I would suggest that you keep this to German speaking forums since you are announcing a project that is designed for a very distinct language set. In addition, this is an English only forum so perhaps sites like EVE Germany will be much more likely to attract your target market.
Should you decide to run the project in English there will be no problem in announcing it here so that you can have more participants.
The thread in question is found EVE Decision Experiment secured by Chribba (30b) û executed by Capasia.
I find it disturbingly, that announcements for events for 'other' languages are not permitted on the boards, wheras EVE does have from time to time announcements on "german-only" events on it's main page. (afaik some PLEX winning for PI for EVE Germany)
I can understand, that only english posts should be made, that all user can understand what is posted (including moderators), but locking such threads is IMHO a bit overreacted.
So here comes my question - not that this thread gets locked either :) - is this kind of 'censorship' okay?
I'm not talking about complete russian, german or Klingon threads. Just announcements for events and actions or in the case of the said thread (a survey) ...

The forum rules clearly state that English is the only language allowed on the forums.

If i want to talk to English speaking people, would i go to the German forums?
No, i wouldn't. But if i did, i certainly wouldn't act surprised when i'm told to GTFO there.

if they allowed other languages the forum would quickly be full of russian spam advertising macros or something

Let's not stir things up.
While I don't understand CCP Navigators decision it doesn't really matter (actually I was looking for his email - is it [email protected] by any chance)?.
The thread was manily necessary in order to allow Chribba to confirm that I'm using his third party service (which is only possible on the Eve online forums). Considering there was a bit of civil discussion going on in english and that the results of the experiment might of interest for english speaking players aswell, perhaps it was closed a bit quickly. But it is fine.

But they didn't want to hear from any English speaking people, only German.
The English was just a pathetic excuse to have their thread here.

german is one of the languages i speak, but i spend most of my time on the english speaking forum, since that's where 99% of the activity is.
tbh, locking that thread IS annoying. he had an english clarification for the thread, too.

Hello all,
Let me explain a little further why the decision was made to lock the thread.
Threads and posts in the EVE Online forums must be in English only. While I appreciate that Capasia made the OP in English followed with a German translation, the entire project is based and directed at German speakers only. We already have many fansites which are dedicated to German speakers only so those would be the prime markets for Capasia to gain maximum exposure for his projects. Several replies have appeared in German which we must remove as per the forum rules. Unfortunately the Community team is quite small and we do not have the resources to constantly translate replies in other languages at present so all threads and subject matter must remain in English.
Chribba has also confirmed that he is holding the ISK as explained in the OP so players can still be linked to a locked thread if they are interested.
Finally, please do refrain from discussing moderator actions on the forums. The correct procedure is to submit a petition.
Thank you.
