I suppose this topic is about two games using the same sound file.
Most likely they both got it from a free sound effects library. Some sounds are very common. The logon sound in old AIM messenger was used in Ashen Empires when a door opened etc. |

Not sure I hear the enderman teleport but the blocks of compressed ore are hardly relevant...I mean really....is your only argument that it's a square? Or that it looks like iron ore?

Films do this too. I notice it a lot, because I'm a weirdo. If you ever watch Braveheart you'll notice moans and groans being repeated throughout the film, during the battles.

Enderman makes a sucking/vacuum sound when he teleports. I have never heard that sound in Eve and especially nowhere near a gate. |

There are some sounds you'll hear in almost every movie. The same five or six squeaky doors, the Wilhelm scream, certain mechanical sounds...actually, between Doom and X-COM: UFO Defense you'll recognize about half the stock sounds they use.
In other words, you shouldn't be surprised that some things sound the same. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

As said above, same libraries are used often. some are free but most come on DVD's. There is a sample library for just about anything you want in game or film. |

Listen closely to the intercom on about any hospital scene on TV or the movies... you'll probably hear a page, "Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair... Dr. J Hamilton, Dr. J Hamilton" Here's your sign... |

Stock sounds free for everyone to use. Nothing special here. I'm sure you can find more if you listen.

An episode of Dr. Who(the new series) used the same sound effects as the doors from DOOM, of course the producers did that on purpose considering the plot of the particular episode.

There is a perfectly good explanation sir. See, back then, my daughter had developed a tech-2 weapon. Documentation of said weapon can be found in the forum archived here.
Shameless Avenger wrote: I want to go outside for a cigarette. But the only exit is being camped. I'm on the living room system, scanning the porch gate. 1yo daughter from baby's corp is there, equipped with a Tech 2 Crying Mouth weapon. When this weapon is deployed it works similar to an ECM Burst but it does not affect computers. Instead, the T2 Crying Mouth emits an ultra high pitch sound that melts your brain from the inside-out.
I tested several different countermeasures to protect myself from the T2 Crying Mouth. Power Ranger shows had great success, causing calming effect on the T2 Crying Mouth baby pilot. So I used it a lot.

What surprises me is to find this many ppl actually listen to the sounds of eve! Audible alerts - nothing else I've heard adds to my gaming experience - sorry sound Devs! And oddly enough, though obviously labored over, the description of the sounds provided by the OP and others, has not piqued my inerest in turning on anything other than what it takes to get the audible alerts.

The sound used when you biomass a (male?) toon is a very common sound file for males dying, usually from fire.

Who really cares if some games/movies & whatever else use the very same sounds as long as it is entertaining. Hell I would go as far as to say that in EVE there are a lot of people who don't even have the sounds turned on so whats it really matter?

Also most of EVE's sound files probably out date Minecraft don't they? I'm under the impression EVE is a lot older. Pirates are red, buddies are blue, if you're unlucky enough to be orange, I'll f*cking kill you.I wonder if all the pickles in the forums are tax exempt? |
