Make available a way to increase meta level on T1 BPO other than the current research to T2. Invention chance becomes chance to become Meta2 - Meta4 or T2 depending on skills, decrypts, etc.
No more module drops. You want modules, build them or buy them. You want minerals, MINE THEM.
So says ME.

Its the next logical step imho. If you want a player driven economy you need player driven manufacturing, the raw materials of which are refined and seeded on to the hubs by players.
Anything else is half a game and heavily promotes the lv 4 farming carebear nonsense that has constipated high sec for far too long now.
It would be nice if there there was a reason to do something else in high sec except buy a Raven and blitz World's Collide.

A consequence of the op's proposal would be to make mining relevant to Eve again. Not so much interesting, but making it matter would be a start.

Oh it would also have many MAJOR long term effects on the game. Especially the proliferation of ships much bigger than a battle cruiser due to mineral market fluctuations and artificial inflation/deflation. Although I think that would be somewhat balanced by low sec alliances producing much of their own hardware for use in 0.0. It would probably result in a sharp bump in most ship and module prices though which might be a problem area for new players..
Not a bad thing though, especially if it means more players in frigates and cruisers, leading to more participation in faction warfare and low sec etc.
CCP could control inflation/set the interest rate by using NPC buy/sell orders anyway.

Didn't you read in CAOD http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1359784&page=10#285
Typing /signed is a deletable offense, especially when it heckles CCP.
Now I wonder if this will get cleaned up ...
ON TOPIC
A concern about this is that you can currently use meta gear to invent T2 gear with better odds. So are we using this circular logic where we can use the invention process to invent something that we can use to invent something else?

Kragden, I think you've mis-interpreted that one mate ..

Nobody is heckling CCP btw. This is a legitimate discussion thus far.

Fine, but you have to make all Meta T1 items actually useful. Meta items which are not more powerful and feature higher fittings are useless. Also: eliminate bounties on rats and transfer this value to tags that potentially drop. Make NPC buy orders for these tags. :)

never looted many wrecks pre-nerf. so, it doesn't bother me either way. I do however have lots of loot from my noob days that I never melted. so, if you need to use minerals to make something. then, you need to get minerals out when you refine it.
so says me!

Honestly, this would discourage me from playing the game and running missions. I don't soley depend on the loot drops for income, nor for minerals, but well... I like seeing what dropped. It's part of the fun. Oh did that ship I just popped drop something good, or crap? Am I going to get lucky and find a nice Arbalast Standard Missile launcher, or just junk?
And well, what about Faction Loot? Surely you don't mean to nerf that too? As an explorer who enjoys facing faction spawns in escalations, do you want to take that away from us too? No more Dark Blood Medium Neuts, no more faction ammo drops, dare I dread it... no more chance to find som fun faction BPC? Come on, why no love for those of us who look at wrecks as simply a treasure chest to open?
I mean yes, I can understand a desire to create Meta modules, that would be interesting. I can see maybe reducing the minerals refined from dropped loot. I wouldn't like it, but I could understand it to see a rise in the mineral market. But no loot at all? Where's the fun?
Heck, without mission loot drops... where would I get my Exotic Dancers from? Are you suggesting nerf even the items dropped when you pop Kruul's Pleasure Hub? Or will you be open to making them through PI?
Still, I'm sorry but I just can't agree with the idea of nerfing loot drops into non-existance. For some of us, part of the fun is simply seeing what we got when we popped all those rats. And really, do you want to take away faction loot too? That would really suck! It's 1/2 the reason I go exploring, simply in the hopes of finding some good faction loot, and I'm betting a reason many others do too!

What about getting rid of ALL roids for a couple of weeks, just to see what would happen without mining?
I'm not suggesting this as a permanent thing, but the results of such a test would be very interesting indeed.
Let the miners get straight cash instead of ores, so they don't all get seriously ****ed off.
