I mostly use the Catalyst for quite a lot of stuff. I want to get a good idea of what the different fits for it look like. PvP and PvE.
My current all-around fit for the Catalyst is:
High:
8x 150mm Railgun I
Rig:
2x Small Ancillary Current Router I
1x Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Medium:
Faint Warp Disruptor I
Limited 1 MN Afterburner I
Low:
Photonic CPU Enhancer I
Reactor Control Unit I
Small Armor Repairer II
(Some of it will become Tier II later on) |

In general, the Catalyst doesn't have the overall fitting capacity for neutrons and/or 150mm guns, so taking a step or two down is often preferred.
Two options are:
1. Heavily armor tanked (400mm plate) 75mm rails. In fact, this fit has the highest dps of all catalyst rail fits (at the expense of range) due to the ability to fit damage rigs/mods.

You have not one, not two, but FIVE fitting mods there. Usually a sign that you're pounding a square peg into a round hole, and are about to be mocked by EFT warriors everywhere.
Take the same fit, downgrade to 125's and fit some damage mods instead. You'll come out ahead. And that isn't an "all-rounder" fit at all, it's a pure PvP kite fit. |

Good fit is good. If you're flying a Gallente ship, you fit blasters. Then you go run straight at the nearest person, overheat everything, and pray that they die first.
Note: Ishtar, Myrmidon, and Dominix are excluded from this rule. |

I usually fly it alongside people with bigger ships or faster tackle, with an all gank/no tank fit, hoping I'll be ignored in favor of more "important" targets....while pushing out ~600 dps. It's hella fun but you don't live long once people figure out that you really hurt, at which point you explode...
