I have seen the sugestion for remote skill access in the forum menu. However, I do have another reason to request it. I have been playing Eve for a time, and have had a great experience. However, I am now in a place where internet access is limited. So, I can only access the website, not play the game. (Too much bandwidth usage.) Now, I have run out of any skills in my Que, and will be out of the states for about 9 more months. During that time, I will miss out on a great deal of training time. I understand when you volunteer for an overseas post, you "takes your chances" as it were. However, if possible, I would truely not want to fall so far behind by not having access to the game. Please reconsider. I know I can't be the only one this effects.

I have to agree, it is something I have considered as well. I wasnt playing for long last year before Christmas and when the season hit I more or less let my account expire because I knew I would be busy and knew I wouldnt have a machine capable of installing eve in any of the places I was going.
You would think that something like this would be better because then more people would keep paying and not playing. Its like all the GTC with a fraction of the bandwidth used.

The common thing to do when your unable to access EVE for long periods of time is to put in a really long skill. When it starts to exceed 30 days of absence from game with limited access, your best bet is to let it expire (RL > Game ) or a clever option is to copy a current verson of EVE on a USB/thumbstick/Whateveryoucallit drive which you can plug in, access game, change skill, and then shut it down without having to worry about installing it on PCs that are not your own.

And what if you want to keep your character training and you dont have access to a PC capable of running it?

Well. I have a computer that will play the game. What I CAN'T do though, is play it as the bandwidth I have available is not up to covering the game. I also pay per usage. So I have to pay for each minute, and each data usage. I will keep paying for the game during the 10 MONTHS I will be here, if I had access to the skill training that I want to do.

When I'm away from home working I use a download restricted broadband connection (doing it right now) and I play EVE fine.
You'd be surprised how little bandwidth eve uses, only a few megs an hour here. Just make sure you're on a laptop so you can do the pesky patches at home

Saddly, I am in Ethiopia, with our military. So, you would be supprised at how slow my connection is. :) I am on a dial up connection as I write this. As for the dowload on the patches, I have to pay about 40 dollars per gig. And all I actually have IS the laptop. (Don't ask why, but the ARMY kinda frowns on moving a full gaming rig on thier dime. :D They really don't have a sense of humor. ) I am trying to find a way around the restrictions I have, but it looks like my main problems with this, is that this area is only covered by the Ethiopian Tele Communications Company. Ethiopia has made trmendous strides in thier tech, but they are still working on things like high speed internet. I only say this, and ask this, because I am only one soldier among hundreds, or even thousands, that are in limited bandwidth areas. I know of several soldiers in my unit that would take advantage of this if it was available. Not wanting to try and make myself out to be special in any way. I just am trying to voice something that would be appriciated by more then just me.

aye....build it into eve-gate or something along those lines...it would be GREAT....and since we can already send ingame mail through eve-gate..i'm guessing (not a programmer so just a simple guess) it's not to hard to make that happen....besides....would give you the options to train the skills you want when you go on vacation not the skill that is the longest and perhaps the least needed....
hope it will happen :)
