every Gal pilots tool box. Plus it's the best Gal mission boat thanks to the flexibility of drones it's still effective in L3 missions.
Oh and have I mentioned that it's cheap as all get out?

Don't get BC to 5, in the time it would take to get that you'd have a really good domi to do missions in, and the ship you get for BC5 isn't really a pve ship.

Thanks for the advice all, but i'll skip the dominix and get into the ishtar instead, considering i will be moving into 0.0 at some point in the autumn. And the domi is to bulky for 0.0 ratting so the ishtar is probably a better choice in this case. On top of that i like that the ishtar is also a very mobile and competent HAC. But for 0.0 ratting, heavies or sentries? They've both got equally long training times but which one will do me best in the long run, don't want to train both at this time.
Also it is a step in the direction i am going, towards getting into command ships eventually.
